I managed to bet Supa Nova last night but was so glad just to get level again left off from betting Whatayeman.
Some brilliant greyhounds on show here this year.  I hope the track doesn;t let the competition down.

Why is the Derby being held at a track that has a racecourse (currently defunct) between itself and the stands? It just looks so stupid. Furthermore, why is it held at a track that seems to go on and on making fundamental errors - traps, rails, etc etc.

Greyhound Racing is so messed up and allowing this terrible gaff to have the Derby is surely an indication that those running the sport are incompetent. To my mind, there are only two tracks left where the Derby could be held. Hove or Monmore.

Nottingham was OK, but I went there for the round before the 1/4 finals back in 2019 and did notice how the hare disappeared out of the sight of the dogs at the first bend, only for a second or so at most but I thought that led to trap bias. Then, in 2020, Covid wrecked the event at Notts because no spectators allowed.

But what do I know? I used to go dog racing 6 to 7 times a week in the 1980's and 1990's but have given it up totally now because of the gross over-rounds, the constant diet of dross racing with, from what I see on TV, so many chasers and fighters, and the run down and beaten-up state of so many tracks.

OK, I was brought up on a diet of Walthamstow at its best and when that place went the sport virtually ended for me.

(Horse racing is showing signs of going the same, sad way.)

No real point in continuing to talk about Towcester as its all been done to death on here.  Hove would appear to be a fair choice and if the industry is serious about the future of the sport it needs to act quickly rather than allowing it the slow death we are now witnessing.

one or two problems with Hove sparrow crowd would be 3500 max and thats pushing it as they cant cope with 2000 sussex cup final night parking limited last but not least bookmaker owned no interest in said event

Wedge  what sort of crowd totals do we get nowadays for the Dery final?   I would have no idea myself as to that question and what would be the bookmaker effect on switching to Hove.
