anybody know what happened to whoops jack looked like cramp but not sure
By:
Have not heard anything, hoping it was just cramp but fear it wasn't.
I must say he was so impressive to halfway and would have done some clock the way he was moving |
By:
Whoops jack does not stay cramp or no cramp, nice dog but Towcester not for this dog
By:
Entries in by next week I think
And if there **** load Derby starts two weeks this Thursday ! 7 rds that is going to take some winning (who left standing that is ) Bet trainer owners haven't got this extra Rd on there mind my get cought out |

7 rounds with the usual three runs in eight days will be a KILLER! The Derby is ALL about endurance now and those who have proved they can do it over a long slog will come into their own again. Clares Rocket doesn't fit for me. Jaytee Jet and Cloran Paddy do. I wonder what else will emerge? It's going to be good.

bubbly bluebird 29.10 today
By:
I would be most surprised if this years winner has run the track yet
By:
It has a couple of trials
By:
Droopys Wilbury moved beautifully around the track there, came away running and looked to really like the circuit
By:
for those not watching:
480m Droopys Wilbury 27.98 Coolavanny Mason 28.03 Bentekes Bocko 28.27 500m Kranky Mark 29.24 Kentish Flame 29.53 beat Lenson Rocky 29.55 (didn't get home) Maireads Spring 29.61 Caddy Shack 30.16 (ran the track even worse than Rural Hawaii, hard to believe i know) |
By:
thought kranky ran the track to perfection. couldnt understand why buckley ran the dogs over the 480 with the different style of traps
By:
Agreed re Kranky Mark, thought he ran excellent
Dunno why Pat trialled them over 480m, it was down for 500m on the sheet, perhaps he didn;t want to go that far (only 20m i know) with Wilbury who has been off quite a while but Bocko and Mason have been running Henno, Mckenna, Holland, trialling tonight and Witches Belle as well |
By:
Please another firm go 8 razdazl tonight

By:
twice now for clares rocket def not for me with breaks like that
By:
A/P fav who looks like it needs to bang to win, not for me either doc
By:
going by what i have seen tonight they could of had the derby at crayford or romford
By:
Droopys Acrobat could make no impression on Eoghan which is some tribute to the ability of the winner - and still a puppy! Bonucci also ran a stunning race tonight and they are the two I take away from the meeting. It is hard to decide what is wrong with Rocket but it certainly isn't the dog of six months ago. Once again it slowed going into and round the third bend and it doesn't look good. The bookies must be ecstatic.

Woodmanchester: "At a bit of a loss why he (Clares Rocket) 14/1 clear fav on the back of a 29.22 trial"
Mainly: 20/1 Bluebird 25/1 Brandy 40/1 Buick Looked at 100/1 Mason but restricted to peanuts by James |
By:
29.06 joint quickest winners last night Garryvoe Bobby and Madabout Eoghan
All at sea round the track but Jaytee Jet 29.10 trial 480m trials: 27.98 Wilbury, 28.03 Mason, 28.08 Butt |
By:
Don't know where they get some of the prices from for a 7-round competition!

By:
Imo 33/1 the field 7 tough runs
I'm glad I haven't got too involved |
By:
211 entries, that's not a helpful number for Towcester at all.
They run a preliminary round only 19 dogs go out to get down to the 192 needed. If they don't run a preliminary round we get first round heats with only 2 qualifying again to get down to the 96 needed. |
By:
and you could get 19 withdrawals after the draw
By:
Aye, it's surely going to be 6 rounds:
211 96 48 24 12 6 |
By:
english racing making hay at the moment with no dublin tracks open, but with the lack of breeding in ireland because of the situation if it is not sorted soon it will be the death of greyhound racing both sides of the sea
By:
There where 41 Irish entered yesterday and Pat Buckley's dogs where not part of that. Be around 50 Irish trained entered then you'd imagine.
By:
211 entries means no need for a prelim round imo
unlikely to be 211 lining up in 1st round but 210 dogs...could be 20x 6 dog heats in which 3 qualify and 18x 5 dog heats in which 2 qualify 207 dogs...22x 6 dog heats, 15x 5 dog heats 204 dogs...24x 6 dog heats, 12x 5 dog heats not perfect but better than 6 dog heats in which 2 qualify which are unacceptable |
By:
in a couple of years they will have 8 dog heats with 3 qualifiers round there

Not the bumper entry thought. Crazy if they run a qualifying round just to eliminate 19 dogs
By:
Bit surprised to see Ballymac Matt and Jaytee Patriot declared
Hiya Butt and Azzuri Genesis wont get home in a month of Sundays but quickest split options |
By:
why would they race ballymac matt at towcester if not a prep for the derby, didnt think he ran too bad

Shame no Oscars Whisky/Junior, Droopys Trapeze, Candlelight Fire, Good News and Hot Trend
