Don't think speedy types totally out of it despite 500m but likely to play into the hands of strong-runners, hence the dogs I've already backed
By:
but i can not see wide runners comeing from midfield
By:
I wouldn't waste your time looking at the graded racing there and gleaning anything much about the track, it all levelled out a long long time ago
its only when we have had 100 opens run around there during the derby that the sh1t will hit the fan I can see a massive seeding controversy at this year's derby as well |
By:
i was starting to think towcester would be ok for the derby but i now think its going to be a strange event, for me the racing doesnt seem competitive enough for the whole field in a race,i can see a lot of class dogs leading the bend and winning by big margins as it looks hard work in behind

After Bubbly Bluebird's indifferent effort in the trainer's championship and Droopys Buick's shade below par run, it's 20/1 the field for the Derby now
Concerned antepost for Bluebird. Even after stumbling start and shooting quickly up to the bend, seemed to check off back straight and despite only his comeback race, alarmingly dropped away to a tame last, considering he's a strong dog, 12 lengths slower than trial time. Worried he's not right Buick didn't really fire like he can but can do much, much better No idea how Peregrine Falcon won. His time was over 3 lengths slower than Bluebird's and Buick's trials and Falcon's most recent Romford performances, Hove, Monmore and even Swindon trial nothing really. Seems the dual Derby finalist runs Towcester very well, though |
By:
Watch Bluebird's trial Woody - simply can't handle the track and doesn't come away from these traps.
By:
Could be a lively outsider for the Derby running at Hove tomorrow, King Kid (80/1 available). McNair's youngster really should have won last year's Wimbledon Puppy Derby after clocking a scorching 28.10 in the semis but it wasn't meant to be. This fella's got gears and when he hits the front, it's basically all over. Already has winning form round Towcester and could be a player if improving his starting prowess

Agree with that he's nice dog
Mind you think he need the race bad tomorrow |

will go through this thread soon and list out Woody's bets just so we all know what to lay !

Kid won easily enough and should come on, too
By:
old bit of water been put on the track before racing today
By:
Average trial by Bluebird at Shawfield but Buick has trialled well
By:
A favourite of mine Barricane Tiger won well at Towcester last night
By:
B Tiger gonna be hard to knock out of frame imo runs the track so well, interesting win for Bruisers Bullet formally Kingdom legend
By:
Bruisers only quoted with 365 at 33/1 but as you say Bizzy, Kingdom Legend the same dog and 50/1 with Power!

anyone playing antepost wants their heads examined HTH

I'm sure a small number of dogs will be overpriced but generally there's no value across the board, cant be arsed to even look through it

i take it woody is regularly contributing his portfolio
you were never more right lads the groundstaff dowsed the track with water prior to racing saturday morning and in came the outsides the staff are learning the track .... trouble is how are they going to handle a deluge on a hot summers night or say a ten day spell of no rain and then they water and it has no effect ? all of these events happened regularly at wimbledon any sign of a continual bias and out came the bowser this lot haven't been there seen it done it and are only in the experimenting stage now .... and then there's ante post betting ? Bluebird injured and out for a few weeks. Knew he wasn't doing his running

By:
Clares Rocket 29.32 (i thought he ran the track well, wide on first but not too bad for first look)
Garryvoe Bobby 30.03 (hit rail at first) |
By:
Impressive Guy beat Rural Hawaii a mile in 29.57
Rural Hawaii ran the track shocking |
By:
Kiss And Hug 29.73 (thought he struggled around the first and seemed to tie up to me)
By:
Drive On Tipp 29.45 (ran the track well)

Hard to say just how good Wildcat's recently-set clock is. Don't think he would be shaking the clock if that had been round say Wimbledon or Nottingham, though. 40/1 available after the trial. However, only 25/1 best now
By:
Dorotas Woo Hoo less than 2 lengths behind Droopys Buick clock when winning at Shawfield tonight. Watch odds tumble again. 80/1 not so long ago!

Bruisers Bullet, aka Kingdom Legend, 75.0 exchanges. If you fancy it, take that price. Listed as Kingdom Legend but they would have to pay out coz it's the same dog?

With his obvious injury concerns, think I could be lucky to get a run out of Bubbly Bluebird now. Although Clares Rocket is an Irish flying machine when spot on, at a bit of a loss why he should be as short as 14/1 clear favourite on the back of a 29.22 trial. Priceless Brandy has scorched round in a sub 29sec trial already and would be very happy with victory for him at 25/1. In fact, seriously thinking of going in again at 20/1 now. As far as the rest of the Irish are concerned, think most will struggle and finding it easy to avoid the likes of Sonic, Droopys Wilbury, Good News and Whoops Jack just now. Maybe Jaytee Jet, Bull Run Bolt and Garryvoe Bobby could do slightly better
Apart from Brandy, gone in again on Droopys Buick. Absolutely electric on his day and gets 500m very well indeed My opening gambit team is completed by 66/1 Oscar Whisky. When getting the breaks, don't think many dogs could live with him Good luck! |
By:
Oh, think the likes of Dorotas Wildcat, Bruisers Bullet, Dorotas Woo Hoo, Droopys Bonucci could be a shade inexperienced for the hustle and bustle of a Derby but might be a different story next year
