The Hedgehog keeping us going
drawn the toughest heat but if he gets around that bend without trouble he should get us to the final |
By:
Indeed P.F.,i was sad to see DR Z going out the way he did ; Matt and Sonic left so i cant complain, my son was very keen on Gyp Rosetti out of 1 last night -we got 8/1 with Bet 365 so saved an other wise bad day betting wise.
By:
Sad to see Ballydoyle Honey put in such a poor Plate campaign but still got Coolavanny Pat
What was the last bitch to win the Derby. Two remain and think Sidarian Pearl in particular got chances, as already touted |
By:
Think Sonic has a magnificent draw again
![]() Personally think it would have been much tougher for him in the other heat - leads easily for me in his semi and all over then Escapism hanging in there - he can trap the odd time but hes just deciding not to for the whole comp ![]() ![]() |

You could be right BJ, a lot of early pace dogs in the 2nd heat.

To answer my own question, think it was Spring Time in 1999

By:
Lenson Rocky looked lame to me from a long way out last night, yet still only failed by a short-head to reach the semis. Unlucky and disappointed
Just got a few running for small profit now with lots of covers, clawing back the lion's share of total stakes |

Was quite evident rocky hurt himself round first 2 bends if u study video closely. Brave dog to keep going as long as he did. Dog that bt him on line 4 behind comin round last 2 bends. Even tho he,s strong it was impossible for him to qualify.

Last race Leopardstown 7:20
First semi final of the Derby 8:27, Plate Final 8:12 What a pile of fkin sh1te, all so RTE can show then, nobody cares about their gash coverage FFS you'd want to hope there is plenty of taxis outside Leopardstown immediately after the last race, what a fkin farce |
By:
I concur PF ,I intend to drive to drive to shelbourne after the last what are the chances of getting there in time, youre welcome to a lift if u want, by the way what chance do u give cronins head bound dog winning out

By:
Cheers, I would imagine i will give Leopardstown a miss now or leave after the Champion Stakes if i do go. You'd hope the traffic won't be too bad leaving Leopardstown, just leave left and around the roundabout onto Brewery Road down to the N11. The first race in Shelbourne is 7:27 (ffs) which means you'll probably have problems getting into the car park at Shelbourne (was full well before the 1st last week) and South Lotts Road won't have any spots either i'd say. I hope it works out for you and you don't miss any of the big action.
It really is staggering to me, it's the biggest days flat racing of the year at Leopardstown so they bring the big races forward to a stupid early time all for RTE who let's face it have fack all interest in the sport. I think his dog would have definitely qualified in the other heat as he'd have looked the likely leader, his heat is loaded with early so no guarantee to lead or even turn in a decent position. As for outright i think the Derby is still wide open and the draw for the final will be massive, drawing red will bring so many right into it. |

Intended on doing both too but just not worth the hassle now with the ridiculous times and inevitable traffic!

THANK YOU PF

Waiting with bated breath for Saturday with sure to be lots of pointers to Derby final night. In particular, will be eager to see how Skywalker Manner, Sober Call, Laughil Ace, Ashbank Martin, Slippy Louise, Curious Boy, Trade Freddie and Coran Sky perform. The 600yds race will be very informative, too

At least the forecast is for good weather saturday, we are getting it double here at the moment in galway

PF
Slightly off topic but does that pub next to Harolds Cross show the football because I'd rather watch Liverpool v Chelsea than do my brains at the Irish Sunderland on Friday night. |
By:
Aye the match will be on in Peggy Kellys
By:
PF are you still punting gridiron??
By:
Anybody else think College Paradise may have a squeak in the 2nd semi - especially maybe in betting without the bottom.
By:
Hard to see C.P. getting to the bend 1st Artifice, having said that he may well get a run on the inside and quilify, loads of early in the race with Rural Hawaii fav in my book to get to the 1st bend in the lead , i think its odds on hard luck stories in the heat, Betting without the Rural might be the way to go, goodluck.
By:
ok frank - may well have a small bet without.... thought the 1st heat far too difficult with a clean run race a serious doubt
By:
Yes Wonders i do still play a little on football, more of my bets would be on college games though
By:
ok PF, the firms don't appear to have much clue on the A/P thats all arbs galore if you can get on
By:
fwiw i have played the Redskins to win the NFC East and have played the Cardinals to win the NFC West, NFC and the Superbowl
By:
ok GL have bet 3 teams to make the play offs chiefs 11/10 colts 11/10 giants 6/4 bit of interest for the ssn, there are a lot of numbers about in this sport and the limits that the firms offer are reasonable imo

Last week, 6 won the 1st and 3rd in the 2nd. 5 won the 3rd, 6 won the 4th, 5 won the 5th, 6 2nd in the 6th. Then, the Derby is the Derby. 6 2nd in the 11th, 6 won the last. Not get your point? Same for them all
