My first round review: Hugely impressed with Ballymac Matt - he can go all the way. The three who also impressed me, with how they ran the track, were Gyp Rosetti, Farloe Blitz and Slippery Snowy. Tyrur Big Mike, already a top-class sire with a huge ratio of 100+ progeny already, about to get a Derby???

Heat 13: Was pretty keen on the chances of Heathlawn Tiger here but do worry about the fact Laughil Blake was withdrawn coughing, he looks to have a right draw on the fence with dogs who are slow up all on his outside, he does run the bend middle so will probably edge off on the corner. Secreto has yet to really take off around Shelbourne as he did in Tralee and i could not consider playing him at those prices. Leave At Dawn is another who has a great draw with Secreto inside him looking for the inside, he has pretty good pace up but keeps missing the start, where he to come away he would be a big player but there is no juice in his price for me.
Heat 14: Do like the draw Ivy Hill Bart has here with Cable Bay directly inside him who is average up to the corner, you would expect Bart to lead him up off a decent start and should have a solo. Cable Bay is obviously a big danger if holding a pitch but he i priced short enough for me. At 10/1 i think Blastoff McCaw is too big, he will lead the inside easy if starting anything like last week and could go well. I wasn't overly impressed with Sidarian Teejay last week and he i plenty short enough for me and it's anybodies gue how Urban Gossip will run. Heat 15: I will be taking a chance here on Blue Cafu getting home and he looks too big to me, once he traps he should be leading and while the last 25 yards is an unknown at the price i am prepared to take a chance. Maverik has an obvious chance but i do worry he may not clear Ardrahan Zindi or Ballymac Ricky to the corner and Blue Cafu could get away, Ardrahan Zindi ran some race last week and has a chance if holing Maverik up but she looks short enough to me, Frampton has a great draw but even that i don't think will be enough for him. Heat 16: I don't really get the betting on this heat and think Overcharge is plenty short. Fair Taxes in 1 should lead him up and does edge off the fence slightly and if Fair Taxes does lead Overcharge i fail to see how he wins. Fair Taxes looks way too big for me @ 5/4, i made him 4/6. I do not even have Overcharge in second, i make Ballyana Foxtrot in 2nd and think he is worth a saver @ 15/2. Heat 17: It's all about how well Amazing Dude stays, he has clocked some incredible sectional to halfway in hi trials and should go miles clear once starting and even if he struggles to get home i fail to see any of these back running him, 1/2 is too big. Heat 18: This could get pretty messy, Padua Supreme will not stay on the rail on the corner and then you have Calzaghe Clampet and Hovex Prince going straight rails run up. Nothing i want to play here and just hope Ballydoyle Honey goes safely through, pity we didn't get to see her and Laughil Blake race during the comp. Heat 19: Honestly cannot believe Morning Music is odds on don't like his draw as the top could do him on the run up and i don't think Morning Music is great up either. I thought Clares Wonder was disappointing in his trial last week but does have a lovely draw with Glanmire Prince in 5 going rails and 7/4 is a fair enough price, if looking for a bet i would chance Uncle Paul @ 16s.Heat 20: A real good heat, hopefully Laughil Duke qualifies for connections (Thursday was not a good night) but i could not play him at the prices where he is drawn. If he does get across he will take the beating but that is a big if. Save The Don has the better draw and look fairly priced and if forced i would come down on but he has only raced over the sprint trip at Shelbourne and that lack of experience slightly puts me off. I wasn't really impressed with Ballybough Mondo last week but he still has his chance and Tyrur Supermac has been off forever and PJs dogs are hardly running great. Heat 21: My favourite race of the night as i simply think they've priced it all wrong. Material Man done a brilliant trial ye but they're pricing him off that and not the two graded races he has been stuffed in around Shelbourne. In both those races he has shown a massive lack of early and got adrift and i don't see why that will be any different tonight. The also have Knight Invader and Rockybay Yank plenty short for me. I really like Mucho Macho Man in 1, this is his box and where he wants to be drawn, he doesn't alway trap brilliant but has real good pace up and should get a lovely run as easily has the beating of Ravenswood Emily to the corner. If going around they'll have a job back running him especially if as i expect Material Man does not turn close. Then we have Redwood Mick who i also believe is overpriced, a dog who ha never really done what was expected of him around Shelbourne but he ha a great draw with Material Man inside him who he can lead if not making a mess of the start. Heat 22: Desperate hard heat that they've priced pretty much as i had, Tommy will take the beating if starting well but ha to as Barefoot Artist will be moving in on him from 5. Farloe Rumble has trialled really well but to be honest i have no idea where he is moving from boxes tonight and although he did a 3:39 sectional in hi last trial i don't know if he has enough to clear those inside him. Cabra Miller trialled well last week but looks priced correctly. Heat 23: Have bet Offshore Bound e/w outright but there is no way i am playing him at odds on for this heat. He is prone to missing the start and then moves rails so could well find himself adrift early on, he appeals as a type to keep qualifing however. Heat 24: Another heat that does not interest me betting wise. Bets Ivy Hill Bart 2pts @ 4/1 Blastoff Mccaw 1pt @ 10/1 Blue Cafu 2pts @ 5/1 Fair Taxes 5pts @ 5/4 Ballyana Faxtrot 1pt @ 15/2 Uncle Paul 1pt @ 16/1 Mucho Macho Man 5pts @ 7/2 Redwood Mick 2pts @ 7/2 Fair Taxes evens & Amazing Dude 1/2 double 2.5pts @ 2/1 Thursday -3.5pts |

11 with Rosetti, Fatty. Some only double my total stakes (£40) - including non-participants. Worth winning 80/1 Save The Don, 20/1 Ballydoyle Honey, 40/1 Gyp Rosetti, 40/1 Fair Taxes. Sometimes happy to break even in the end. Just see how the qualifiers go
