Wouldn't say 29.90 is exactly flying but seems very slow conditions, rated -30

By:
you'd know better than me
there is a good amount of NRs high up in the betting |
|

Are they Sidarian Blaze, Madison, Redwood Mick and Holborn Junior, PF?
Farloe Nutter, moved from Barrie Draper to Pat Buckley, entered |
|
By:
read the thread if you want to know ffs, i posted about Mick days ago
Nutter should move back, he is a million |
|
By:
Yeah, rings a bell but still in betting and not gonna read about 100 posts on a thread over and over again ffs yourself!
. 42/1 Blaze on here makes me wonder about him. Yeah, don't fancy Nutter but a point of interest |
|
By:
well we have to read your 100 posts a day so it may be courteous of you to do the same of ours instead of asking questions or repeating something that has already been posted

Madison was retired injured weeks ago (was bloody injured when he ran that night behind Fifo at Dundalk as he could not run a bend)
Mick is out i was told and Blaze i was told was a big doubt (was also told Vanrooney by the same person before he was pulled) Holborn Junior i have no idea |

It's poor Wonders, really poor year

By:
Not if Nidge wins, breaking the clock!
![]() |
|
By:
yes Woody if the favourite wins and does the clock that makes it an exceptional Derby
to change an old saying: if you've nothing sensible to say don't say anything at all |
|

would ya be concerned if ya have nidge backed and he doesnt do his prep trial on the night he said he would.surely just goes straight into the derby now with no official trial.
|
|
By:
will probably trial him Saturday night then (if not i would worry yes), there is no Wednesday night this year for round 1 so Thursday is the earliest he could be running
|
|
By:
i dnt see how he could trial sat nte when he didnt trial 2nte

lesports Hero turned up at Shelbourne last night for a trial over the Derby distance of 550 yards and he clocked a fastest 29.90 on a track rated at .30 slow.
The other 550 trials were: 30.21 Baliff Turbo 30.51 Ghost Town 30.78 Baliff Hawk 30.79 Norristown Bud Scottish Derby winner Holdem Spy made a very satisfactory return from injury when clocking 28.76 (.30 slow) for the 525 yards and other trial times over the distance were: 28.81 Holdem Hawk 28.82 Homeless Boy 29.01 Jackal Phantom 29.02 Swithins Way 29.16 Farloe Nutter 29.28 Jims Blessing 29.33 Headman Chris, Lagganmore Milan. |

Entries close at the weekend with the draw to be made on Monday morning in the Oaks Suite at 10am and it is open to the public.
|
|
By:
Dont see how the track could poss be 30 slow for trials if the races were Normal 10 mins later! Staggering
|
|

p ffffffff wits that holiaans one like geeeser ?

PF, it's all about the winner, wouldn't you say? I only want to see a great champion. Nidge can beat the rubbish contenders 10 lengths every round for all I care. Anyway, don't think it's as poor as you make out. Still some good dogs due. Okay, Vic, Kereight, Spy and Sugar Ray getting no younger but still top class. Wont know for sure until the doubts about some dogs are clarified though. Looking forward to B*ylesports, Mind The Net, Pennys, Silva, Buck, Fiery, Norris, Ward, Borneo and Vans? So many other probables, too. Would like to see Exocet take his chance. All to play for.
Might agree with your saying poor Irish Derby seeing as Skywalker Farloe so near the top! ![]() |
|
By:
Stop talking out of your back passage will ya.
And no a good winner does not make it a good Derby so stop pocket talking, you might think it's fantastic but if we have another big priced winner you'll be doing another Slippery Robert / Salad Dodger whinge saying it was rubbish, I am telling you now (nothing to do with my pocket) that it is a very ordinary Derby. |
|
By:
no idea what you're on about Irish, when ya sober up ask again
![]() if it's Emers Superstar ask BJG, he was my idea of a likely Derby winner earlier in the year but has been running like an utter pig until getting dropped well in grade last time |
|
By:
PF, would you say it was a good final last year? I know it's a year on, but all could be running again apart from Robert, Carrow had a mountain to climb anyway.
Looking at trial, hope for Ardfert Tee Jay yet. |
|
By:
there where big names in it but it has fallen apart before they got to traps
Ballymac Vic was carrying an injury and was the wrong side of Sugar Ray Tyrur Sugar Ray had a rotten draw in hindsight, actually thought it wasn't that bad at the time Carrowgarrif had very little hope Kereight King was a NR Cabra Buck as consistant as he was last year was really only a 29.80 .70max dog on the bunny Slippery Robert had an absolutely dream draw and always had that massive run in him if getting away decent at boxes so no I would not say last years final was any great shakes due to circumstances |
|
By:
Maybe not the make-up but the point i'm trying to make is good quality. If those dogs got through again, there are still lots of good dogs would have fallen by the wayside, as named above. Yes, there has been a detraction coz of Hulk, Mick, Puma lifeline and Blaze not making it, but i'm still looking forward to it. If nothing comes through, think i'd be more worried about the quality Night Of Stars
|
|
By:
They're the wrong aide of 4 now Woody, Sugar Ray had a huge amount of racing / trials last year yet will probably still make this Derby final. Redwood Mick takes nothing away from not being in the Derby, the way he was running around Shelbourne he'd have been in A2s soon anyway. You can look forward to it but myself, other regulars (for donkey years), the bookmakers, Shelbourne staff etc...
. will all tell you this years Derby is poor |
|
By:
Probably very poor from halfway down. Let's hope the big guns go a long way
![]() |
|
By:
Halfway down, it's poor the whole way down, you've a dog that's hardly bloody raced in 2 years (not raced in the last year) as he was injured and riding bitches as short as 25/1. You're deluding yourself if you think this Derby is good, as least the Good News Man will agree with you
|
|
By:
I wouldn't write it off just yet, anyway
|
|
By:
I know you wouldn't, the dogs you want get there and you win money you'll say great Derby, the dogs you don't want get to the final and you lose money you'll say rubbish Derby
![]() Nidge going straight to the Derby now, hmmmmmmm, what to believe |
|
By:
Read a report saying Nidge was bouncing not so long ago
You never know PF, there could be some possible improvers lurking? |
|
By:
They're always bouncing Woody according to talkingdogs
![]() OK Woody, it's the best fkin Derby ever!! Filled with quality the whole way through, makes all those derbies the last 10-12 years look like they where full of scrubbers |
|
By:
PF, you sound like a United fan I was talking to at the start of last season. Played average first couple of games and he was writing to season off. As it proved, he was right to do so!
.Just think there's got to be some potential somewhere. Can Wolf or Vulturi cut the mustard for example and dogs like Supermac could come of age? |
|
By:
Supermac could well win the Derby, in fact I think he will go very close, he is massive at 50s if you can get on.
Wolf has no chance unless he can get 1 every night, should have put him under the care of C. Lister, he may have then. Vulturi ran a screamer on his comeback behind Mind The Net but I can't play him at the price, no juice in it for me. |

We did have a little chuckle (seethe) at Michael Fortune's report on the Final of the Champion Plate last Saturday; PRINCE HAS IT ON A PLATE Green Prince was the favourite for the final of the €4,000 Hamilton Architects Champion Plate and his supporters were in happy mood when broke smartly from trap three and was the marginal leader in the early yards. Surely the headline should at least have mentioned the 6½ length (FTON) winner General Wolf but he's obviously owned by some English narks who we like to see over here as long as they get their ar$es kicked. BTW you're absolutely right - Wolf's chance is entirely draw-dependent. The red jacket is being tattooed on him as we speak to pre-empt any potential mistakes being made when the names are being pulled out of the hat. |
