Reading...the last time I passed was exactly as it was the day it shut....which is a sin really. A  huge catchment area crying out for "entertainment" venues even in these recessionary times....

Bletchley was my track in the early '70's.
It then became Milton Keynes Groveway Stadium (with Speedway also) and it then eventually became a housing estate.
My flappers were Bedford (The Eyrie - the old Bedford Town FC ground) and Luton but i can't remember where that track was situated.

Now the late great Hackney Wick is part of the olympic site, maybe the forward thinkers in the GBGB could make enquiries about making it a dog track again after 2012. West Ham playing footie on the pitch and greyhounds running around the outside; The Wick rising like a phoenix from the flames! I think that I may have just dreamt all of this.

fantastic reading but sad to think that all these great tracks are now gone it makes you wonder sometimes when the kids knocking about on street corners saying they have nothing to do or no where to go some of these tracks would maybe of given a new generation of dog folk we will never see the likes of this sport again
