yes. i can't be backing scheffler at 11/4. i'd fancy him more in a stronger field at a bigger price. he might not be that bothered this week and might try things out on course that he usually wouldn't.
the rest of the field don't fill me with any confidence. when you see guys like mackenzie hughes(50/1) and mitchell(40/1) you know there's not much potential in the win only market. clark for me at 14/1 - he's about the only player in that field that would have the cojones if he was in the mix sunday. |

gl all. let's hope scheffler has been out on the tear last night! would be very deflating if the tournament was over after round 1!
By:
walk in the park for scheffler. now into 4/1 for the masters and rightfully so. feels like the tournament is over even before half the field has teed off!
By:
Wonderful start for Scheffler. 54 holes still to go, alot can happen in golf.
7/4 after round 1, having touched 5/4. |
By:
yep. a few other lads seem to making a go of it. if scheffler could win this and the masters he'll have won 4 in a row which puts him in a very small list of consecutive pga wins alongside 4 other players including woods, nelson and hogan. the record seems to be 11 but different times(1940s)!
By:
Scheffler goes odds on with 45 holes left to play.
![]() |
By:
he's been taking some swimming lessons on the back nine. still made a par on one of those holes! at least a few have a chance now for the weekend. was looking all over not too long ago
By:
Scheffler entered the day on a streak of 28 consecutive rounds under par on the PGA TOUR, marking a modern-era record.
Awful way for the streak to end. 3 putt from 6 feet including a tap in that he just rushed. Can't take anything for granted out there. Game on for the weekend lads! |
By:
As good as he is, i cant have Scheffler at 11/8 on a compacted leaderboard. 9 players within a shot of each other. Layed him again.
By:
He found water on the par 3, made double, soon after i posted. I was feeling quite smug with myself, be he's joint leader again now.
By:
with 11 within 2 of the lead just can't be backing him at 11/8. he's been swimming a lot and making lots of errors too so i reckon if one of the other 11 players shoots a 65(and one of them surely will) then scheffler will need to cut out all the mistakes he's been making

Here's a rundown ten tournaments in:
10 Tournaments 76 Selections Wins: 1 (@ 70) Placed 2nd-5th (inc. ties): 7 Placed 6th-10th (inc. ties): 6 P+L to level stakes: -6 One or two hard luck stories but got to keep my selection process "as is". Certainly been the craziest season I can remember for a long time. This week's result has certainly pulled it round for me. On to the next one... ![]() |

By:
nice one rasp! probably the most eciting tournamnet to date. lots of players in the mix throghout right down to the 72nd where 6 players could have made a birdie to force a playoff and tosti even made bogey to lose a playoff chance!

By:
Well done razz, was half right when I said schefflers putter let him down after a good few weeks last term

Valero Texas Open
Some of the same old suspects at the top of the betting and some of the same old suspects in my picks as well! H Matsuyama 26 A Noren 36 H English 46 R Henley 55 M McNealy 70 A Putnam 120 A Baddeley 300 B Silverman 370 If his aches and pains hold off, Matsuyama could go well and I also like Harris English. Putnam's his usual big price but needs to play well for at least three rounds out of four instead of his usual two! Mav McNealy could be a little over-priced, and Baddeley definitely is! (Shame he struggles to put consistent rounds together these days) Good luck all. ![]() |

Russell Henley's 4 th in the Texas is a nice lead in to the masters. He was 4th at Augusta last year too so he has pedigree AND is in form. 75s on bf at the moment so I have had a little nibble ew.

schauffela been backed from 25 to 18 seems mad for a guy that's shown he hasn't got the head for winning a major yet. he must be burning up the course in practice because i wouldn't touch him with a barge pole at that price - instead i'd be looking at a top 10 at 13/8 and maybe a top 5 at 7/2 as his limit. won't touch his win only price
