finally a fabourite wins and at a short price 6/1. hes 11/2 this week to retain his trophy which means there are some big prices available for the doubting thomases. with that said my selection is Justin Thomas at 26/1. good to see lowry recover and finish 3rd last week hope he can put it together in time for the masters. gl all

good shouts on a few there OP. Putman and Todd must have been a fairly big price in the top 10 and 20 markets on here. i may start backing those markets for added interest. the top 20 probably worth backing too at those prices especially when it's so diffcult to find a winner(which shouldn't be a surprise with well over 130 or so playes most weeks)

There are 7 Americans in first 10 in betting, including the worlds best golfer. So odds for an American winner at 8/15 with skybet seems the way to go for me. I would price it at 4/11.

Was painful watching Clark Saturday, he was all over the show, scrambling saves a total collapse, then Harman joined the top 3, but Scheffler came strong and done it again. Clarkey went erratic last week too when it mattered.

Painful is def the word, Loui. A painful lesson learned there regarding trading and taking profit in running.
After Day 2 was over, Clark was 4 clear and priced as short as 7/4 on here.  I could have greened up, and taken around £150 profit, but instead I just took my £50 stake back (on all my selections) by laying at 7/4 and letting the rest run.  £450 profit was the prize, if he won, so I gave up £150 for the chance of winning 3 times that.

But looking back now, that was a poor strategy. It was only halfway, 4 shots is not that much at half way, esp with Scheffler, Schauffele and a few others lurking. It might have been the right move after Day 3 maybe, but not after Day 2.

I think the lesson is green up early if the profit is decent enough (I think 3x your total stake is decent). Even if your selection goes on to win, there's every chance he trades at a much bigger price before the end, and you can use a little of your green profit to back him again and boost your profit.

How did you get on, Loui ?  Did you trade any of it ?  What about you Rasp ?  I know you like to trade a bit. How did you play it ?

I didn’t trade out platini, but I had a bit on scheffler at 5/1 on another betting site that was doing freebies for new customers, but agree with you with getting out when Clark was wobbling. Thing was I also had Harman who come through the field to 2 shots behind Shauffelle on Saturday so my cash held up despite Clark struggling. Bit annoying they both finished 1 shot behind, but that’s golf betting, highly volatile.

Good effort with Clark. That final putt just had to drop in and it would have been a playoff.

That's two short priced favs in a row - the same player. I was waiting for the sequence of 100+ winners to come to an abrupt end and it's happened in spectacular fashion! Hard to back against the chef in augusta even as short as 9/2 - when he plays well he wins. MW Lee @ 42 this week for me lads. GL

Valspar Championship

My form of the last 2/3 years seems to have deserted me at the moment - although I've been close a few times this season.

Looking forward to seeing Doug Ghim and Aaron Rai do well here!

Schenk is an interesting pick loui. Have him e/w for this, as he has been consistent, (kind of!), with a -9 last week and level with Rory. Will also chance 2 of the raspberry mans with putnam + harman. Good to all. The lads were unlucky on here last week as Scottie roared home when he 25/1 Sunday morning I have been told.

Done Schenk &Mcnealy for the same reason Jay, showing some form I hope, always do a couple of small trixies across the tournaments hoping that one day get one or close

Did Harman miss the cut here last year ? I cant see beyond Shauffele, Speith or Thomas, admittedly knowing first round scores helps
By:

When: 23 Mar 24 03:01
think it's a bit of a lottery lads. had thomas last week and he plays like a weekend hacker misses the cut. probably hoses up this week when i've chosen Min Woo Lee who was 2 under last week but this week i'd have probbaly beaten him myself!

we're seeing more and more 300-1000 shots going into 50/1 and lower a lot this season. this week has been littered with them. the more i watch the more i don't think anyone will get near scheffler at augusta. nobody seems to have his killer instinct at all
By:
JayTrumpOldTomDubbl
When: 23 Mar 24 10:45
Senyatta I would agree with that summing up of the current situation. The cut line this week is -1. With 22 players on level par, and a further 17 or so on +1 plenty good players gone, including Spieth, Burns, Putnam and Harman (+2). Schenk was lobbing along nicely enough till he gave away two shots at the last. Probably ruling him out of reaching a top 10 finish bar a miracle. Seems anyone can win these tournaments now. Leona Maguire in with a shout in the LPGA. at -6.

I'll be laying Mitchell at around 2/1 final round. Only won once in 169 starts. He's very solid tee to green, but doesnt hole many putts. To win a tournament you usually have to hole putts in the final round.

think malnati starting price was about 750 on here. think we stick to the outsiders lads unless the chef is in the field! the two shorties were scheffler otherwise the winners have been monster prices all year bar maybe one(knapp around 50/1)
By:
TameTheTiger
When: 24 Mar 24 22:43
I laid Shauffelle at 4.3 after he had played just 8 holes in the first round. Madness price. Traded a fair % back since though. Superb final round from him to be fair.

Great call on the lay of Mitchell. He had an absolute shocker of a final round.
By:
TameTheTiger
When: 25 Mar 24 21:51
Was the free drop Malnati took on the 16th(?) in the spirit of the game ? Was his stance really affected by the sprinkler ? Went from a really bad lie to chip from, to being able to putt from the fringe.
By:
TameTheTiger
When: 25 Mar 24 21:57
And on to the Houston Open. Not exactly a star studded field, but at 3/1, Scheffler to win his 3rd straight tournament is a very layable price.
