That's brilliant from Harris if by design. If.

Think that's the first time I've ever seen Hideki smile.
By:
It was worthy of a smile.
By:
Certainly was.

Wouldn't it be great if the tour found a way to introduce a New York swing. So many great golf courses in the area.
By:
Jordan +8 thru 11 for the day
![]() |
By:
Considering some of the crappy courses they play elsewhere you'd think they'd be able to fit in at least one dedicated New York event to visit some of these classics more regularly.
By:
aren't they at least doing a proper rota now for the US open? 14 years between visits is a disgrace for this course
By:
The Northern Trust was the single New York event, even before it was shared with Boston it still wasn't enough.
By:
JT started -5 and trading at 5s, he's +5 for the day and trading at 11s. Don't see that every week.
By:
Boston has to go after this year anyway, so just play a New York course every year, problem solved.
By:
Looking at confirmed future venues looks like their giving the experiment venues a rest for a while. All battle tested except for Los Angeles but here's hoping that will be a Riviera type of course seeing how it's a few miles away.
By:
Yeah, sticking with the classics. Way distance is going Pebble might struggle to defend itself a bit in 7 years time.
By:
Pebble can be anything. Could see a -15 winner, but if it's dry with thick rough and that wind gets up then carnage awaits. Let's hope we get that mix at Torrey next year, the first US Open there for me is the definitive US Open in my lifetime. Tiger had a bit to do with it mind you, but the course was perfect. Would love to see Merion again, best case scenario 15 years between visits, too long.
By:
May have seen the back of Merion Think it was a bit of a nightmare logistically, no infrastructure etc. Would've probably been ideal for this year with no fans but not sure they're going back.
By:
Calm down, Brendon.
By:
I remember something about that, shame, course was brilliant.
By:
I'll take a little Tiger 2008 montage
Thanks NBC. |
By:
No mates Reed and Bryson will be an interesting final pairing tomorrow if we can get it

USGA just need to stay out their own way and this could be a brilliant weekend.

By:

By:
Best attitude in the game, JT. Getting everything he can out of a bad round.
By:
Have to say forget the course, been some utterly dreadful golf played this evening.
Standard of driving been abysmal... |
By:
Joint leader Jt. By end.
He would take that 6 holes ago. |
By:
Groups with 5 to play and 45 minutes til sunset, not even close.
By:
Different course the last hour or so with the wind completely dying.
By:
c'mon Hideki
By:
Jesus Jordan +14 feeling less and less like he'll come back - I really hope so though
By:
What does everyone make of Tiger's chances at another major? No chance a US Open, little chance a PGA. Could see him having a run at The Open which is likely his best chance from here outside of Augusta.
By:
Tried to speak about him a few times on here...
Hes completely shot. Gone. |
