Needs to completely out the bats away...

Tiger gets another for me...
By:
Think you're right Rhino, Opens and Masters we've seen guys contend into their senior years, plenty more chances for Tiger if he can stay upright. Almost no need for him to turn up to the other two on the big boy tracks.
By:
yeah, said it before on here - TW should put himself in cotton wool and drag himself out for Masters and softer Opens - shame that Lefty will never get the US
By:
He won't agree but Mickelson's story is kind of better though with the US Open as his unicorn. I wouldn't be surprised if Tiger stops playing the US Open and PGA at some point well before the other two, has always been a strategic thinker with his chosen events. Obviously not Torrey but moving forward from then risking the body for missed cuts or T40s is not in his interests.
By:
non open question - will Houston be set up to fit in with it being pre Masters event again?
By:
Yeah, if he wants to protect the body all the hacking out of the rough in events like this doesn't help. Think Tiger needs to fit his schedule around his non-bomber status rather than events he played well in the past, focus on Opens, Masters and maybe try pitching up places like Hilton Head to try to boost the win record.
By:
No idea Hank. It's no longer played at that track we associate with as the Masters warm up so may not even be feasible.
By:
I was pumped for him to play Hilton Head this year and he pulled a no show.
By:
Yeah, shame they've moved tracks, the old one was really good fun.
By:
Had a really great 18th hole if you remember TB that was pretty reliable for exciting finishes.
By:
Yeah, plenty of water about, always makes it more fun. Maybe the new track will be good too but I'm old and I don't like change.

If over the last two days the course plays at least as hard as today, which it is fully expected to do
Does that mean 4 over simply can't win? the winning total has got to be at least evens, right? probably more like 1-2 under. nobody at 4 over, 3 overs severely pushing it but at 4 no chance of getting to level on this course! |
By:
All depends on the USGA and what they do to the course with the subair. If they take it to the brink could still be into the pluses.
By:
Bryson and Pat really the same price? Pat's a known closer of big tournaments and less likely to go south rapidly, which Bryson could easily do if the driver gets wayward. Pat much better touch around the greens which will become more and more important if it gets even slicker. If they were same score I'd still maybe make Pat the favourite of the two let alone with Pat one shot ahead.
By:
Can't see +4 winning myself. Late starters will have best of it next 2 days with the wind and seeing the leader is -4 already, USGA would have to turn the place into a house of horrors and they simply will not do it imo.
By:
couple of players indicated the wind being the big gamechanger for the course and not stupid windy but all say weekend going to be windier than today.
understandably with such narrow drying out fairways, hard to keep them on the short grass, and once thats been missed it's damn hard work!! |
By:
I suspect the plan was to start relatively generous then get harder each day to target a winning score around even, and I'd say they're on course.
By:
yeah , worried halfway thru day 1, but they've played a blinder in fairness so far.
By:
yeah TB even par or a couple under for me. I totally forgot about the track change - can I blame the pandemic or do I have to admit my memory is getting a bit shi t frankly?

ha ha, an insight into how bad a gambler i am and get a little carried away at times...Iv'e backed cabrerra bello @ 1000, now trading 40, plus bubba and nieman not out of it......I STILL COULDN'T GO GREEN IF I WANTED TOO!

ps, all backing haven't done a single lay bet
By:
well, Tbf system you are unlucky in the amount of the big guys up there
By:
your too kind, realistically i backed 15 golfers too many
, well 10 i normally have a big team anyway, not to worry, when they takeaway the cut players and i "forget" about them and what my p/l should read, my book will look quite good ![]() |

media doesn't half like to gloss over reality withe hype you know!
All you hear is bryson 400 yrds, bryson overpower course blah, but that lads clever, he aint trying to smash n grab it here, he is actually 28th in driving distance, he is playing the course using his noggin - DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE... |

BUBBA WATSON MUST BE PLAYING SOME OF THE MOST SENSATIONAL GOLF EVER PLAYED!!!
Nature of these tougher tests alot comes down to putting, currently out of the top 15 on the leaderboard, 12 of that 15 are ranked in the top 15 putting stats after 2 rounds, there one ranked 20 odd and another 40th. And then there's BUBBA ranked a 121st!!! He truly is one of a kind, you can't, just can't of this type of course rank 121st in putting and be sat 12th on a leaderboard, YOU CAN'T! ffs heads hurting now G'nite...YOU BLEEDING CAN'T. |
By:
Even in the cold light of day it's still unfathomable how bubba's even made the cut, sitting 61st out of 62 in the putting stats, it really does defy all logic.
ps - Hideki @ 20/1 maybe very good value, after a mini implosion on day 1 where he bogeyed 3 out of 4 holes, since then think 25 holes + he's only had 2 bogeys, thats some going around here... |
By:
The more i look the clearer it becomes - BUBBA'S GUNNA WIN THIS - NAP
If you wanna play safe 66/2 1/4 odds 4 places is a steal... C'MON BUBBA!!!!!!!! |
By:
66/1 obv
By:
ha, 16 teed off , 13 over par, a few by quite alot, thinking deffo even harder today!
By:
The reason Bubba is where he is - top of the GIR stats. He's hit 29/36, which is two more than anybody else. Where most of them are doing chip then putt, or bunker shot then putt, he's doing two putts.

I hope you are right S99, I have him for £20 @ 550.
But, If he can get a good third round and drop to 10/1 or shorter, I will be happy to trade out for a nice grand profit. ![]() |
By:
sorry, he will need to go 9/1 for a grand guaranteed profit.
By:
ha great minds, i have a backbet already in @ 10/1

By:
Backed Bubba before the off (probably first time ever), fairly happy with where he is sitting.
By:
Nice one S99 and TB.
![]() I only bet him after R1 for an interest. Just thought he had a big advantage being a long hitter and couldn`t believe he was 550 after one round. |
