I think the crazy thing is that Tiger was allowed to play the ball from where he did, if he had marked the exact spot and taken his two clubs lengths,and then what he said in the interview afterwards would still have been within the rules, this can go either way, not as clear cut as Sky make it me thinks.

Got to chuck him out, they got no choice by imposing that penalty shot on the 14 year old plus for the future of the masters. They will lose the prestige the masters has got if they don't and what if woods retires with 6 masters after his career finishes!! Too much for Augusta to lose, got to nip it in the bud today for a week of debate instead a lifetime of debate.

It will be deemed DQ Once you have handed the card in with that score anything that happens herinafter that changes that score after it has been signed by player and marker is deemed incorrect. DQ is the only option in that case. |

Imagine if there was a tree directly ahead of him and by dropping slightly behind where he should be dropping an advantage was gained (assuming same situation with water etc etc).
In reality he gained an advantage as he could play the exact same shot to the yardage that he wanted. Rather than play the yardage of the original shot. Its absolute cast iron |

He dropped two yards away from original pitch-mark it would appear then its DQF, no doubt.
Tiger's integrity for the sport suggests he will as graciously as possible disqualify himself for inadvertent rule breach and his position in golf history will be enhanced immeasurably. This would be more of a story for the history books and "legend of Tiger" than winning again this year.... and of course he'll be back next year. I have bet him and would rather he stays in but big odds on, he's out. |
