I've no doubt if you spread it about they would be more than happy to take your money off you, Betfair is for trading, it just doesn't make any sense to let it ride if say he is 1.03 and you can lay off (fantasy bet) 3000 to 100,000.

Can imagine a few on here are waking up and feeling stupid now....

This is a full example of why you fail at most things....

you don't think for yourself, it's easier to jump on the bandwagon.

You will continue to fail.

Gerbs this is my 33rd account, I was on here day one.

I keep making over 250k so have to keep with new accounts under friends and family.

It's too easy on here.

Let me know who wins in the football tonight, in the morning I come on and tell you I backed it for a mass green.

See, easy... follow me.

No I never was Wee eck.I just had that very lucky week a couple of years ago.

KR and Eddie the Eagle are probably the two biggest players and have both been around for years.

I follow no one and blame no one when i lose but will listen to the OPINIONs of others and not knock everyone just for the sake of it Crazy

Yes I remember the Eagle being a huge player and was there not a

guy from Sweden who used to bang on a bit, I cannot recall KR but

if you vouch for him that will do for me.   He might be well off

but on what I have seen the last day or two imo he is not streetwise.

All i can say is those haters who can't abide decent, and substantial punters because they are two bob bit merchants need to grow up and take you envy to the football forum where you low lifes belong.

UL KR, thought you would have @ least greened up your stakes. Balls like coconuts.

As for Bettor Better - how sad are you? Sure you would like to chaperone KR to an interview with the mirror? I know you have no life but it doesn't give you the right to try and live it through someone elses!!

Hard lines, KR.  As you say, more important things than money.

Not just for trading.  Maybe for you, but not for everyone.  What if you thought the true price was 1.01?  It makes perfect sense not to lay off at 1.03 then, doesn't it?

Not that I'm really expecting this to make a difference to the doubters, but KR is a friend of mine and if he says he had those bets then he did. Sorry for your loss KR. Mine was 0.3% the size but still hurts!

Onward and upwards.

donut, some of us guys go almost 10 years back on the golf forum - while you joined Betfair this year, it seems...punters/traders like Knight Rider, Eddie the Eagle and Total Bosman are very big players, not forgetting frames.. ;-) Not that it's anything to be proud of, it's just the way they play...

And KR for one is a customer who lets a bet ride if he feels it's not value to lay off, and he's never stricken me as a player who greens out consequently, he follows his value calls and has a lot of different numbers in the field - it's a strategy, remember he hit Webb Simpson in the US Open and I presume he's still in the black for the year, anyway...he's a long term profit customer, end of.

Some of you guys have absolutely no clue what kind of market and competitors you're up against...virtual or not

Don't doubt the bet for 1 minute.

Still surprised you backed it on here when you could have got a big chunk on with the books / daq without the 40%.

Being a position taker I just can't see how you can still make it pay long term with the 40%.

Anyway all the best after the most sickening gambling day I could imagine.

Zappy post is spot on -

I cant claim to have any idea why KR did the bet (Weds drinking I think) on here but I do know that £50k was matched at 12.55am on thursday morning and I layed £15k of it (as part of my laying /trading not a straight out bet) so I am pretty sure he did place the bet...

BTW at that time scott, harrington, mcilroy, fowler and a few others were all bet for latge sums....  dunno which if any of these bets were KR's......

Point is - itsnot teh way I (or frames) or some other golf winners do business on here but I a,m certain that the initial bet was real.....

The irony here is that kr would come out of this better if the bet was in fact all a load of tosh, because having that bet and not greening up at such a short price is utter madness, you can talk about long term winners and "value" as much as you like ....1.02 and a good deal bigger i must say seems like plenty enough value to me, admire the guy for his long term prowess if you like, but please don't admire this particular play for heavens sake, and he'd probably tell you the same....good luck all.

Rob The Bantam has it spot on.

My model had Scott a touch big at 1.03 and I was backing (and laying 1.02). He had been too big for me for most of the back nine. I'm pretty sure KR wouldn't have layed him at any point regardless.

FWIW my book was worth 18k when he was 1.03 and I ended up losing 17.1k. Would've been around 30k but I thought he was only a touch of odds on to hole the putt on 18 and was thus a backer of Els at 1.5. It's never about greening up and always about value.

This thread is labelled and started off as the Tiger Woods +1M green thread

After Scott took a nice lead after day one, covertly there was a near 1M green on both Tiger and Scott on day 2.

Strange but true, they say.

Yeh, it's all about how your mind works through these things, but for my part if i knew that my man was going to trade as low as 1.02 in this thing, i wouldn't spend too much time deciding whether he was really a 1.01 shot or not, i'd be out of there and i wouldn't be thinking too much about that i wouldn't be lasting too much longer on here if i carry on throwing away free money like that!!

Barzalona I did not remember KR but some years ago when I was a keen bettor

on the golf there were backers and layers who gambled in sums that to me

were gigantic, I remember when the PC first reared its ugly head some of these

guys leaving here and going over to the purple site where they did not stay

owing to the lack of liquidity, they came back shrugged their shoulders and

paid.

Don't try to apply reason and logic here, for example out of the blue he is suddenly on a big green on Scott, just as a co-incidence Scott is leading.
