is this the week where brendon de jonge finally completes his domination of the rest of the donks who didn't qualify for the open? he always contends big time in major week against the other muppets but never wins but always gets to like $4.50 or something.
i'm all over thongchai for a trade as well. if its wild weather, 90% of the time i pick thongchai all the time !!!!!!! |

One outstanding player who i think could be suited with the par 70 and has the neat and tidy game for this course, has went completely under the radar and has been tipped up nowhere from what I can see. He doesnt play a lot of tournaments but his results are very ound when he plays
Schwartzel! Thoughts? |

i just wanted to b1tch and moan about luxbet having the WORST odds of all time on golf outrights. this is really gay because i have a $200 bonus bet with them and simply refuse to use it on golf outrights with them before the off.
tiger 8.5 westy 15 donald 17 and so on... perhaps senden $200 @ 7.5 for top aussie.... |

By:
kuchar at 70s looks huge.
not got a mention anywhere i can see |
|
By:
I'll be f**ked off if Kuchar wins, had a big old bet on him for this last year.
|
|
By:
No mention of Richard Sterne which surprises me a bit,330s reasonable enough i think.....could go very well.
Anders Hansen also if he has his putter with him.....excellent tee to green in the past 2 weeks....apart from the final rounds in both France and Scotland!...very frustrating player that i believe has a major in him...at the worst he will trade below the 190s available here... |

By:
Luke
Oosty Furyk Kuchar Poulter Schwartzel Molinari T Clark Na Gone with accuracy over brute strength.. |
|
By:
Wanted to back Rickie but 40s too short, should be 50 or 55 IMO
|
|
By:
anyone admit to backing Rory at 6......now as big as 25!!! big price that.
|
|
By:
Rory back to pre US Open victory prices. A brilliant year undone in 2 months. Funny thing is he's freely available at 24s right now and it's not even a little bit tempting.
|
|
By:
Not tempting? I'm tempted.
Why is Matteo Manassero still in the field? He doesn't have a tee-time, so I'm guessing he's an alternate? That's one sucky thing Betfair does - puts non-runners in the field and then leaves them there in case they play. Not a fan. |
|
By:
didnt qualify
|
|
By:
Not tempted at all Miss. Don't think the Open is the place to play yourself back into form, he needs some target golf stateside for that. If you're banking on the lottery factor too many viable options at far bigger prices to take the 24s. Mahan, Charl, Duffman etc.
|
|
By:
laddies go 10/1 woods .

Rory should know the course and the conditions a lot better than those blokes though rhino, and he's proven he has the game to win Majors. His form is a worry, but if he gets to 25+ I'll be happy enough taking a chance on him.
Charl first tourney back from injury is hard to get excited about, especially considering his middling form prior to the injury. Mahan does have the 'lottery' or 'x' factor, and I'm a fan of him in the States. Not so much in unfamiliar conditions though. The same goes for Duffman. I love how he's come along since his first win earlier this season but he's never made a cut at the Open and that's a major turnoff. ZJ is in almost as good form as Dufner and is 30 points larger so that's where I'll invest this week. |
|
By:
rory has been 3rd twice before in the lytham trophy
must be a few years back now but sometimes revisiting a course you like can bring it back and it might be target golf if we get a bit of rain 2 x 68s and he may well be under 10/1, which he started at last year |
|
By:
ladcrokes now best price about 12 of the leading 13 players in the market

Derek we're off ta benadorm!

i like choi for this, drives it straight if not the longest, still averaged 295y last week on the way to a good finish, has wins in the windy Hawaii, ice cool with the putter, low ball flight ideal for links, has the mentality to go around 72 holes in an open championship without blowing up which will be huge this week i think,i can see a lot of players losing their cool with double and triples and being unable to recover.most asians seem to like tough conditions on the golf course, just look at jaidee and singh lately and choi performed well at one of the opens harrington won.

By:
K.T. Kim. Not having a good season, but at 900s round Lytham, gotta worth a few bob.
|

By:
Powers also going 10s on Tiger at the moment. Not bad at all, with the 7 places.

Just back from practice ,weather was ok today , light winds and a few showers before we left.
Looks a good test ,fairway bunkers are a shot gone as always. The 6th is brutal , watched about three groups play it and no one made the green in two and that was in to a slight breeze. Bubba took an iron off the tee on 7 which seemed strange ,next group up and Quiros smashed a driver about 380 down the middle and then failed to hit the green with two attempts. Only saw Rory take an iron off 18 (two attemts ,first went well left),was playing on his own but don't know if that was for the full round. There were a few singles out today but most were in 4-balls. The SA foursome looked like they had a few quid on it ,looked like it was Coetzee/Grace v Louis/Charl and the few holes I saw Louis was playing against the other two. Sat on the range for a bit but could not follow the ball very well ,old age or cloud cover ? Would say there is room for about 30 players on the range ,by the time you add in all the hangers on and it seems like about 200 people on the range. Good day and looking forward to Thursday. Senden looked the best of what I saw today but when you are only watching players for 2/3 holes it's easy to get the wrong picture.Scott and Charl looked to be struggling. |

Eh, don't usually back as many pre tourney as I have this time around but have went for:
- DJ - Bjorn - Noren - Dyson - Hanson - Karlsson - Siem (Really wanted to back Harrington and Fowler but at 19/1 and 39/1 respectively it's not for me) Some big prices in amongst them just hoping one of them can get in the mix up! After the first day is concluded I will have a better idea as to where the more serious money is going! GL all ![]() |

I think it will be quite easy tbh. All this talk of rough but it's not a long course, the fairways aren't very narrow, it's soft thanks to the rain, and there won't be much wind. Double-digit under par wins it imo.

Matt Kuchar 70
Zach Johnson 95 Nicolas Colsaerts 100 Ben Curtis 95 Martin Laird 140 Anders Hansen 190 Jamie Donaldson 200 Robert Karlsson 240 Andres Romero 230 Thorbjorn Olesen 320 Brandt Snedeker 330 Kyle Stanley 350 Ryo Ishikawa 510 Gary Woodland 530 Sang-Moon Bae 570 Gone for the big one and will back all for top tens. Have to say Donaldson really impressed me at the Irish open with his putting. Good luck. |

Miss Anomaly,
Stay with the smaller amounts. Over the 9 years I have sports betted I have lost far more than I have won. |
|
By:
Canaletto - I'm sorry that you are down over the nine years, but am impressed that you are honest about it; makes a change from some of the fantasists on here. Good luck this week.
|
|
By:
Nice little write up frames...thanks
|
|
By:
Speaking of small amounts, I am a whopping $22 red on the field, but have been trading heartily and have the following greens: Charl +630, Siem +450, Quiros +620, Stanley +3.6K, Larrazabal +2.6K, Fraser +650, Ramsay +330, Ishikawa +1.2K, Leishman +1.8K, Havret +3.7K and rounding it out KT Kim +4.8K.
Still scouring through stats to nail down my final selections and am now looking towards the top end of the market. Getting excited now, am hoping the Claret Jug will make it's way back where it belongs - Australia ![]() |

Hi Frames, just read the 2010 winning thread with great interest, it took me 2 hours but was a great insight into your strategy and a most enjoyable read, how did you get on last year & any quick thoughts for 2012 open, thanks.
