Very tight....70 players (the cut mark) within 6 of the lead...a little run of bird from the pack and right back in it
|
|
By:
George Coetzee & Rhys Davies both -3....Davies has been coming back to a bit of form and is available to back @ 210...Coetzee has never won and is wanted @ 55 !!!!! is that logical ???

Still nobody beyond Stanley's overnight lead of -7 yet

Colsaerts eagle at 11 for 2nd day running to -8 and leads

Colsaerts bogey at 12 back to -7...only once in 12+ years on tour has nicolas liked the front....& he's been there many many times

Unless there is a drastic change in the weather it looks certain that the cut will be red numbers only

Anyone have a link for watching the golf?
All my usual links dont have it :( Cheers |
|

Is play suspended or are they having trouble with the leaderboards? No update since 4:08
Just updated now as I write |
|
By:
Some big changes since the last update.
Looks like someone from the AM session might get to 10 under. I'm sure someone from the PM session will get to -12, just who is the question? |
|
By:
watch out plenty of score revisions once players have finished today Choi went from -10 to -8 for example. There have been at least half a dozen revision's to those in the top 40.

The European Tour website is a complete and utter joke. Considering how much money is in the tour its a disgrace that they are so far behind the PGATour website. They cant even do simple things update the scores. It completely baffles me how backward our tour seems to be in this day and age.

So does anyone want to stick their neck out and call this from here !!
My book is looking a little lightweight - I have Branden Grace as a big green, same as Damien Mcgrane. Also added Danny Willet and George Coetzee for small greens. Futher down the leaderboard I have Cabrera-Bello and Finch. This is wide open though and think the Wind could yet play a significant role. |
|
By:
Muncha. Gonnet and Andersen-Hed can hit it plenty long enough. But those two and Derksen were value, I picked up some more Gonnet at 38s today inplay.
Traded some od Gonnet out @9s and turned Colserts and Grace into small greens. For me the winner comes from these 3, maybe one of the -7s and above can get in it. But these 3 will hang around until sunday afternoon. Grace has the bttle for winning as we know. Dubuisson, Willet and Kruger may get into it |
|
By:
I like Grace and have picked him in the Euro site's fantasy league, but I'd like to see him win away from home (out of South Africa and away from his home course) before I confidently backed him at short odds half-way through a tourney. The guy can play no doubt, but I reckon he'll be veryy nervous despite his two wins if he's in contention on Sunday.

Im having a dismal time on a coures that looks the same,i dont think i have ever seen a less inviting course than this one on the tour.....what a dour looking place, bleak and grey...
|

By:
I have just been watching the highlights of the China open on Sky. Looks like Grace was peppering the flag but not having much luck with the putter, id say if he can get the flat stick working this is his for the taking.

It will be interesting to see how the weather pans out for the early starters in the 3rd round because as we've seen from the first 2 rounds the wind is a serious factor around this course. It seems to be pretty defenceless without the wind so if it starts out early being flat calm and then gets up for the later starters you could possibly see one of the guys as far back as -4 or even -3 getting back into it.
I have to agree with golfnut though, what a dull soulless golf course this is.Not quite as bad as the one used for this tournament last year though which i thought led to one of the most boring tournaments i've ever watched in my life.It seems to be a theme in China. The only course i've ever seen there worth it's salt is the one used for the HSBC.You won't see any of the worlds top names in golf designs turning down a gig in China though.Money for old rope. |

any live links please? Ta.

Well thats a shame - Grace just dropped his first shot in 35 holes, but on reflection id rather he does it now than tomorrow.
Storming rounds by Noren and Georgie Porgie. Just hope that Grace can keep his composure and perhaps pinch another birdie before the end of play. My chances lie with him and Coetzee and an outside chance on Finch and Willet. But the way the scores went for the early starters today this could be anyones with 6 shots of the lead. |
|
By:
Grace just got 2 back since, lead of 3, He looks good for it but as you mention if the wind doesn't blow tomorrow low rounds are possible which brings a lot of people into it. No crowd, grey skies and construction machinery all around, what's not to like about that view!
|
|
By:
Well the view looks a lot better now for sure. Grace with a 3 stroke lead allows me to green up nicely on the field. Hope he wins though, seems like a nice guy with bucket loads of talent. If he can get his putting stroke working he can challenge for some top tournaments.
I think his main challenger tomorrow could be Coetzee. |
|
By:
im also on grace its a nice lead but have laid most of mine off at around 1.79.havent seen any of the coverage doubt i will tommorow aswell so best option i think .

Amazingly got rid of my greens on Hed and Noren while asleep.....didn't think it will happen but -8 and -9 respectively helped a lot

Grace my biggest win now....still red on colsearts

Colseart -15 @ 5.2
Zanotti -14 @ 32 Noren -13 @ 26 Coetzee -13 @ 25 Garrido -13 @60 Fraser -13 @ 42 Gonnet -13 @ 60 Does anyone else think the prices are too generous for some....have taken Zan, Gon, Gar...prices too high and colseart @5.2 is ridiculous |
|
By:
Who the heck matched my order on Garrido for 2 pence....oh come on....i know there is austerity and people are feeling tight money-wise but 2 pence.....you have more chance of finding £1 worth of coins down the side of your sofa if you care to look

You wouldnt be stunned if 3 players shot a 62 or 61 round this place..as good as grace played and he played superb...could have shot a 61 himself..far from over this..agree some generous prices...coetzee may be worth a few quid..took grace only on the back of someone mentioning him on here so cheers fella from page 1

a mention to bristol doug.,,missed the 75s though

Glad you took advantage HARRY22. Still a way to go mind you and a 3 shot lead on this course with a few useful players hovering within 5 shots does not make him bombproof by any means.
That said he does know how to win. When he won the Joburg open back in January he was always doing just enough to win without overly stretching himself. Which considering it was his first victory on tour showed he had composure under pressure. The following week he won the Volvo Champions - interestingly playing with Colsaerts in the final round just like he did today and tomorrow. He did lose the lead briefly on the first 9 but fought back well be beat Els and Goosen in a playoff. Charl Schwartzel was also in the mix during the final round, which just goes to show how unfazed Grace was by the pressure of leading and potentially winning. I think he will play his own game tomorrow and hold out for victory. That said I would be just as happy if Coetzee had a storming last round as he is now my biggest green. Good tournament for me regardless of who ultimately wins. |
|
By:
I'm not so sure there are that many still with chances. That is based on the assumption that Grace who is 3 shots clear has a nightmare. In all likelihood he will shoot -5 min even with last round pressure if the course is like it was today and probably better so that means Colsaerts has to shoot -8 just to make a playoff and others further back have to go crazy low. Not saying it's impossible I just don't see it happening. But then again I have Grace backed and should be more worried?!
|
|
By:
I was thinking the same..-5 should see him win but you cant just expect a -5
. im not being greedy...grace looked comfortable today...was usually in the middle of the fairway and his approach shots seemed to be leaving him birdie putt after birdie putt...i hope it goes as planned but you know it wont [ |
|
By:
Very true Harry, got on @23 so I'm going to lay off some and green up all round. Prob get up to watch the last 9 holes but with liquidity poor in play I guess I'm lucky to be in a good position. He should win but there are always bumps in the road.

|
By:
Gawd....can't believe i've woken up this early to watch the final day.....ice to see Gonnet price crash from 60 to 40.....not yet taken a shot......
|
|
By:
Hanson -6 thru 10 (was -6 thru 7) & Poults -6 thru 12 today..I'm sure their short price pre tournie backers will be impressed....NOT
![]() |
|
By:
That's why i tend to lay the many short prices pre tourny as there always a better price later......especially with Poulter
|
|
By:
Hanson -7 thru 11 now !!!! if the wind gets up could it be the biggest turnover ever ???
