btw have added some more Kuchar so he is +£635k now. Also increased my position on our friend Dustin J to 300k. Was hoping to take Moore to 7-figures but unfortunately Tindall has tipped him up so that destroyed the price.

great reading Frames enjoyed the thread immensely last year and good luck to match the 09 prof.......I am on Els, Rose, Kaymer and VJ Singh heavily and another 12 or so to smaller stakes. If Kaymer gets his putting going 48 is a good price, but he hasn't clicked yet. Agree with many on Ernie and think he will be a rock solid proposition in the wind. GL all

Thanks.I just go into the weeek as with any other ,hope to play the game well, have good concentration and most importantly get lucky.
Looks highly likely I will be starting the tournament with a fairly empty book and will just play it as it goes. Will post my opening positions before the start tomorrow morning. Good luck all. KR ,did Furyk get anywhere near your US team ? |
|
By:
Furyk is borderline but I left him out. Not a massive fan of his really, I know he's won twice this year but wasn't exactly prolific before that, he's just one of those consistent types that never really lights it up over 72 holes.
That said, 60 is very tempting, have put an order in at 65 and will have a nibble if someone lays that. |

Any feelings on Robert Karlsson KR?

Best bet is Phil Michelson for me.
Think he will handle the weather and he has the class to take it all the way, hopfully. |

frames 14 Jul 10 11:11
It was a full on brawl when he put his approach to 5 ft. I see now when you load a bet up it shows current figures as well as your position when the bet is taken under each players name. Not sure if you have noticed already frames, but there was a site "upgrade" last night, and some of the preference settings were changed. If you want to revert back to normal, click on More Options in the market and untick "Display What If". Good luck for the week, was a great fred last year. My own fancy for the week is McDowell....so, lay, lay lay ![]() |

This isnt a tipping competion thread, this is a lesson on how to survive palpatations and heart murmers during play !
As the man says, in the end, it is just numbers...I look at the % play rather than the figures...if we start getting KR and ETE figures on board, it's gonna look like Tesco's end-of-year accounts |

Knight Rider, have you got Jeff Overton onside?
I feel he fits your overpriced, underestimated PGA players profile-a bit worried by his latish start on Thursday but otherwise think he has a chance |
|
By:
Stricker is in great form can play links golf well and is a stonking bet this week.

Sewter, I did try to get on Overton at 200 but only got 50 quid matched. Not gonna back him at 150 but if he's in contention on Sunday you will get some enormous value so I'm sure Ill do well if he ends up winning

Very rare poster but regular forum reader and followed last years thread throughout, mainly good banter, insightful posts and minimal garbage which is a rarity on here open week! Looks like a few posting books this time so although a novice will give it a go also. Book at start of play, shamlessly based upon reasoned picks on here and elsewhere, with my own limited knowledge/research thrown in also.
Lays to lose around 1k each McIlroy Mickelson Rose Harrington Poulter McDowell Stricker Donald Casey Fisher Moinari F Clarke Ogilvy Choi Watson T Decent Greens D Love III 11.3k Kjeldsen 5k Yang 5.2k Bubba Watson 3.1k Quiros 2.3k Goggin 2.3k Singh 2.3k Anderssen Hed 4k Field 245 Good luck all!! |

By:
well the press and BBC pundits top 3 winners are
Woods Harrington McIlroy I have backed all 3 to date, may lay woods tomorrow dependent? |

Morning all.
As always the first day is the most important for my book ,I will have good idea tonight if it`s to be a losing or winning week.I have ended up laying Tiger before the off at 7.6 ,bad timing for a start off.I just don`t like risking him going in-play before laying.I still have a bit of room to lay him again if he makes the fast start but don`t really want to have that choice. It`s all about laying as many of the fancied runners as possible today ,ideally they all make a fast sart but we know that can`t happen.I have layed a few overnight as there have been a few shorteners.Kicking myself for not laying Westwood earlier in the week, now out to 30. Opening book. Field 5.8k(have 1.2 tied up so it should be 7k when it starts hopefully) Tiger -20k Rose -16.1k McIlroy -14.8k McDowell -18k Have layed some rags this year which is something I have been doing for a few months now ,a bit new and a bit risky. Clarke -42k Bjorn -34.6k Watson -45.8k Faldo -49.2k I hope to update every hour or so and will just quote the field,Tiger and any layed since the last update. Good luck all and as usual ,take it easy Tiger (no odds on at the turn please). |

I would like to add it`s good to see more people posting positions this year. It`s good to see all the different approaches and follow how it pans out over the four days.

Good luck this year frames...
I haven't layed anything this year as I'm off to Turkey in a couple of hours and wont get much time there to be online working on a book. Have backed a few players though just to have an interest in the tournament. My backs are Oosthuizen , Cink , Dufner , Mcneill , Dyson , A Hansen , Na , Petrovic , Kelly and Garrido. The first four being the biggest green. |
|
By:
In the end I made three lays the mainstay of my book: McIlroy (@17 - Xmas come early), Rose (@22 Xmas in July), and Woods (average 7.2 - summer Hogmanay). At this stage either one will cost me 2k and the field will get me a nice Xmas bonus of about 500 (AUD, not GBP). At bigger odds for trading I've taken a flier with Noren @ 630.
They're off. Good luck to all. |

Morning all.
I think this is the tournament that Tiger will turn things around in....on his favourite course and a strategy/putting contest. At the moment, my book reads.. Tiger 25, Mickleson 10, Els 10, Furyk 6, Casey 10, O Hair 5, Karlsson 8, Ishikawa 15, Davies 15, Hansen S 8, Dredge 15, Weir 8, Glover 5, Duval, Montomery, Watson, OMeara, Noren all 10, Lehman 50. Field -7 |

By:
Ok now for the action. A few dropped off my final back list due to price firms (F Molinari, Gallacher, Rose, Bjorn). On top of that, I scaled back slightly on the outlay and profit positions of those backed in a couple of cases. Final list is as follows:
Kaymer Donald Furyk Cabrera E Molinari Schwartzel Allenby Davies P Hanson Jaidee Canizares Best of those from a profit after commission perspective is Jaidee @ $7,598, weakest of those is Donald @ $3,533 Field is minus $550. Gl all looking forward to a wonderful 4 days |

Some will know me here - I do pretty big books (not Knight rider esque - probably the same as framnes) My book is a complete mess at teh moment.... some trades went bad some big drifters,,,
At present I am +55k the field.. and -20k on my worst guys.. I still have some fixing to do but at the prices I will be on the following and against teh following On Strick Mic Casey Donald DAvies Gay karlson weir verplank kjedlson Against Woods els mcdowell ghoosen molinari watson loads more on -10k but so many cant be bothered to list just now..... Good luck all... Ps my main backs were guys with good putting stats - I think this will be a putting contest as the rain will negate alot of the long drive angle |

No position to report, but it`s 7.17 on day one and I`m officially sick of the phrase "home of golf".

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread, it has almost restored my faith in the forum.
For what it is worth I have layed the Tiger and have small backs of JB Holmes and Shane Lowry. No pictures for me for the whole 4 days, also plus 10 hours GMT, I will be relying on scoreboards{God help me} and updates from the forum. Be lucky. |
