The thing about martingale based "systems" is that they can give the impression, to the not very astute gambler, that they are working, right up until the point that they fail catastrophically.

There is one thing that punters/gamblers have is this 'focus' on recouping what has been lost.
I, myself, guilty of that. Find ten quid on the street, you put it in your pocket and shortly after, forget about it, the effect on your day perhaps an extra pint or coffee at lunch. Lose ten quid, it causes you to walk into work or come home with this dark cloud and causes headaches and problems. Thus, with betting, have a good day, we take it for granted as if it is 'suppose to be that way' Have a bad day, and the knock-on effect is exponentially greater that what a good day leads to. I haven't got the patience to take the above bets and see how it would go at level stakes but what I see is a set-up that starts with losing a quid that can escalate into chase that by losing just three in a row means putting close to £100 quid to make it all back. |
