Thats the end of our second '100' bet cycle;
The New Trainer results second time round are much better having cut out some of the under performing trainers turning a loss of 22 points into a profit of 29 points from just 32 bets. I think that section is sorted for now so will continue it from its current mark. The LTO Performance was steady away and increased the profits from 11.3 points to 19.3 but made less in the place markets. I'll start that cycle again from zero and see if its possible to better it, although with a strike rate of around 40% this might just be as good as it gets. I think the 'edge' is just gained from my willingness to spend 10 hours a day looking through the form book. I try to pick horses that have had a decent race last time out in the context of the race that it is running in today. Normally they will have ran within the last nine days and not have been overraced in previous weeks. What I have discovered is a lot of those that dont win do trade to low odds on prices in running and I'm currently working on whether its beneficial to lay these selections in running at a price which would be in relation to the horses starting price, or the price taken if better. The 'New Trainer' selections are based on the trainers previous ability to transform a horse first time up for its new yard. Again form study is needed to asess the horses ability to perform in the chosen type of race and I also like to see some market support. All input is welcome. Deltâ is very good at spotting 'New Trainer' horses and its always worth taking note of any he puts up. |
