Sad I hope not, alex. one thing that makes me genuinely uncomfortable about this game, and want to pack it in when I can afford to, is the knowledge that a lot of the money ultimately comes from people who aren't "recreational gamblers", but addicts to be pitied rather than ridiculed.

really, a lot of us are like offies selling tennents super at 9 in the morning. and being a corner store rather than oddbins doesn't make me feel especially better about it.

A Short Update

I won't go into great detail, but after thought, posting updates of a betting/gambling nature whilst I still owe money to various people/companies due to a bad few months is probably not the best idea in the world, whether I'm winning or losing.

My priorities for now are to pay off all debts before I get back into providing any more updates on here.

The lenders probably asked for their money back.  His stupidity never ceases to astound me but at least he has taken his full postal address off his facebook page although he does still leave his full family tree tree for all to see!!

He'll have done his cash again, no doubt.
Let's hope he now attempts to find a job and leaves all this
laying outsiders for a huge % of his bank rubbish behind him.

It really is pathetic and such a public display of self-delusion - on the one hand admitting that his luck may have run out, yet on the other saying how he has to get it back before the snooker starts, whereas any half rational individual would realise that it's high time to forget betting and try to find a job etc.

Got to kind of feel for his parents, there he is in his early 30's with no source of regular income, presumably no money to pay them for rent/food etc.  He's basically leeching from them, if that was me I'd be ashamed, clearly he isn't.

Viva, a lot of the time I am buying Tennents at 9pm to sell back at 2pm.

The reason I am less embarrassed about betting than you are (apart from not being full-time) is that I have this losing mug gambler inside myself, so I've rationalised it as a question of 'do or be done to'. With the drawdowns due to mug gambling and pig-headedness getting fewer and fewer over the years, I've become more aware I'm winning off addicts.

. Frame betting is one of my best markets on Betfair that in the past I have made thousands from, so I really need to sort things out before then.

I would say there is absolutely zero chance of him getting a job and moving out of his parents house.

he will just continue to lump on the short price faves and stay in his vicious circle. I cant believe he hasnt realised he just had a lucky streak but when you have a problem like he does i suppose its hard to notice things like that.

Starting Afresh - 11/04/11
I'm going to draw a line over the last 2 months and start afresh. It’s been a forgettable last few months due to a combination of things but that's no ones fault but my own. It's the risk you take when you choose this route as your only form of income. The good thing is the World Snooker Championship starts this weekend and I usually do well on frame betting, so it's a good place to start.

I've not had a bet since late Thursday, but will be starting again tonight with the NBA. The break has done me good, so hopefully things start to go in the right direction from now on. I just need to kick things off, get to the bank size I feel comfortable with and go from there. I'm not silly enough to persevere with something I know I have no chance of profiting from. Despite all this, I am still in debt, so my priority is to pay these off before anything else.

That's it for now. Oh, btw, look at the ticket below. This shows the extent of how quickly things went wrong. I was going to the Aussie Open in January and didn't even end up selling the ticket. I wish I did now, as I could have done with the
money.

Here we go again!!

He keeps saying he does well on frame betting but his earliest post covers last years world championship. His profit on snooker is just £250 compared to over £8k on other sports.

The mistake he made wasn't buying the ticket for the AUS open, but realising he'd need to win more money for his transportation over there.
