don't understand that Sweet. That will leave you a net profit of x.
Why not just risk the 'x' in the first place rather than backing someat that is drifting? |
By:
cheers tiger
By:
because i can guarantee about 12% profit on a horse that only needs a slight hiccup at a flight or lie several lenghts off the pace to drift to the price i need...i think it will win

By:
job done already :)

By:
sweet is green !
By:
lol you've the making of a tipster already with that attitude :)
Why not post your list of lays and mark the top two separate ? You might get sensible avice on whittling them down to two bets especially if the system doesn't have any routine to separate them |

could of greened at a far bigger price but hindsigjhts a marvellous thing
By:
to elaborate ivor....a usual tactic of mine is to back a horse pre race, which i know will set a blistering pace or at worst lie handy....the price almost certainly drops rapidly allowing you to green out quickly.
the reverse with slow starting favourites...lay then back as they make ground |

lol, ghetto, ive said early doors i dont do AW, dont even look at the cards or results alot of time, but yesterday thats all there was so just picked 2 for the sake of the challenge, i dont mind bearing that result in mind once the month is up, it doesnt really matter no money is going down,
ive just been asked to put 2 up a day, so sticking to that, i will just have to hope i pick the correct 2.. the twice i didnt i had other ones that would have done the trick, but also on occassion on the 6 100% days i have the odd one on my full list that has won, so its swings and roundabouts, just got to be confident i will pick the right 2 on a regular basis for the next 20 days. cheers . :) |
By:
backed mactavish here at 8.4 and put a lay in at 6.0......it should almost certainly hit that price as it sets a good pace before emptying last furlong

By:
green after half a furlong :)

A brief comment on my past experiences Sweet. Straight lays right or wrong are always more profitable long-term than greening up. Greening up is a comforting illusion.
By:
would of been chef de cour :( just sit this out now
By:
ivor i dont always try to green in running, i often form an opinion and let it run...however if i feel i can virtually guarantee a profit, by backing/laying to green on pacesetters and sleepers, then i'll do that
whats the old adage, you rarely go skint by taking a profit :) |
By:
7/7 so far.
Place BACKing Negus 1/3 ish. Gone coffag. |
By:
ivor what kind of money do u look to make a day?
By:
all mine are lays s.c.o.m
By:
If it works for you - do it of course!
For myself - it meant plenty small profits - then the loser when I couldn't green up - wiping the profits again. |

Today's target 43 Ekbalco - still early in the month.
By:
yeah i understand the pitfalls ie you back a novice chaser who you ''know'' will tear off like scalded cat, but duly hits the deck at the first.....however i find i can just as easily be having a great day laying fifteen losers in a row then lay a 20/1 winner :(
whats your price range for laying? |
By:
**k me
thats one of the easiest winners i have ever seen hasnt been on the track for 12 months |
By:
that your daily target Ivor , 43?
By:
place laid salhood at 4.4.....only 2 places and running against mudlarks
By:
ivor why 43? is that a certain percentage of your bank?
By:
