I've been reading this thread and found it very interesting. As things are slowing down I thought I would post my lay of 7 goals in Cameroon game @ 13.5, hoping that they will be happy to hold onto their 2-1 lead ;)

|
|
By:
Cheers Knight! Does someone keep a track of the prices of those during the day? I'm quite busy at work at the moment so it's hard to track for me, but good to review at the end of the day :-)
Hopefully everyone can keep this going!! Nearly 6k posts in 5 weeks!!! |

200....what are your thoughts on laying 2 in the same race...is it always best to stick to just the one. ta
|
|
By:
jeski - it really depends on how you select your lays and how many runners there are. Sometimes I lay a few because they all look suspect - but you need to have enough decent prospects against them. It comes down to what you are comfortable with. The more you lay the lower your liability, but the fewer horses are running for you.

right thanks REM, it's in the 3-40 at Sothwell...Imperial echo and Andronikis. I'll do them for smaller stakes and see how I go. thanks

A very interesting read. I've popped in to read most days. What are you actually doing with the next bests ? |
|
By:
On the laying one horse only discussion - yes money can be made just laying one at a time, if you obviously have an edge over time. In other words you have to know a bit more than the market e.g. that a 7-1 shot on here has only a 9-1 chance for example.
You do need to have a robust selection method, if it is just seat of the pants stuff you will normally find that it will unravel in due course - been there and done it. Last NH season I had a run of 47/49 successful lays at average odds of around 11/2 and thought I had cracked it. I then laid 5 winners (losers for me) from my next 8 selections, without knowingly doing anything different. I was then more or less back to square one. So without being condescending, don't kid yourself that you have got a system unless you know exactly what it is and that it can be proofed retrospectively, as I'm sure the esteemed Footsoldiers has confirmed already. |

I have a method of laying two in selected races - produces a lower strike-rate of course (70%) - but an attractive net ROI profit over all (15%).
