well done again today steve, best to ignore the idiot who comes out the woodwork occasionally... Hello mate - Thanks bud. I know but couldn't resist earlier :-) I know how to make money on bf and if people want to come and post rubbish on this thread then that's up to them....it's quite amusing really and just shows you that even if you start and maintain a profitable and friendly thread, some people just want to cause trouble and talk sh1t. Oh well.....can't wait for tomorrow's lays ;-) [i]Quick question: are you going to be doing the lays every day, or having bank holidays etc off ? Well I don't know mate.....Its quite hard work you know....I may need a day off for some R & R ;-) Hope you made a profit today Dave. Cheers, Steve. |

But using a staking plan based on risk, not a problem. Hi Shapeshifter - I don't agree that it is a disaster long term using level stakes. As I have been showing returns using both the staking plan and level Stakes. As you can see: 4 Weeks Results System Staking: @ £50 to £20 Stake Lays - Ratchet Starting bank: £5,000 Bank: £7,691.87 Profit: £2,691.87 Level Stakes: @ £50 Level Stake Lays Starting Bank: £5,000 Bank: £9,378 Profit: £4,378 87.56 Points Profit If you have a decent enough strike rate for the price you are laying at then you can make good profits laying up to 10/1.....and above :-) Cheers Mate Steve |

Been lurking here for a while just following the progress. Fantatsic result no matter which way you look at it. Level stake is the acid test and you have done brilliantly. Don't know what your ROI is but it must be right up there with the best of them. Hope all continues well.

hi Pro Punta good work and excellent profit. Im trying to do a similar thing on another thread, but had some bad luck tonight. Do you ever back horses? when youve studied the form I find it more value to bet a horse rather than laying a big price loser that could spring a surprise. But as tonight proved you bet alot of seconds and end up with a loss. I think I may stick to laying like you do or maybe bet my selection to be placed instead. What are your thoughts on this? I see you laid HOLLOWS MILL, Hex 6.45 (beaten a long way recent efforts, too old and too high in hcap nowadays). Rather than lay this I bet YANKEE HOLIDAY who ran a shocker. Hex 7.00 -HONOURS DREAM - never won over distance and looks like prefers soft (non-runner). I laid the fav GREAT APPROACH this race which proved a good call (+5lbs today, drop back in trip could see him outpaced) but bet FOLK TUNE which also was a good call until it collared on the line (shocker). Finally you laid CHARTIST, Donc 7.15 which I was tempted to do (never won over 6f) but opted to lay fav HIGH STANDING as it was 1st run for a while and thought it had a tough draw (horse won comfortably, bad call as trainer is in form and won 1st race at Donny).
Anyway keep up the good work and hope your success continues, hopefully I can get on a good run and achieve a similar result because I'm putting the hours in studying form, which surely will deliver the goods in the end. |

Hi IQMJ Yeas - I have seen your threads on here. Interesting.....how are you gewtting on now mate? Do you think you can make a go of it full time? Yes - I do back horses. Actually I am really a backer and not a layer, well not until the inception of BF :-) But yeah - I do back horses regularly too .... Steve |

I think the thread is great and really look forward to reading it every day to see how you did. Just a couple of questions; If you have 16 selections for the day, and the first 10 are winners for you, do you never think about cancelling the rest, as one winner can take away a big chunk of your profit? If I remember correctly Maria used to take days off when their wasn't enough selections to lay in her system. She said it was a numbers game....does it not bother you if only 3 or 4 horses meet your criteria? Keep it up. I will certainly be pulling for you to get to the 100k pin |

John Holmes never had any bother in that score as he was able to rise and shine without compunction.

OK I think I misunderstood your "level stakes" - was £50 level stakes the amount you lay, or your liability per bet? However no matter what still doing really well.

Morning - well a bit of a disaster yesterday really. I had a day off after a boozy Saturday night - well after doing my shortlist. A friend did my lays/thread for me and unfortunately posted 2 selections that were not supposed to be posted, 1 of which was the loser! Nothing I can do about it now - seems i shouldn't get invlolved with drinking, esp after last time.....seems to go t1ts up! Anyway, worked out this morning that I have now posted 7 losing selections that should not have been layed. SR should really be on 93% but now on 89% due to my errors.
Won't dwell on it too much now but i'm just sorry for anyone who layed it. Won't happen again! Post today's lays shortly.....No Verbal thrashings please :-) |

HEARD THIS BEFORE
1977 18 Apr 20:42 Sorry guys - I was a complete to55er today. Got up far too late after a heavy night on the tiles - which I seldom do....and made a huge **** up with the selections. I know it sounds like aftertiming but I really did screw up today - I drew up my short list as per usual and because my head was up my ar5e (hangover from hell) posted that instead of my final selection list!! |

Afternoon,
No sorry mate Had a prob today with my pc. Completely knackered. Went to switch it on and nothing. Won't even boot up. Just managed to borrow my sisters laptop so will be back up and running tomorrow. Shame I couldn't post as had 5 loser's so far and 4 remaining. No point posting remaining lay's as should be 5 points up. Steve |

I know it sounds like aftertiming but I really did screw up today - I drew up my short list as per usual and because my head was up my ar5e (hangover from hell) posted that instead of my final selection list!! Yeah, about 2 weeks ago. Last time I had a session. But since then I have made about 40 points`profit, how much have you made with your pre-paid credit card?? :-) .....Don't know why you're calling me a fraud, do you know the meaning of the word?? I post BEFORE racing starts with my selections. If I screw up I take ownership of it and include the results in the figures so makes no difference. Why don't we have a little laying challenge then - over the next week, 2 weeks whatever you like. Both post up however many selections you like. Whoever loses promises never to post on the forum again?? You up for it PIPPA99?? Put your money/reputation where your mouth is?? Bet you don't take me up on the offer...... :-) we'll see. Just seem's you're full of jealousy - can't resist knocking a winning thread.....can't handle being a loser hey. Well, u up for it?? Post here when you want to start and I'll be waiting for our match......Good Luck. You'll need it. Steve |

Yes I do think about it and have actually done it a few times. Especially if the last couple of lays are 11.0 ish on BF. For the sake of making the minimum it is probably worth it. If I remember correctly Maria used to take days off when their wasn't enough selections to lay in her system. She said it was a numbers game....does it not bother you if only 3 or 4 horses meet your criteria? Yes, I have thought about this but I always think "where do you draw the line?" If you have 4 selections and they are all 3/1 should you lay them as if 1 wins you are still in profit. I decided to just lay all selections I have as I think when you pick and choose you end up laying losers and cutting out winners! Cheers Steve |
