Taking on OLYMPIC DREAM today. Despite some promising runs last season, the races so far in the 2009 campaign have lacked spark. Granted, two horses it has raced against recently have gone onto win but both times were after their weight was brought down while Olympic Dream finds itself carrying more since its last race finishing well outside the frame on G to S. But looking at the card, there is enough depth of support to lay this with confidence. Minturno has performed consistently on three runs on good to firm this season while despite not running on this going, Just Five has had runs with solid kick to indicate it will be part of the early pace but carrying more weight could make the line a challenge. Looking long, Go Alone should be a solid ew in the race. Running on the same going and weight as its win at Redcar but playing an extra furlong that will hopefully suit (Whos Shirl came in second that day and has placed since beating several horses rated higher). And dont be surprised to see Lakeman in the mix who has showed promise on his recent AW runs. So the depth is there for OLYMPIC DREAM to drop the flame. Good luck.

It was trading @ 10/1 this morning on here so THEY KNEW the Bar Stewards. Look at it's betting on the 6th August @ Ponte. 7/4 out to 7/2 and it gets beaten. While today it was 10's this a.m. and returns with an SP of 11/4f. WHAT CHANCE HAVE WE GOT - Well, a lot more chance laying rather than backing actually ;-) No but seriously, if you are a regular backer I suppose you have to figure in whether or not you are getting a run for your money or not......... Haven't done a full post mortem but took on a horse just inside my comfort zone which is a mile to 12 furlongs.
Couldn't find value on any of those markets so reached into the 7F races. Thought the depth was there but all the horses I had listed for support finished outside the frame. As well, rereading my notes, when cross-checking against runners, should have seen the potential there to make the frame or better. That's the gee gee's and I learn from every race, win or lose. Taking a break Friday though might find one or two in the evening. Good luck to all. |

Well since dropping £1.5k over 3 difficult days, we have managed to recoup this and more to get the bank to it's new high point, and this has only taken 6 day's which I'm really pleased about.
