Good effort from Switzerland. Having held out for 65 minutes pleased they kept it at two. Didn't have that much possession, but when they did they tried to pass it, and not just hoof it back to opposition. They should be able to build on that. Spain were disappointing and you would think they will need a good deal more than that to beat France.

I backed Spain -2
2 missed pens. When you know your lucks out-it's out ![]() |
By:
nothing to do with luck it aint a game down the park there is millions on pro games
By:
Confused.
So you think Spain would have won by more or less-or you think that was the right result ? |
By:
Switz got greedy. They were holding out with a great game plan then the coach took off the lynchpin sweeper/DM Ivelj for another striker and they collapsed
By:
I think England at 3/1 here for the final is decent value; they'd be fav if Spain copped it. England will need to beat Italy prior. I think they will.
By:
... England looked completely worn out to me, hope I am wrong. Good luck Clydebank.
By:
Italy are a big step down from Sweden and England should win it comfortably.
By:
Sweden looked a bruising encounter to me. Two girls limped off with leg injuries, Bronze had to be strapped up to continue and another was heavily body-checked and elbowed. The goalie had a bloody nose but otherwise seemed OK. I hope they all recover fully in time for the next game.

By:
Why are France so big aint they better than England
By:
France have to face Germany then
Spain to reach final, whereas england only have one game to reach final, against Italy. |
By:
France or Germany tonight? France is a shade fav. Where are they in the world ranking? Who is more formidable against Spain?
By:
Germany are ranked third after USA and Spain, France are ranked 10th.
Nevertheless it's a difficult call and I shall be seeking the comparative safety of the Draw no bet market. I'm hoping for a cagey start where I can go for under 3.5 on the goals market (if I can get over 1.5) but both teams have shown they can score goals so it's a potentially dangerous strategy. |
By:
The rankings (in mens and womens) are pretty much a nonsense..
France more talented, Germany more physical, probably more tournament ready and mentality wise but less technical and less pace, also missing key player in Gwinn.. at the prices I'd take Germany but can't say I'll be parting with money.. |
By:
I fancy France to qualify and I'm on @ 1.72.
By:
France for me with a few quid on France/Overs and AOHW. Germany look shaky in defence since losing Gwinn and her replacement full-back is suspended as well. Add to that the maverick German keeper prone to getting caught out of position and generally pretty hopelss, and you've got the potential for the speedy French attackers to have a field day.
