Harrogate look a big price away at Carlilse - otherwise a watching brief in this League

harrogate 1-1 after leading
![]() 6 points beteen top 10 teams - pick your winner out of that lot wtf is going on at gillingham looks like they are imploding like last season ![]() |

doncaster and walsall will hopefully be straightforward home wins.

This is a tough division to call. I have rolled the dice for tomorrow. Hope it is not a mistake, going heavy on League One too.
Cricket on Thursday looks interesting. Pakistan cannot win if they bat second but England can although I would want huge odds to bet on it. If England win the toss they Shirley win but how much do odds come down from even after the toss? |
By:
You shouldn't discount Wimbledon and Fleetwood either so I would say top 12. Of those, Gillingham and Barrow are going through a bad patch, both fell away last season after good starts.
By:
fancy port vale at 29/20 to get a win at gillingham at the weekend
still a wide open league though and hard to make bets on |
By:
top of the table clash today port vale v walsall. walsall favs on here but im not sure about that given vales strong home form 15/8 looks big.
have backed crewe MKDONS and Salford today |

MKDONS AT HOME TO GILLS THIS WEEKEND
LEAGUE LEADERS WALSALL SHD BEAT BARROW |
By:
Walsall 4 points clear with a game at hand (5/4 to win the League) and are away at Harrogate today at 7/10. Harrogate lost three on the bounce. Tad short i thought but will probably win.
Grimsby at 2/1 look a decent bet to beat Swindon (see my thread for details) Second place Port Vale 3/4 (won 1 in 6) play bottom placed Carlilse who are showing signs of improvement following their awful start. |
By:
walsall even money favs to win it now
By:
Walsall are looking very good and are now 9 points clear with a game in hand. avaialble at 1.60
By:
Walsall now into 1.53 and away to notts co which should be fascinating as notts co have won 3 on the bounce and in decent form. county are 17/10 and walsall 31/20
i fancy three aways in this division including grimsby9/5, salford 17/20 and cheltenham at 3/1. treble is 18/1 not sure why sky are covering swindon v Colu ![]() |

Walsall continue their good spell and keep the 12 point gap at the top. Worth noting that top scorer Nathan Lowe is on loan from Stoke. Salford City are the other form team with an 11:0 goal difference for the last 5 matches and they are my choice to beat MK Dons 0:2 in the correct score competition.
Gills and Barrow who were early high fliers this season look like dead ducks now, I wouldn't back them with your money let alone mine. Swindon seem to have revived of late and look like moving up the table. Lowly Morecambe seem to be staging a belated revival too and I fancy them to get a point or maybe more at Newport. Any views, The Dragon? |

Hey Foinavon,
I think thats a very good summastion of where we are at in this League and the only bet im tempted by is for Walsall to continue their wiining run at Cheltenham but i see its been postponed. Just a couple of interesting points to note are Bromley are defo on the up after a very poor spell and have only lost 5 games all season drawing 10 1nd wiinning 8- they are in my note book to keep an eye on andareaway at crewe on Sunday who have a high ratio of draws als. If on i fancy a draw in this game. Chesterfield continue to be a yo yo team form wise ans seem unable to put any consistant form together. If you recall they started the season as anre post favs and i can kick myself for not laying them as as far as i cd see there was no justification for the fav posi.Out of the last 8 games they have won 4 amd lost 4 which just proves my point. They have all to play for for a play off position with being just 3 points of the play off zone. They are home to a disappointing Gills so I expect them to win at 1.85 given their strong home form. Port Vale are in free fall having no wins and I expect them to struggle away at Doncaster. Re Newport and Morecombe you are right Morecombe have won 2 out of 3 recent games beating two lowly teams Tranmere and Carlilse and Newport have lost 3 on the bounce. Not one i wd back to be honest as really hard to tell how it may go. I am tending to bet on Div1 games more often this season as apart from Walsall the form lines tend to be more reliable |

Yes, I would agree. Chesterfield are finding the step up to be tougher than expected. Notts went through a bad patch having lost their two play makers to injuries. Dan Crowley is now back in the team and the improvement is noticeable. Jody Jones is on the bench after breaking a tibia against Gillingham 3 months ago. They should be an obstacle to Swindon's progress this weekend although a draw wouldn't surprise me.

By:
Two matches today which were mentioned on Friday. I've had small stakes on Morecambe to win and Crewe to draw. Salford did the business but only the one goal.
By:
4-1 crewe there you go totally unpredictable
![]() |
By:
Yes, 4 goals in 10 minutes of the first half (3-1) then park the bus. No shots on target then until the 80th minute when a Bromley player is double-carded. Fair play to Crewe, they had their Mornflakes this morning.
By:
full set of fixtures tonight and i have backed Salford and Bradford for a home win double.
Walsall continue to hold a large lead despite their defeat at Bradford at the weekend. gl if you have a bet |
By:
shd have added walsall look big at 6/4 away at fleetwood
By:
Walsall have lost their main striker Nathan Lowe but should still have enough firepower.
I think Swindon will beat Tranmere and I'm hoping for a goalless first half at Crewe. |
By:
agree with the swindon shout foin
gl |
By:
walsall 2 down in 17 mins -is the collapse on?
By:
swindon 0-1
By:
Yes, it looks like another night for the underdogs. Stevenage 2 up also in L1
By:
early doors but yup some serious shocks on the cards

By:
Carlisle are playing well at the moment although a goal down. They don't look like relegation material.
I looked at Swindon earlier, they look dire although Tranmere are now down to 10 men. |
By:
3 late goals from Swindon, Tranmere down to 9 men at the end.
No goals again from Walsall, lost the last two 3-0 and 2-0. Can they hang on to their lead at the top of the table? |
By:
going to make for an interesting run in if their form continues to dip Foin. Do you know how ling Lowe is out injured?
By:
Lowe was on loan from Stoke but has been recalled. He was in Stoke's line up at the weekend.
I already cashed out my league 2 winners even though I also had Notts and MKD. I would like to see Notts County win it and they have the defensive strength to do it but there are a lot of good teams in the pack, Wimbledon, Donny and Bradford for example. |
By:
ah okay cheers m8
my ante post bets were doncaster and mkdons. im letting them ride- you never know but mkd have had a poor season |
By:
Donny are back on track, lets see how they do against a rejuvenated Barrow tonight. MK Dons can hope for a playoff spot and have just acquired Dan Crowley who is a good play maker at this level but are too far adrift to win the league now.
By:
indeed. i had a look at the barrow game tonight but could not find anything that tempted to have a bet- a watching brief but hoping for a donny win.
By:
I think you are right to leave the Barrow game alone, it was my conclusion too.

By:
A scrappy first half hour then two quick goals in a minute the first from a set piece, the second a silly error from the kick off resulting in loss of possession by a Barrow defender. No real fluency from either side on a poor playing surface but Doncaster took the chances presented to them.
I think I've seen enough of this game now and will watch something else. |
By:
fair enough

walsall loding again wow
