Definitely better to have a playing bench on free hit i'd say, Honcho. They're pretty dead cheap anyway. Mukiele and Gudmundson for example just so you've got a good chance of 2 - 4 points if somebody misses out. Dubravka GK of course.

But agreed it's a great week to FH, LH. Lots of teams to target who have easy fixtures. Newcastle, Man City, Brighton.

The free hit feels like a double edged sword when it’s used on a full schedule game week. It would be a sickener if your ‘new’ team scored less points than your original team.

I played my free hit in 13 , it is easy enough to pick 4 cheap playing players for the bench
i didnt need them anyway , look at this week , a few popular players all rested , and there are european games midweek as well

It’s been three years, Emit since our Qatar World Cup Dream Team.

Will have to do the (and I’m sorry to say this, I know it really irks a few on here) Sun one again for this World Cup.

A pox be on Buendia, for two reasons.  1. I dropped him recently, 2. His 95th minute winner stuffed my correct score maiden break!  Sad  Tongue Out

Laugh   I know, but how could you put Spurs or Everton defenders in your team?

You got a bit lucky with Burn. 62 minutes played and keeps his clean sheet points. Not sure if I like that rule.

He was subbed though so fair to keep the clean sheet , if he was sent off he wouldnt keep the clean sheet
By:
LoyalHoncho
When: 06 Dec 25 17:18
I didn’t know that rule, ta.  As you say a shade lucky.

Learn something new every fricking day on here... Crazy

Went back to basics, Haaland Captain (Genius)

Salah benched again...

Seems to be a trend in changing the name of your team....Laugh

I think if your team concedes a goal then no clean sheet bonus should be given. Especially if you only played two thirds of the game!
By:
MrStrawMan
When: 06 Dec 25 17:23
How could that work , suppose a team is 4-0 down and a defender comes on after , does he start on -2 , there has to be a minimum figure otherwise does a defender get a clean sheet for playing 1 minute
By:
Emitdeb
When: 06 Dec 25 17:27
That's exactly how it works on other formats.. (and I like it that way) Happy

Another irony to my woe is that I have considered bringing in the penalty scorer but didn’t because I couldn’t see his fellow players giving him much ammo.  I never thought his opposition would either.  What a game.  At least I didn’t bottle bringing in Richarlison.
I did wonder how Burn got 6 points right enough.
What a game.

So a player loses points when he is not on the pitch in other games , that is crazy
By:
s.kenbo
When: 06 Dec 25 17:53
It’s not crazy. All the formats I used to play did that.

If a defender comes on and the team is losing, he loses the points, I don’t think you should get a point for a player playing two minutes either. Should be thirty imo.

Did FPl Fantasy do this from the outset? They’re going down the road of others now trying to ramp up the points. Too many boosters. Defensive contribution points. Last year they even added points for managers. I hope that isn’t coming back.
By:
MrStrawMan
When: 06 Dec 25 18:22
It has always been the rule since the start , yes there are too many chips now  , i dont get how a player can lose a clean sheet for when he isnt even playing  , so am i right in saying if a defender comes on in other games and the team is 6-0 down he gets all those goals against him even though he wasnt on the pitch , if that is right then does that same player  get a clean sheet for playing just 2 minutes if any goals conceded before he comes would have counted  against him
By:
s.kenbo
When: 06 Dec 25 18:40
Yeah, in others it used works that way. You could be cheering your defender to come on in injury time to get five easy points, or praying he doesn’t come on,

I was doing The Sun one in the days of having to ring your team through as most of us weren’t online then. Basic point scoring, players fee stayed the same and two transfer windows each season. Was great then.

I still enjoy this one and we all benefit from the easier point system.

Ekitike on my bench en route to selling him , can't possibly start him, just don't know whether he or Isak starts, total messCry

It’s very difficult for us to have him, Isak or Salah. Never know who’s gonna play. Best avoiding them all imo.

Thiaw in, cucarella and Keane on bench

Why don’t we have a mini-league to cover the second half of the season.?  FF can still do the point awarding etc, we just have to keep track.
It would keep us trailers interested.  We just take a note of points totals after game week 19, start in gameweek 20 taking away first half of the season points to give us accurate running points totals. Emit is good at publishing the leagues week by week with running totals.  I’d be happy to assist.

When: 06 Dec 25 19:37
There is a function to start a league on there at any time. I’m not sure if you’d all start on zero (as you’d want) or whether you’d carry over the points you’ve already got.
By:
MrStrawMan
When: 06 Dec 25 19:38
Yes you can start a new league and set it to start scoring from week 20
