You’re still a few thousand places behind Rosana then, Mes!

Wow what a woman

It is a tough game if you don’t make a good start. I feel like Sean Dyche!

If you make a poor start and gravitate to the best players then
those at the top already have them so you can't catch up. Of course it's about getting a decent finish, but... |
By:
Sell Salah, he isn't worth 14.5m
By:
Sell salah sign haaland lock in your loss.
By:
imho Haaland is the only premium player worth hiss price.
By:
Pretty much has been so.
But switching now is just redding up. |
By:
I have held Haaland from week 2, having decided on him ahead of and not with Salah, who is brilliant but seemed below his best. I ditched Palmer early too. Both good decisions but the ones I HAVE used haven’t done it. Add on a flopped wildcard and I am struggling, even with these three seemingly good decisions. As you say y-h-t-l, if the leaders keep fielding the same players as us the gap never reduces. But will they?
“I would just love it if,……..”. ![]() Not giving up is the secret. In position 23, I want to get to 22, etc; |
By:
It’s pathetic really. How many do like me and follow the scores hoping that the defences of other clubs concede so that they lose their scoring points?
Clutching at straws on a regular basis. ![]() Come on, be honest. I bet we all do it. |

Think I disagree Honcho, going for Haaland now when you're already behind isn't locking in a loss, it's trying to limit further damage, of course it's on the assumption that he keeps doing the business but at the moment he looks like a staple ingredient in any team.
I'm down there with you but am not worried one bit, there's plenty of time and nuance in the game to allow you to catch up, it's not as a simplistic thing as to say it's impossible to catch up because if a certain number of players keep playing well it can't be done. The Sun dream team was very much like that, but not this one, you've just got to say to yourself, I'll nick 3 or 4 points back from the leader each week in order to get there. Plenty of time left is the bottom line. |

If you make a poor start and gravitate to the best players then those at the top already have them so you can't catch up. That's what I was diagreeing with, you can score on the players they don't have and of course the same players won't score all of the time, hanging on to someone two weeks too long, not picking up on someone else early enough, there's plenty of variables to allow you to catch up, or of course to fall further behind. ![]() |
By:
Indeed that's another way to see it Duffy, but same thing really.
You can move up through others but 50% already have him If you want to beat the haaland teams you need him to fail and have somebody else. Or be very good with your other 10 whilst he makes hay. Problem is there are not a huge amount of viable options, and so many teams already have them covered. Betting against him looks futile. Always next year, and as you say try to be proactive enough to nick points regularly this season to do as well as possible. |
By:
It's not as simple as saying, oh well, they are the good players and if you have them you're ok and if you don't it's too late, the good players now may not be in a few weeks time, the playing field is always changing, I'm 120 odd behind the leader and rightly or wrongly I'm of the opinion that that is nothing, provided I do things right ( hard bit
) I can catch that up.No way is it a case of regardless of what I do as long as certain players perform then it's hopeless, if the game was as simplistic as that 10 million wouldn't be playing because it would mean it was broken IMO. |
By:
Meant to play free hit but have accidently chosen wild card, appears im now stuck with that mistake...
By:
120pts is massive, I'd give up and prepare for next season imo
![]() |
By:
I'm not trying to say that. They ain't any better players
than the rest, they just hit the right buttons early doors. I'm trying to catch up too, but catchup is a tough game. Stopping the damage is a good start. |
By:
mes,
A lot of people who are down the bottom do have that same defeatest attitude as you have exhibited there and very quickly there is a few million who are no longer playing so if you are down there and keep going you should have an easier time moving up through those people ![]() |
By:
Can't have a defeatist attitude when you're top 20k duffy
![]() What I said before still stands, if this wonder woman is top by 70pts? I'll torpedo in and usurp her, spare all your blushes ![]() |
By:
You're not likely to be doing that without a false tache and glasses though for fear of your anonymity being lost otherwise you would be risking us thinking that the real reason you didn't enter the league at the start was due to fear of failure rather than the silly reason you ofered up.
![]() |
By:
that's good bait there duffy, but I'll just change my name as you can do
![]() |
By:
Some people are slow to accept change.
Salah has scored 32 points in 6 appearances, he just isn't worth 14.5 million Palmer's injuries have limited his contribution to just 11 points. And a groin strain is a classic sign of muscle fatigue. With no summer break I predict a season of niggling injuries for young Cole. Bruno has scored just 25 points, has missed 2 penalties and now plays deep midfield for one of the worst teams in the league. He's never worth 9m There are much better midfielders than these knocking about. Semenyo Gravenberch Garner Anthony Enzo Caicedo Sarr Xhaka Most them don't play for big clubs but they do deliver point... even against the big clubs |
By:
Getting the vibe mes is keen to enter our league, 6 weeks in.
He's as slippery as a eel in water.. Had every opportunity at the start.. Same reason he quit dragons score comp few seasons back, all connected to his disorder. Imo. |
By:
He’d be instantly kicked out if he joined anyway! Those were the rules put in place early season. A week or so grace was given.
It would spoil his routine anyway. He loves popping in to tell us how good he is without having to prove a word of it. |
By:
There is no way he would enter even if he was allowed to IMO.
By:
There are much better midfielders than these knocking about.
Semenyo Gravenberch Garner Anthony Enzo Caicedo Sarr Xhaka GORDON is a shocking omission |
By:
Doku is the standout one ATM.
By:
Odegaard has come back to fitnees and going by the Olympiakos game, coming back to form as well, he's our captain and pretty sure Arteta prefers him over Eze in that 10 role, he's worth thinking about at £7.9 mil, decent enough Prem fixtures coming up as well.
By:
GORDON is a shocking omission
The list wasn't meant to be completely exhaustive |
By:
Gordon is a most understandable omission.
By:
7.4 for a midfielder on pens albeit with a habit
of picking up silly cards. Deffo one to consider. |
By:
He’s worth considering granted but for me he’s one of the”those”. Have him in and he disappoints, gets a card, whatever. Up to now at least.
I prefer Tonali who most toon fans have been praising recently. |
By:
First name on the sheet, in real football, he's different gravy.
but might not be so productive in fantasy points. |
By:
I loved watching him last night and his industry and tenacity combined with his ability make him look so special at times. If he turns that into consistency and manages the attitude I agree he would be very special.
By:
He's already there. Can we hang on to him.
By:
Right. You’re a good judge so I take your word for it.

The problem I've had with Newcastle attackers is game time, I've made mistakes already with them this season.
Barnes starts, then doesn't start, starts, then doesn't start, when he does start he's always subbed last 20 minutes or so, when he doesn't start he gets about that amount of times towards the end. Elanga doesn't often start prem games, but always looks a huge threat to me when he comes on, and looked top draw against Union Saint Gilloise in which he did start. Murphy seem to be the preference but he almost guaranteed to be hauled of every match after 60-70 mins. Got a lot of goals and assists last season but I don't have confidence in him playing out of skin like he did last year and expect Elanga to eventually start to start more games, who knows. Joelinton generally starts games but seems to do a lot of the dogs bodies work, a real team player but not a fantasy player Gordon seems to be the best option as he will start most games and more likely to play either the whole match or close to it and is a real genuine goal threat every game. For me he's a decent pick. In the the first 27 games last season he played 75 or more minutes in the league 23 times, then he was suspended, picked up a knock, and was a sub for most of the remainder of the season, but just played two 90 mins games in the CL so seems to be back up the pecking order in terms of player imporance, will serve Woltemade well. Started first two games of the this season, 90 v Villa, sent of v Liverpool, banned 3 games, back v Arsenal, played nearly 70. Tonali is definitely a 90 minute man, but he's not a fantasy player, will not get the goals and assists on a regular basis at all. Kind Regards. |
By:
Ty. All food for thought.
By:
Yeah, Gordon can also stay on and move into centre if woltemade is hooked.
Tonali is possibly 2nd only to Barnes in shooting ability. But he's playing more of a 6, so not getting too many shots. |

I love the fact that many commentators are using the numbers like 6 and 10 etc, to describe players and where they operate/play. Really, it is a recognition that after decades of misrepresentation, left half’s and inside lefts and their ilk are still the foundation of football.
