Thank God they've stopped talking about False 10s
By:
Have they?
By:
I think so, mind you I always watch with the sound off nowadays

Steve Bruce thought he was playing with 2 false 10s at Newcastle.
Made me laugh through dark days. Although the football did not. |

The glory days of the 70's are fast returning, now the all seeing Pep has abandoned the keeper who can use his feet mantra and is happy to let the other team have the ball which would have been heresy once upon a time they'll all be at it, before long the first requirement for any keeper will once again to be able to boot the ball as far down the pitch as possible.
I will be expecting to see Pat Jennings on MNF sometime soon analysing the highly technical aspect of hoofing the thing up the pitch ![]() |

Looks like Haaland is the obvious captain's choice again this week.

By:
Such wisdom.

Nobby now venturing on to every thread I post on seeking my posts out, actively trying to fish for a bite so he can press report, complains about stalkers when he actively stalks himself, how sad.

Logic is that you need to look for ways of beating haaland
in fantasy. I don't see a good bet this week, to do it So haaland is captain. Isak might have tempted me if I had him, or indeed salah,... gykores, who I had but sold for ekitike, would tempt me too. |
By:
Anyone that has Woltemade could tempted to captain him against that shambles of a defence against Forest at home.
By:
There is a temptation, folly IMO, particularly if you are behind, to try and get Haaland "beat" in order to make ground, but you probably end up losing more ground, atm he is a standout must have, so put him in if you haven't got him and make him captain when he is the obvious pick to do so.
By:
Aye, but he's not really getting 90 mins
and Gordon's on pens. |
By:
That's right Duffy.
But you have to consider these things. 14.5 million is a lot of money to then stick the armband elsewhere when he's in form. |

Wonder why Clarky9 was retired, he was probably done for stalking as well

I don't think there's anything wrong with going against Haaland for captain when Arsenal are playing home to West Ham (Saka, Gyokores) and even Man Utd home to Sunderland (Bruno, Mbeumo).

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot says it is "difficult" to say when goalkeeper Alisson will return from injury.
The Brazilian injured his hamstring during the Reds' 1-0 defeat by Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday. A report in the Athletic, external claimed the 33-year-old would be out of action for about six weeks, which would see him return after the international break in mid-November. But, after ruling Alisson out of Saturday's trip to Chelsea (17:30 BST), Slot was reluctant to put a timeframe on the goalkeeper's recovery. "It depends on how fast his recovery goes," said Slot. "So, Saturday it's clear [he's injured], he's not going to play for Brazil and I would be surprised if he would be there in the first game after the international break. "But from there on, sometimes things can go a bit faster or a bit slower. It's always difficult to say the amount of days and weeks, but for the upcoming games he will not be part of us or the Brazil team." |

I’ve missed the boat with Haaland but will stick to my guns. He started off well last year and then went on a poor run. That propelled my team up the league quite a bit until others decided to get rid, possibly a bit too late though. Surely he can’t continue like this.
I’ve never been a fan of captaining a forward. I’ve got Mbeumo this week. He’s due a haul! |
By:
I’m hoping that now he’s scored that Watkins will start to deliver regularly so I’ve brought him back in, kept Pedro as Liverpool’s defence is a bit dodgy at present and he might bag one at Anfield on the break and captained Haaland again. I don’t have the ability to foresee when his form will dip so have to keep playing him while he is in a groove. Am banking on an Arsenal/Bournemouth four man defence bringing in points. Am a bit lost on midfielders so an hoping for a bit of luck there this week.
Bournemouth keeping a clean sheet as I type so here’s hoping. G/L all. |

Another plan goes wrong. Goal for Fulham.

Semenyo. Again. Huge respect for those who i.d.’d this guy and played him from week 1.
By:
49 points before today’s kick off and he isn’t even on the 6 man list for player of the month?!
By:
Same players scoring points.
Not good for us chasers. Didn't have enough subs to get semenya Hey ho. |
By:
I twice decided he would be a flash in the pan and swerved him.

And another.

No Semenyo here either, Bournemouth wouldn't be able to score without him.

By:
Had Semenyo a while

Me neither, what a blow tonight, 3 involvements in last 20 minutes wow! He is last years Mbeumo, good player elevated to brilliant, and flies from 7 mil to 8 mil. He does have a tough 4 games coming up though so I'll continue to go without for now. Well done Nobby
By:
I was thinking of posting the same thing Medlyn. Yes, well done SNC.
By:
Semenyo you little beauty! Prime Mane from him at the moment
By:
It’s hard to stay away from the big name players. Some of the so called smaller teams have the odd star man in their midst.
By:
Look at the actual league table. Some 'little' clubs are doing very well. They have teams packed full of real athletes who are very well coached. The days of the big 6 are over.
By:
That’s why I said ‘so called’. The league after six games will look completely different come the end of the season though.
By:
I can see Palace finishing in the top 6
By:
Where's Nobby in this league table ? how many points?
By:
That’s privileged information!
By:
I plummeted way below 50k after Semenyo's performance yesterday, 3 of his next 4 games are away though to Palace, City and Villa, will no doubt fill his boots at home to Forest however. He does seem to be this season's fantasy football's lovechild.
By:
An 18 point swing with 11m players will see people move up/down thousands of places.
By:
I bit the bullet and ditched Richarlison to bring back Watkins, and the Spur is on the bench. He could conceivably come on later but a good move nonetheless (it would seem).
