I think he was told to keep his trap shut and leave it to the suits.

I don’t know why he was not sent out on loan for a year and then reintegrated. The only issue is if his fellow players want him back or gawn.

"An unnamed team in Albania is the only club interested in signing Mason Greenwood after it was announced the England forward, 21, would not play for Manchester United again. (Sun)"

See what happens between him and the Mrs. now. He may have been advised to make amends to save his career and stay at united. That was on the cards until only a few days ago. Now he will have to emigrate. Will she go with him/will he take her with him?

It is very strange that they are still together and had a kid after what has been alleged, whether there was something or nothing to it, unless it was done to save his career. I would side with him not being guilty on the basis of what Arnold said and them having a kid but who knows? I wouldn't expect them to stay together now if it was done to save his career.

I may be wrong here, but I can't recall at any stage, any Manchester United player coming out and saying anything positive about Greenwood.

I don't think even before this that he was popular with his team mates, as I said I could be wrong.

Lurka - UNLESS they come out and explain what happened, which they may or may not feel they are able to do (depending on how incriminating it is for either party or how bad a light it paints them in).  It certainly isn't just going to go away on its own.  It's all too public yet not public at the same time, which is what is leading people to create their own theories (particularly when so little of it stacks up).

There's an article in The Mail online suggesting Greenwood is very immature, has problems telling right from wrong and wasn't popular with his teammates. I must admit I don't usually believe much of what I read in the Mail tbf.but this is well-written and in a relatively unsensational way.
By:

When: 26 Aug 23 10:11
That may be part of the issue with the team Salmon.

From memory I think many defriended him on Facebutt very quickly.

Tbf I have little sympathy for any  of the parties involved the two young people, the club, the CEO.

There was a piece last week saying the dressing room was mixed about having him back, with his supporters essentially being those who came through the youth team with him.

Not quite the same but Fergie called him the most exciting English prospect, alongside Phil Foden.

For his sake he needs to get back playing.

Rather play in Albania than lose development
If push comes to shove.

So much speculation about what is going on in the dressing room and about offers from Albania.

Unusual for MUFC and their players to suddenly get talkative.
By:

When: 26 Aug 23 12:10
That story in the Mail may well be "inspired" by somebody in MUFC. Given what we know about Greenwood, apart from "the incident". it does sound plausible though. That he has shortcomings as a human being doesn't of course detract from him being potentially a massive talent.

Indeed, and the lads future is the most
important thing.

It's been poorly handled and is being used
by any Tom, dick, and Harry to slag the
club, and boost online traffic.

He sounds like just an immature not very bright young lad ,did laughing gas with Foden remember, shouldn't really be in a relationship at that age maybe ,but clubs pressure these young lads to settle down as they don't want them running around nightclubs chasing skirt like most of us were at that age .

Wonder if Rachel has an opinion on the big red flag of the alleged victim withdrawing the accusation against, getting back with and having a kid with her alleged attacker?
Doubt we'll ever hear it if she does.

I didn’t think they would sell him!

I fully expect him to play for United again. I do not have a problem with that. I think he should have been sent out on loan as soon as the case against him collapsed. Might work out well for him as when his contract is up he can go for a free and a big signing on fee or a new contract at United. I expect him to do well at Getafe.

Has it even entered Rachel's head that neither the (no longer-) alleged victim nor Greenwood want to emigrate to another country but now one or both of them will have to because of empty vessels like her? She seems to think she knows more about what went on than the alleged victim. They want to be left alone with a young child to bring up.

In such cases of abusive & coercive control, the "victims" do not see themselves as victims.

He hasn't been sold Crazy
ManU contract until 2025.
He won't play again for ManU - not while Rachel is still alive. Laugh

Although she has been very vocal about this matter Riley as not seen or heard all the evidence. Her information comes from the tabloids.

Greenwood, having been charged by the CPS was then denied the opportunity to clear himself in court when the CPS dropped their charges.

That everything has been reconciled by those actually involved suggests this was a domestic issue blown out of all proportion by  social media.

have none of you heard the audio ? where he was trying to force himself on his girlfriend when she wasn't interested, and in general sounded like an absolute pr1ck, that's what Riley meant when she said 'we've all heard enough'. Yet all the caveman forum posters are trying to stick up for him and bring her down, laughable! God help that child with a dad like that, he's going to have to live with it for the rest of his life, whether or not he was guilty of rape, his reputation is finished. The only reason why United initially tried to 'reintegrate' him was because of money, an asset they thought they could sell eventually before they realised he's just damaged goods hence now willing to let him go on a free to wash their hands off him. The more Rachel Riley's in the world and less Greenwood's (deadwood), the better.

We'll never know the full story other than speculate based on the evidence which is out in the public domain - which is very damning.

What is surprising is that the happy couple have never decided to put their side of the story by doing a media charm offensive.

scandanavian_haven If the audio was so damning then why didn't the CPS proceed with the case?
By:
tobermory
When: 03 Sep 23 13:53
The audio was likely fake, and likewise the photo.

The charges were dropped because 'significant new information' was discovered.

What else could the new info be?

Other than the police did device analysis and found that different conversations had been spliced together, or that things were edited out of a longer conversation.
By:
scandanavian_haven

spliced!

nobody from his camp has ever come out and denied it, that's the first thing you would do to salvage your reputation, there's been no refutation at all, it's irrelevant whether it's enough for court, who wants a character like that at your club.

Err he pled not guilty in court.

scandanavian_haven there's been no refutation at all,

“I want to start by saying I understand that people will judge me because of what they have seen and heard on social media, and I know people will think the worst.

"I was brought up to know that violence or abuse in any relationship is wrong, I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all charges. However, I fully accept I made mistakes in my relationship, and I take my share of responsibility for the situations which led to the social media post.

Clearly had a barny and doubtful she cut herself.

Blown out of proportion by her social media rants.

Clearly, also, she was not scared of him.

Now Antony is in same boat, and what does Rachel think?

She's ditched her Ryan giggs shirt, good to hear

Vut I see a bit of a pattern that Rachel is struggling with
