strange with Kane...even when he doesn't score with Spurs he adds a lot dropping deeper linking play, holding it up well allowing runners from MF etc...when he isn't scoring for Eng he often looks a passenger...though he'd have a lot of company this evening..not sure anyone would have got even a 6...

All the hype about Sancho at Dortmund, what good did it do him? Now they are doing the same thing with Bellingham. He might still do well at international level, but the media neede to wise up and give him a chance to develop.

I still think his refusal to drop Mount will cost them in the big game
He’s good at plotting a favourable route but Mount ... |

Good summation Brentford. Sadly Southgate is clueless and he has a soft spot for a few players who simply arent performing at this level. Leaving Sterling and Saka on the pitch that long, and then substitutions that brought on Henderson and Rashford was cringeworthy.

Sadgate only keeps the job and got it because he is a yes man total ass licker and Woke w anker his tactics are so boring so hard to watch sucks the life out of the players does not get the best out of them . Brian clough will be spinning in his grave greatest manager never to get the England job because he was not a yes man sadgate will employ the same tactics against Wales for another borefest

We’ve seen what that group can do when the shackles are off
It’s ridiculous he continues to play this way with em |

There is nothing any quality player can do under Southgate. He is the problem. That's why they all look shíte unless playing against minnows and if he gets a win in game 1 he's cautious after that, like against Scotland in the Euros. But he hasn't got a clue how to use HGrealish, Foden etc
|

And as for the w anker matterface …. How on earth does he get any gigs we have had such great commentators in the past he would not be fit to wipe there boots

Pickford England's best player even though he did feck all

I also felt Kane dropped off too deep tonight, but I think he realised early doors that the service from Saka or Sterling was going to be non existent, and it was, I should think deep down Kane was probably angry with the team selection but he cant speak out against Southgate.
|

By:
Southgate had 3 pressing much of game
Sterling, Kane and mount, with saka behind Why not saka, with mount behind? |
|
By:
If I was Phil Foden I would pack my bags and head-off to Dubai for the next 2 weeks because if he didn't get on the pitch after 70 minutes of that sh!te then he never will under Southgate.
|
|
By:
No sure what Foden could have added.(to that performance tonite)
We needed a ball winner, maybe Phillips was best idea as first sub, with saka, or sterling getting the hook... Then Foden to replace the other of saka or sterling. They were passengers most of the night. |

When he asked about Foden he visibly writhed in discomfort

send the POS down the road to the Taliban..slit the pencilneck's throat and buy one get one free..evisceration as well..total wimp

Did anyone hear him say 'We built from the back well'?
If he did,I watched a different game to him tonight. A very negative performance. |

By:
he's benching players picked week in and week out by Guardiola, Klopp and Conte, took Middlesbrough down, there's no credentials for this job. The 4-0 Hungary loss was the writing on the wall, they've stopped listening to him. Luckily for him there's no English manager available that is a half decent coach as the FA are probably done with the overpaid foreign route.

He is a league 1 manager, maybe bottom half championship.

People say he's got them playing together and united etc. It's bollócks, England were always one of the best at beating inferior sides. It's not a barometer of progress. They were unbeaten under Hodgson in 20 qualifiers, won 10 out of 10 qualifying for the euros in 2016.
90% of what he's achieved is down to soft draws. Not sure I'd want Ecuador over Holland. |
|
By:
Ecuador would destroy England's defence.

They should still beat Ecuador or Holland but asking to be beaten if they play like tonight. Kane drops into midfield in games like tonight and Italy because the midfield and wide players are doing nothing and he's not getting on the ball. It's a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself. Against Italy he was goal side of the centre circle because the midfield had regressed to 30 yards out.
At one point Rice brought the ball forward from the edge of England's box past 2 Italy players, beating their press and he was the furthest man forward! Then Southgate took him off! Italy had one man on the halfway line and the other defenders were 10 yards inside England's half for the first part of the second half (until they scored). I had never seen a backline that advanced before. |

Needed some magic from deli Alli or Wilshire and the team be firing all angles!!
|

Stirling, Mount , Rashford and Henderson are way overated and were shown to be tonight. Grealish must start if only to increase the chances of free kicks and pens as he falls about like Charlie Carolli. Foden and even wilson could improve this forward line. Saka has some idea of taking people on but not sure he is at this level yet, ditto Bellingham.
Mcguire Pickford and Stones saved us tonight. |

Newcastle v Chelsea last season at SJP. Chelsea defenders were 20 or more yards inside our half second half Grahame Jones managing. Was helping Southgate at euros.. |

Its the way he sets up the team, the way he has them at walking pace
He actually played for a draw, a 0-0 and he was so happy at the final whistle, so chuffed in his interview I thought he was going to hug the interviewer The blokes a kn ob |

Glad I didn't waste two hours of my life watching this absolute tripe. Any half decent team will knock England out of this competition.
