bearing in mind that this is the sole sport the USA devotes its full attention to and they have 5 times our population to choose from
we're doing fairly well to still be at parity albeit being totally outplayed |

France, Spain and Brazil are just on a different level, that England performance was reminiscent of Iceland 2016 where they looked to scared to even make a pass.

if you listened to Southgate pre match in his press conference, he was speaking with a lot of fear, he's translated that to the players, all this 'have we ever beaten America in the World Cup before as we were talking about some kind of footballing powerhouse ffs. It's crying out for a manager like Howe, brave and attacking.

It's just not natural for us being able to pass the ball at pace and be comfortable in possession popping it about...technically we're just not capable.

Looks like Most goals 2nd half has a good chance now. Glad I didn't do match odds, as i thought England would win. They still might, but it's going to be a nervy night for England backers. Best hope is that USA gas in the 2nd half like they did against Wales.

The attacking threat we seen from the yanks was pretty much expected. What wasn't expected was that they'd be allowed to simply coast through a full half without being tested at the back. Incredible if the same happens in the 2nd..
