Don’t shoot the messenger chaps, but rumours circulating that sevco's losses could top £30M this season
, last years £15M losses were announced in November last year, so we might see soon enough. Getting booted out of Europe before Crimbo would add to your financial woe's, so there is a bit of pressure there and then there is Sir Mike Ashley, who is nearing a bumper payout from all the court cases against sevco he's won. ![]() Apparently one the reasons there is an alarming escalation in losses this financial year is that the Close Brothers called in all their sevco loans in August this year, meaning any spare cash that was hidden in biscuit tins around Ibrox had to be raided to pay the debts, thus leaving young sevco cash poor. Selling players in the January transfer window seems inevitable, but how much are you going to get for the once prolific and now ex-international Morelos and the off the boil Kent? It’s all a bit worrying for the 9 year old club. ![]() |

The future of Scottish football is surely a worry, will it end up like the Irish and Welsh leagues, I hope not, but fear it might.
|
|
By:
Irish and Welsh leagues are getting better
Sahmrock Rovers close to making group stages of conference league and Bohs had a great run too Barry Town and back in the LOW premier division and Colwyn have switched from the english system, need to get merthyr to do the same wonder would a celtic league combining the four work? |
|
By:
No chance GH. As long as the OF stay in Scotland it'll thrive.
Both teams suffered losses due to Covid but ignore the doom and gloom from the 'experts' who don't know how to interpret a balance sheet. |
|
By:
Irish teams have performed better than the non-old firm scottish teams in Europe over the last 15 years or so
|
|
By:
Both Kilmarnock and Dunfermline had reasonable success in the mid to late 60s.
I remember watching Killie trying to overturn a 3-0 away defeat to Eintracht. Went a goal down early in the home tie but went on to win 5-1. |
|
By:
i wonder what a welsh league with Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham, Newport and Wrexham would be like
|
|
By:
It would be quite unique with Wrexham fielding 2 teams.

If/when Stevie G departs Glasgow, the calibre of his replacement will be a real sign of the direction Scottish football takes. Celtic have replaced Brendan Rogers with two significantly inferior managers.
|
|
By:
He'll certainly go at some stage but I've never thought about his replacement.
I'd imagine it'll be whatever manager in Scotland has his team performing well versus an Angie type of appointment. |

A couple of goals from the Rangers players in the WC qualifiers.
Sakala scored the opener for Zambia in a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea. Whilst Balogun scored first for Nigeria in a 2-0 victory away to the Central African Republic. Reports that Balogun picked up an injury but hopefully he'll be okay for the Hearts game. |

What the new Edmiston House will look like.
Cost to be around the £10m mark and funding in place. Not bad for a club seemingly skint according to our resident thinks-he-know-it-all-but-knows-nothing poster. ![]() [ This image is no longer available. ] |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlY5hq4ZILA SG loves the taste of champagne and loves Ibrox. He doesn't think much of Celtic btw. He's using sevco as a stepping stone, he has no allegiance to your club and will leave you in massive debt, whilst he personally has about £70M in the bank ![]() ![]() https://ethnicelebs.com/steven-gerrard |

Stevie G, 3rd favourite at the moment for the Newcastle job on the exchange
![]() Steven Gerrard refused to rule himself out of the running for the Newcastle job and said he was ‘looking in with interest’ following the Saudi-led takeover. Sportsmail reported last week that the Rangers boss was part of discussions among the consortium, especially given his links to their football advisor Frank McParland, the former Liverpool chief scout. It is thought that Gerrard would be interested in making the move to Tyneside, and he did little to quieten such talk when pressed on the matter on Friday. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/ article-10095737/Steven-Gerrard-looking-Newcastle.html |

Much needed win tonight and the performance would suggest we can win in Denmark in the next game.
2-0 flattered Brondby who didn't create many chances. Superb first half with the foot taken off the gas in the second. Mixed results from VAR though. I thought Roofes goal offside until VAR proved otherwise but how he penalty wasn't given is strange. Bit of a concern with Baloguns injury which leaves us with only one natural centre back in Europe if he's out for any length of time. Simpson available for the domestic games though. |
