Prize money

Similar to the UEFA Champions League, the prize money received by the clubs is divided into fixed payments based on participation and results, and variable amounts that depend of the value of their TV market.[19]

For the 2018–19 season, group stage participation in the Europa League awarded a base fee of €2.920,000. A victory in the group pays €570,000 and a draw €190,000. Also, each group winner earns €1,000,000 and each runner-up €500,000. Reaching the knock-out stage triggers additional bonuses: €500,000 for the round of 32, €1,100,000 for the round of 16, €1,500,000 for the quarter-finals and €2,400,000 for the semi-finals. The losing finalists receive €4,500,000 and the champions receive €8,500,000.[20]
Preliminary round: €220,000
First qualifying round: €240,000
Second qualifying round: €260,000
Third qualifying round: €280,000
Play-off round elimination: €300,000
Base fee for group stage: €2,920,000
Group match victory: €570,000
Group match draw: €190,000
Group winners: €1,000,000
Group runners-up: €500,000
Round of 32: €500,000
Round of 16: €1,100,000
Quarter-finals: €1,500,000
Semi-finals: €2,400,000
Losing finalist: €4,500,000
Winners: €8,500,000

ON THIS DAY in 1964, Scot Symon’s Rangers sealed a superb 2-0 away win at Rapid Vienna to progress to the quarter-finals of the European Cup.

Leading by a Davie Wilson goal-to-nil from the Ibrox first leg, Rangers looked to have a tough evening on their hands at the home of the Austrian champions, but their hopes were given a massive boost as Jim Forrest put the visitors ahead after just 19 minutes.
Into the second half, and Davie Wilson repeated his feat from the first leg to set up a tie with Italian giants Inter Milan in the last eight, but for all the efforts of the two goalscorers, the headlines for the evening were stolen by Jim Baxter.

On what was a bitterly cold evening in Vienna, Baxter time and again lit it up with a performance of the highest order, totally tormenting Rapid full-back Walter Skocik with his performance.
But his brilliance was to come back to haunt him, with Skocik becoming fed-up with Baxter, and eventually launching a savage tackle
on him late in the game, thus breaking his leg and all-but ending his first spell at Rangers.

The loss of the team’s star player was a massive blow, and Rangers narrowly lost out to Inter in the quarters losing 3-1 away before only winning the Ibrox leg 1-0.

Pleae spell VILLARREAL correctly or I will have them score 10 goals against you LaughLaughLaughCrazy

Subs lost at home 0-1 to Girona last night.  2 home losses 1 away goalless draw.
Doesn't bode well for coming to Ibrox.

I'd take a draw now but a Moreles hat trick would open the bubbly. I just hope that thug Brown's illegal tackles don't go unpunished.

Celtic got the possession but basically clueless. Anything bar a defeat would suit so we can reach that lucky number.

On the not so bright side we could have played with Fort William's two strikers and it wouldn't have been noticed. Stevie had no plan B.

On the bright side we don't have to improve much to challenge Celtic.

And for what it's worth had we had a Graeme Souness  at his peak in the midfield we would have nicked it. (IMHO)

The facts are; you sit 7th (Seventh) in the bottom half of the SPL table, have made the worst start to a season in over 30 (Thirty) years and are up to your eyeballs in debt (AGAIN Cry). Stevie G blaming the refs once more shows that he is demonstrably too immature for the position he presently occupies. Don't be fooled that by qualifying for the Europa group stages you have progressed, the route you took to get there was akin to the route England took to get to the WC semis, ie via Easy Street.

I'll make a prediction, Steven Gerrard will not be the Manager of a single Sevco game in the year 2019.

Sevco were absolute garbage. If Pedro or Warburton put out that crap they would of been slaughtered. Playing for 0-0 from the start. Long ball rubbish. Woodwork 4 times, McGregor 3 or 4 world class saves, Eduord missed sitter, could of easily been 5 or 6-0. Different players, same shiite.

McGregor should of been sent off, Lafferty pretending to be hurt was laughable. Gerrard should let McAllister take the after match interviews. Ludicrous comments. As if a referee five yards away is going to take the word of a 4th official on the touchline. Bonkers.

Agree rangers still have a long way to go but luckily for them, this is the worst celtic team in living memory, and they are only fooling their gullible support because they have had no opposition for the last 7 seasons.

McGregor should have got a red for lashing out even though he hardly made any contact despite the overacting from the celtic player.

He has to learn that even though the other player deliberately kicked him twice leading up to that, he was giving the officials an excuse to punish him.

Also I seem to remember a special panel being set up to deal with Jelavic after a dive in an o;d firm match.
Assuming the FA ignore all the other dives by celtic players, they can't possibly ignore the blatant dive into the box by the young celtic sub who showed what celtic seem to practise in training.

Anyway there's still a long way to go and this rangers team can still get better.
I'm not sure the same can be said for the ref's team.

Don't think Celtic have much to worry about from the "improved" Sevco. We could easily have been watching Celtic v Kilmarnock or Livingston with yesterday's backs to the wall display. They should be focussing on quality not quantity. Worst league start in 30 years but hey ho they're "closing the gap".

SG merely employing tactics to suit on the day.
Played 30 mins with 9 men then a long tiring journey home.
But for the help of the referee we'd have got our well earned draw.
Watch us go after the break. Rested players and Coulibaly and Dorrans back from injury.
