Mudryk move now looks more probable than just possible.

Big game on Sunday. A point or more would be nice, though it’s the one game of the season they will raise themselves for and our record there is woeful. Any optimism engendered by our start to the season is tempered by the fact they’ve handed the whistle to the dreadful Craig Pawson.

Mudryk now off to Chelsea, apparently. One of the more interesting transfer sagas…..

whoring himself out to us for months and wasn't genuine about joining us in the end, just wanted to get out of Ukraine. Bullet dodged and not the player Chelsea need. Yet another No 10 with no No 9s for them. Silly fee too.

Would be great to stuff Spurs tomo and go 8 clear. Would be a big statement.

He may well turn out to be a fabulous player, but that price - and those wages up to 2030 are eye watering. Frustrating to have pursued him for so long and lose out, but the right decision to walk away.

To my mind, with ESR coming back, I would have thought our needs were greater in midfield and centre back, assuming we lose bodies at some stage. I hope they don’t make a panic forward signing in the aftermath of this.

Absolutely bonkers.
Has to be the most expensive player in the world that hardly anyone has ever heard of imo.
To go from nowhere to just shy of £100m is barking.
Could easily turn out to be another Pepe now all the hype & expectation will be on his shoulders.

man escaped war torn Ukraine only to land himself an 8 and half year stretch with Warden Potter.

Good luck to him…I feel this is going to be one of those situations where a new manager comes in and doesn’t fancy him or have the patience to develop him.

I would like to know how good the kid is. Can’t be held to ransom and over pay. We will be linked with World Class forwards soon enough. Chelsea will not be in Champions league next season. Young Danilo might be required and available. What is the score with Vlahovic?

Keep on going. Don’t make excuses. Winning mentality combined with having fun. Average age of squad is 24. Do not need to upset the apple cart. Strengthen where necessary when the right player is available

Rumoured we offered 50k a week then Chelski came in with 100k a week for 8 years!

Not hard to see why his head turned.

100k a week sounds very low for someone commanding that fee...50k sounds like a pi$$ take...
By:
Wesdag
When: 15 Jan 23 20:02
Yeah but the fee was ridic - should've been half that.

Chelski paid way over the odds for such an unproven player.

I heard that Odegaard is only on about 80k currently.

Unproven layers shouldn't just go from buttons to 100k overnight - unless of course it's despo Chelski.

I'm glad we were not held to ransom and it sends out a message to other clubs as well that we'll pay what we consider value and fair and not what they do, his wages would have upset the dressing room as well being paid higher than established players like Saka etc. Predicted we'd win 0-3 today so was never worried but next week at home to United is much more of an acid test, we owe them one for Old Trafford where we we played well but lost. Tickets must be like gold dust atm.

Great win yest. Chelsea are signing these players on 6-8 year contracts, so they can account for the fee over a longer period. They prob can't afford them all under FFP otherwise. 100k a week is more than affordable for us but a contract that long would have been a problem and the wage just shows how silly the fee is. A player costing that much should be on at least twice that. Jesus is on 265k, Partey 200k and Zinch 150k reportedly. Saka, Odegaard and Martinelli will be on 100k+ soon if they aren't already.

I think we've dodged a bullet and cost a rival tens of millions in the process. There is obviously plenty to spend on the right player and hopefully we can get one in this window.

Yep, way over-priced based on what he's done up until now.

Imagine LFC get Gakpo for £35m & this dude is going for nearly 3 times as much?

Bonkers.

Really good performance yesterday, and a few observations.

It is a great stadium to watch football, to be fair. Atmosphere was predictably febrile, but more toxic than usual. I don’t understand why their fans felt the need to boo all our black players (it wasn’t just Thomas) throughout, but that’s where we are, I suppose. Didn’t see the shenanigans at the end as too far away, but I’m guessing even the Met won’t have too much trouble identifying the ginger lad having seen it on replay…

The normal reaction after a derby, especially if you lose, is to berate your own. Spurs actually aren’t a bad team - though Sessegnon (attacking) and Kane were good. The game had gone before they got on the front foot and it felt as though we still had another gear.

United is now a massive game. I’d like us to be more cautious on this one as they picked us off on the counter at OT and the same thing could happen again.

Very true but the belief is there now.

Danilo gone to Forest £18 million.  Seems strange after what we were lead to believe but I am thinking maybe Arsenal are waiting to get players the end of their contracts but the right fit and age. Perhaps someone like Tielemans though I would prefer Douglas Luis. Perhaps also someone like Vlahovic but I expect his wages would be too much.

It has gone very quiet even in the rumour mill, which. I am hoping might be a good sign.

Trossard now being linked. Price will be hefty as there are other interested parties. Not sure I’d want a player who has downed tools coming into the group.

I think Arsenal should up the bid on Trossard to around £80 million and then let Chelsea outbid them.

There was a scene in one of those old films possibly Demetrius and the Gladiators where one guy said he had his eyes on a pair of beautiful Egyptian female slaves who were identical twins for his wife. The big I AM wanted to show his status and kept out bidding our guy. The prices got crazy and the big I Am showed everybody he was the big I Am and paid 5,000 sesterces, a jaw dropping sum that had the crowd gasping. Our protagonist then bought Victor Mature….Demetrius for 50 Sovs and the big I Am, having done his nuts looked on in absolute rage as he knew he had just been played.

Downed tools such is his desire to play for The Arsenal. Cool

The desire to play for the Arsenal is something I can stomach. It’s the downing tools that worries me. Quite a lot older than our current pool too….

£21m for someone with 116 Premier League games under his belt vs £89m for someone who has 57 games in his career, mostly in Ukraine.

it's a good signing, we don't need mega signings at this point to upset the apple cart, grandfather mes used to tell me that Man City signing Rodney Marsh was the end of City winning the title when he joined them when they were top of the league half way through the season.

If, and I know it's a big if, Spurs held on and we won our game in hand against Utd, we'd have been 11 points clear.  As it is, I'm still waiting for the slump in form, bearing in mind 2 or 3 draws could be enough to topple us.

Just back from the game. Terrific match which United contributed to greatly.

Thought we were a bit headless in the first half, loads of endeavour, little thought with the final pass. Battered them at the end and it was one of those games where you couldn’t see the winning goal coming.

Despite the points total, it’s still up in the air. City are a formidable force, and if we lose first choice midfielders to injury, we could struggle. Happy days though…..

We've got a lot of kind fixtures til April bar City, it's important to put out our strongest possible team in the FA Cup match against them on Friday as it'll be a psychological blow to the team if they lose.

Arsenal’s latest signing!

Holy Mary mother of God

……..and she comes with the bonus of her boyfriend is a decent centre back but quite frankly after seeing a video of her in action, K don’t particularly care. She is a cracker! Well done Mikel!
