One point from 4 games could really look like a collapse.

Villa could so easily have gone 3-2 up but for a finger tip save flicked into the crossbar.

Fine response by Arsenal. A proper team this season.

Yes bit of luck extra time header by villa keeper but they kept going and just about deserved it. I didn't think they looked like Champions today though. If City stay near their best they will win it.

great win against a difficult footballing side, pressure on City now, though even with fatigue they should be battering Bournemouth.

Another win on the road. Leicester were pretty average yesterday to be fair. They are capable of much better than that. Definitely missed Maddison.

Very big week coming up. Everton will be harder than it looks on paper. Bournemouth also scrapping for survival.

Pleased he experimented with Trossard in that position yesterday. I’ve never thought he was an out and out winger. He has great ability to pick a pass in tight areas. And lots of teams will pack their defence from now on.

You have to say we have a great chance of at least pushing City close. Perhaps it’s the 19 years of comparative underachievement that says, to me at least, that we’ll come up short eventually. I must try and be a bit more optimistic.

Hope ESR can get some minutes soon. I’ve missed that lad……

We have a much better chance now with Trossard & Jorginho coming in.

If Jesus comes back with his early season form then we'll go very close.

I think Trossard will be a big plus. He seems to have bags of confidence allied to the Brasillians organisation and determination. I think it is all about confidence for Arsenal and the young guns need to play without fear, leave that to the fans. They can and should play the way they did before Christmas. Short of a striker of course but who knows what the politics or finance is. Maybe there will be one in the summer.

There will be quite a few more games like this before the end of the season, I suspect. The teams at the bottom end will, understandably,  just pack their defence. Almost worked for Bournemouth who put in quite the shift. Pleased for Nelson, once the brightest and best at Hale End, and to see ESR back, though he looked off the pace. Class is permanent though.

Quite an atmosphere today. Closest I’ve ever heard it to Highbury.

Great win yest and some goal to win it. Will only add to the belief of the players. 4 from 4 since the City loss without playing at top level imo. Starting to believe we can win it for the first time but an amazing season and improvement even if we don't.

Don't think we are near the level of the City/Pool sides who got 90+ points yet we are on course for a total like that. So, I think there's plenty of room for improvement too over the next few seasons as the players get more experience and CL football and hopefully the title this season.

City played some stuff yesterday and Arsenal are not near as good as when City are on it but they have a great nucleus to build on who are young and that is helping to develop an “ US “ mentality.

I remember seeing Saka as a “ boy “ and thinking what a player he was going to be. He is growing into a man and is quite extraordinary unfortunately City have more than one of similar kwality.

Still don’t believe we will do it. But some amazingly memorable days at The Emirates. I just don’t think we have the depth of squad to deal with too many more injuries. Europa League is a real hindrance. Should get Top 4 in any even, so no real incentive, if being brutally honest.

We’re not far off our points total for last season already. It’s been a big leap forward this season. And hopefully, even the most begrudging will now admit that Arteta has some coaching ability and can bring the best out of players.

I rate our chances as 50/50 but results like yesterday will build belief.

If we can get past the Liverpool fixture in 4 games time and still be 5 points ahead, then it's in the bag.

The difference this year with the EL is it is not plan B for CL qualification and it doesn't need to be prioritised. Playing Thursday is a massive hindrance in terms of recovery. It is a comp we could win but should be binned in the circumstances.

Agree Thursday night Europa League Cup matches a real problem for Arteta. Seven matches he doesn't need with the risk of injury depleting the squad, but Arsenal have a very realistic chance of winning it. The Premier League, Man city such a good bet at around 2.1, away at Brighton, home to Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are the tough ones and Arsenal have to play away at Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle. With the five point lead, it makes the Man City vs Arsenal the key match and Arsenal's record against City is dreadful.

Conversely if Citeh do not beat Arsenal the tables are turned back on them!

Then of course there is the points deduction for cheatingWink

I think the players believe. That is half the battle even against superior opposition. Defence needs to tighten up of course.

Leandro Trossard made a niche bit of Premier League history on Sunday as he provided three assists in Arsenal’s 3-0 win at Fulham.

The January signing from Brighton laid on three goals for the Gunners, with Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard all netting from his assists.

In doing so, the Belgian became the first player ever in the Premier League to provide three assists in the first half of a match away from home, according to Opta.

What a bargain basement signing Cool

Keep winning in March.

A win at Liverpool really turns the table on Citeh but then they will probably keep winning too. 5 points does not leave the chaser much room for error so all to play for. It’s a game of countdown now.

lol, how many times have we heard that over the years, the players 'they could have signed', Hazard, Suarez, Rivaldo, etc, I don't think they've ever signed a World Class player in their prime. Reminded me however of some true stories over the years, Jack Walker turned down Zidane as according to him it would have been a pointless signing considering they already had Tim Sherwood, Sam Allardyce almost signed Lewandowski for Blackburn but the flight over got cancelled due to the Icelandic volcano, and we are ourselves had Yaya Toure on trial and let Zlatan go because Wenger asked him to do a trial in the year 2000, and Zlatan didn't do auditions, ffs. Then of course there was Arsenal fan Kane, let go by Liam Brady - He was released after one season for being "a bit chubby" and not "very athletic", according to Liam Brady who was then in charge of Arsenal's academy.[22] M

Arsenal have been fantastic this season, a real pleasure to watch. Some of their play in the first half against Fulham was breathtaking. Any other opponents and would be confident we are going on to win the league. City have a far easier set of fixtures and suprisedthey are as big as 2.4 in a two horse race as apart from us and Brighton, difficult to see where they might drop points.

Off to the Emirates, but in all honesty I’m a bit ‘meh’ about tonight. A win will be a win. But to undergo more Thursday ties when the prize is effectively the same as Top 4 isn’t enticing.

Looking at remaining fixtures I still have City as favourites. Palace on Sunday is a big fixture. Need to go into the international break with an 8 point lead to give ourselves a chance.

why not play Tierney and make use of him? why keep exhausting Zinchenko, seems he doesn't rate him and will probably offload him in the summer, he's always looked good to me when he plays.

Bit of a shame last night but not the end of the World. I am a firm believer in Cup runs for morale and focus . That being said maybe it is a good thing. The squad is a little thin on top quality unlike Manchester. One game at a time. 5 points is still a big lead. If Arsenal were 5 points behind it might look insurmountable. Arsenal need to build the pressure so come the day Citeh must beat them.

Just got back. Brilliant atmosphere as for the last few games.

Palace were obdurate for the first 30 minutes, had some situations, and caused problems. Once we got the lead, it was all over.

Still make City favourites given our respective run-ins, but they have a lot more fixtures, so you never know.

Thought the referee, Stuart Atwell, was really good today. Lot of our players were rolling around claiming non existent fouls. He wasn’t having any of it. Made for a much better game.

They now have an FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley 3 days or so before the Arsenal game on 26th April

The Brighton game is postponed on 23rd and will have to be fitted in.

A week before the Arsenal game Citeh play Munchen in Munchen in the champions League second leg

All to okay for

Odegaard the Bodyguard is different class, his touch, acute passing and awareness is another level, as said before if we get past the Liverpool still 5 pts ahead, then can't see us losing it.
