When is Arsenals next European game?
|
|
By:
Early March. They went straight into the round of 16 and avoided a play off by topping the group.
|
|
By:
9th and 16th, to be precise.
If they progress from there, next fixtures would be 13th and 20th April. |

Strange old game tonight. Lack of urgency from both sides. Looked more like a pre-season friendly. I’d expect more commitment from both upcoming league games.

Arsenal won the battle imho!
The goal was poor defending but well taken. Arsenal picked up the gauntlet imho Catch me if you can! |

“I am grateful to Mr [Tony] Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them,” Caicedo wrote. The 21-year-old also addressed Brighton fans, saying “I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful,” Caicedo added. “I always play football with a smile and with heart. I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador.” I think a young man who is so well mannered is a perfect fit for Arsenal and not Chelsea. |

An OK window. Kiwior one for the future. Trossard can fill in. Jorginho a Mo replacement. Takes a good pen too. The lad from Brighton was way too expensive for what he’s achieved and may have scuppered Summer plans. I’m pleased for Brighton in a way. Must be galling when your best players are picked off, and it happened to us in the early Man City days.
Haven’t really addressed the main issue, which is if we lose Xhaka or Partey for a few games. We look really light there. Still, Top Four should be well within reach. Most of the people I sit with each home game would have taken that at the start of the season. Everton will be hard on Saturday, especially with the bounce factor. I’m not going this Saturday but it’s one of the great grounds. |

Top Four
![]() Now that is ultra cautious. We win our next 3, title's in the bag imo. |

By:
Hope you’re right, but 20 years now since we last won and haven’t realistically challenged much in between times. Season’s only half way. It’s not over ‘til it’s over.
|
|
By:
equally important is the fact City have weakened by letting Cancelo go and not brought in anyone of note.

Happy enough with the window. Would have taken Trossard and Jorginho beforehand. Two good additions and squad strength is going to become a factor more now. Jorginho offers good cover for Partey. He is not as physical or quick but is good positionally in front of the defence and at taking the ball off them and starting attacks. I see Balogun is tearing it up in France too, now top scorer in the league after overtaking Mbappe with a hat-trick yesterday.

By:
Great shout about Balogun Lurka. Next window should solely about central midfielders. He deserves his chance back at the Emirates.
Just searched Everton v Arsenal h2h. We haven’t won up there since 2017. |

And we were tonked up there a couple of seasons ago. They have been playing gash for months with Lampard in charge and unfortunately we are the first team playing them after they have appointed a new manager. No doubt they will improve and typical for Arsenal; it seems to happen a couple of times every season.

Brentford won’t be easy but at least we’ll get a couple of decisions. Spuds will roll over tomorrow and that will be that. |

Bad day at the office.
Hopefully just a combo of new manager bounce & us being slightly off. |

Top 4 still in the bag even if we collapse.

Bad day at the office... Yeah!... Worst possible time to play Everton too.. Unlucky Guys.

Poor today and got what we deserved. Odegaard badly bullied for the goal but what was he doing marking a CH?
Hopefully bounce back straight away and should be a different story playing at home, where we're still unbeaten. |
|
By:
Bounced back well after the Man Utd setback and need to do so against Brentford. Not unexpected that Everton with a new manager put in a performance like that.Arteta subbing Partey when he did, a clear mistake, which I hope he doesn't repeat.

Citeh dropped points yesterday and maybe some more before the season is over.
Liverpool fans shoukd not be too quick to want Klopp out as he might yet be the manager who will win them more titkes ![]() #Financial doping is cheating |

All this news about City is good. Looks to me that there were already problems in the dressing room and I suspect Haaland's wages/bonuses might have something to do with it. Makes them going on a long run of wins less likely imo. They are not even starting some of the players who featured in those runs.

I wonder if Haaland likes Landan! Could be a free agent by the end of the season!

Big game today after two reverses. Brentford are a very good outfit and play with a lot of pace. Can see them causing us quite a few problems. A lay for me.

What is Zinchenko's function in the team bar stupid shots and trying Hollywood balls?

Sadly the annual capitulation is well underway; started a tad early this season.

I felt it would play out something like that…..
Lacking in energy compared to past few games and undoubtedly having a dip. There’s not much depth to the squad to shake things up currently with both Jesus and ESR struggling for fitness. A couple of our lot were poor - Zinchenko and White and didn’t offer much, imo. Perhaps both need a rest. There was one thing in terms of subs I didn’t understand that applies to yesterday and to the Everton game. When you have so much dominance of possession and a team is sitting deep, why not try Trossard behind the attack and sacrifice one of the midfielders (probably Xhaka), rather than for Martinelli? He doesn’t look like a like-for like replacement in that position. Very different game on Wednesday when City come and will no doubt dominate the ball. Onward and downwards, as they say. |

For those that can receive RTE or get on the iplayer there's a documentary on tonight 9.35 about Liam Brady, revisiting the pubs and snooker halls etc in North London where he hung out and his time in Italy.

The predicted bump in the road has arrived. Don’t think the performance levels have been too bad, Everton apart. Does clearly show how thin the squad is in terms of sustaining a challenge for top slot. Need to get back on track or we’ll start to look a bit nervous even for 4th……

It would have to be a full on collapse to not finish second, not out of the question. I thought the performance at Everton was poor even taking into account it was their first match with new manager. Against Brentford the VAR incompetence by Lee Mason, masked the fact we were second best for much of that game. Against normal opposition I still think Arsenal would have a chance, but not this Man City team who look like they will go on a winning run and canter to the title. The match mid week, showed the difference between where the teams are at. Man City experience and quality finishing versus Arsenal inexperience, defence mistakes and not taking chances in first half. If Arteta can keep his best players (Saka, Partey etc), we could improve through experience and Man City apart, some of our performances are head and shoulders above anything Man Utd, Newcastle, Brighton and Spurs have managed this season.

no not at all, Arsenal have been resilient most of the time this season. Should be able to see off Villa now buy the looks of it.
