Better sign another player today given the number of injures picked up already. Ramsdale seemed to pick up a thigh injury, only Turner as cover who could be another Runarsson for all we know. Quite thin cover for GK and Odegaard, who can't be relied on for a season. He has a knee issue going back years which has to be managed. Ramsdale will hopefully be OK tho.

I suspect the winning run will come to an end on Sunday. Always a difficult place to go and chisel out a result. Though they aren’t playing great football, United have now won three on the bounce and will be up for this one.
Think we needed another midfielder given injury concerns, as others have noted on here. It’s the only area of the field where we look light. Looks like they are focused on Danilo as a permanent addition rather that Douglas Luiz as a stopgap, which is fair enough. Hopefully we’ll see Vieira at some stage. It’s a hefty fee to pay for a player if he’s only going to sit on the bench. |

I think Douglas Luik would have been perfect even if only for a year!
Not know anything about Danilo. Hope it’s done if he is that good! Luis is better than El Neney and Xhaka. He is an amazing long passer and would have been interesting to see him spring the press with the current front three! Good feet, good ball control, good at reading the interceptions and tackles. Partey has not been performing either so one player would give Arteta options and enhanced sale price as he is ideal for this team and I’m sure would shine. I guess there is a World Cup soon but winners get what they want and Arsenal needed him now. Maybe he wasn’t for sale. |

Squad looks incredibly light if there's only injuries to a couple of key players.
Probably factored in the World Cup & the break in Nov so holding fire until Jan I guess & hope for the best until then. |

Played some good stuff yesterday and on another day……..
The worry was the two Rashford goals, where the defence looked unbelievably callow. It was skilful play by United, but we shouldn’t have been quite so open. Season now going to get tougher, especially given the upcoming run of fixtures and the challenge of two games every week. |
|
By:
Bit naive from the players and manager yesterday but we are a different team in the final third than previously and played some good stuff. Looked a different team than previously in the defensive third as well tho. Thought Saliba was poor and didn't deal with Rashford well. Zinchenko looks a liability defensively. Shouldn't have left Antony in so much space for the first, got sucked into the middle. Thought White could have done better for the last goal too. He was unlucky not to get a full block on the second.
If that goal was allowed it might have been different. We could have sat deep and played on the counter and ultimately that's what they did to us. It was a foul by Odegaard tho imo. You can't push a player in the back like that. Shouldn't have been caught so easily on the break for the last 2 goals. Everyone knows United are one of the best teams on the counter and would play that way. |

Shame about the result but not disappointed with the effort. I'm sure the fringe players will have an outing on Thursday. I hope some of the main squad do not travel and rest. It's how we react to this come Sunday

Real signs something building here. The pain of losing to them on the break was too much to allow any analysis.
I wonder if Zinc could be deployed in the middle with Tierney at left. Centre backs still need shielding. I think Douglas Luiz would have been perfect for Arsenal. Good progress. A defensive midfielder and right back still needed imho. I hope the Young Turks are licking their wounds and are deeply upset. They let the other team take their trousers doon. Sadly for Arsenal it happens too often but I do think this side is different and this will become more of an aberration than the norm. |

A good performance undone by 2 really sloppy goals after coming back to level.

By:
Whispering - You think we need another RB? White and Tomiyasu not enough? I know White prefers to play as CB but I think its hard to leave out one of Saliba, Gabriel & White consistently?

I just like a full back in the old mould that knows how to defend by any means necessary. The Premiership is a tough unforgiving place. make no mistake we might mock the new player for various reasons but most are tough as teak and plenty do not take prisoners in that I mean they are disruptors and will kick and foul before thinking. It is war. I think tommy is weak. Not sure about White in the position.
I like a footballer too but if you are weak you will be destroyed. Currently concerned about the ease in which united came through the middle! A defensive shield is still needed and probably now is the missing piece. None of the current incumbents are sufficient to the task imho. You will win nothing without a thug there who can also think and play football or at the very least a shortish guy without ambition to pass the ball more than 5 yards and has no desire to shoot at goal let alone try and score!. Luiz could have been the man, great long range passing in addition to reading the game and good feet. Comfortable on the ball. |

Don't need another right back...need a top quality one.

Strange to see us at 1.28 for tonight, given that he will probably try and keep a good few of the first string fresh for Sunday. Be interesting to see the starting line up and any market reaction to that.

A dominant display over Brentford at the weekend - Another good display from Xhaka - Still a long way to go but good signs imo

If we're being honest, we've beat the teams we should be beating, lost to the only team that was a test, a resurgent United away, albeit a difficult fixtures in which we played well, but still lost, Tottenham, Liverpool and City, 3 of the next 4 games, these games will be season defining, all home games as well, looking for a minimum of 5 points, with Tottenham being the 3 pt banker. Make or break for Arteta. I think he can get those points.

Clear signs of progress, especially winning games against Palace and Brentford where we lost last season.
Top 4 not a given but will be so important in helping to tie the younger players down to contract renewals. |

Having a monster centre back has helped. The fact that he can also play football and score goals is a huge bonus.
Confidence is everything We have all known Arsenal have needed a beast of a centre back, a fought tackling defensive midfielder and a centre forward gif the last 25 years. Not sure Jesus is but he has so many good players around him it is working. His attitude and determination are hugely important signals to the rest. A world class central midfielder must be on the menu. Hope that Dailk kid is the one. |

Vlahovic and Miretti signed by the Daily Mail from Juventus for £103 million!
I have been impressed by young Miretti. Vkahovic supposed to be a golden boy. How do you balance a team? |
|
By:
Looking forward to going to the game tomorrow, though with some trepidation.
Two good teams in form and I’d call it as 50/50. Think we are a better team across the pitch, but they have a lethal front line with Son and Kane. All results in play. No bet for me. Thoughts? |
|
By:
I rarely back my own team but Ive bet them in this. Away win. THFC are the better team atm. Fingers Xd. COYS!

We're the much stronger team from what I've seen this season, T*ttenham flatter to deceived and have got lucky in quite a few games, their defence once got at will wobble like jelly. Expect 3 points before the real acid test the following week, this is just the warm up.

Great atmosphere. Started like a train.
Having said that, it’s a bit like playing Bolton back in the old days. I can see us getting done here. Especially with the dismal Taylor on the whistle. Definitely a lay for me at h/t. |
|
By:
looks like my analysis was pretty spot on, T*ttenham folded like a cheap tent and were indeed, a 3pt banker.

Delighted to lose a few quid and be proved wrong.
Thought Spurs could go on and win it at half time, but their lack of ambition was embarrassing, especially given the talent at their disposal. Their manager, Pound Shop Simeone, is clearly tactically clueless, resorting to shouting at the players to get a tune out of them. |
|
By:
Great win yest and things looking good esp with Pool and Chelsea not at their best so far. Thought Xhaka was more at fault for their goal than Gabriel. He is a liability in our box but a threat near theirs but he redeemed himself in fairness and is doing a lot better overall. Good to see Partey get a shot on target too!

Great result yesterday, the pressing and closing down is what I've been calling for for years, we've finally caught up with it, to a man they're all fighting for each other and top 4 is nailed on, will be back in the big time next season dining at the top table which is our rightful place, no more Europa League football. Some decisions went out way against Liverpool but how many times have they gone against us. Leeds next away, they're an intense team and in years gone by it'd been a game we'd have lost, now we have the hard bar stewards willing to go up there on a cold day in October and grind it out. Kind Regards.

Great result yesterday, though I actually thought we were below par overall. Liverpool are a good side, so have to take the positives.
Leeds will be tricky, especially after a trip to the Arctic Circle on Thursday. Glimt looked useful at times and will be a different proposition on their own patch. Need to give as many of the first 11 a rest as possible and not have them make the journey. Looking further forward, it will be important to tie the likes of Saka, Martinelli and Saliba down to new contracts as the vultures are already circling. |
|
By:
Agreed Fink. Give plenty a rest - We should still have too much for them and then be ready for Dirty Leeds at the weekend
|
|
By:
Expecting a very tough game on Sunday. Thought he’d give a couple more players a rest last night. There is a performance downturn on stats from Thursday to Sunday, especially with an away game and a flight back in the early hours of the morning.
Leeds is always a tough place to go. Not going on Sunday but have had a few trips up there in the past and they always enjoy great support and the atmosphere is always charged. First half hour will be key. If Leeds get an early goal, we’ll be in trouble. But it will give a good indication of where we are. |
|

Leeds unbeaten at home this season too.

Leeds are absolute awful. I expect a facile away win for the mighty Gooners....

Southampton at the weekend, every time Hassenhutl needs a result when in trouble he gets one, thankfully that just happened against Bournemouth, City have Brighton at home, needs to keep the pressure on by getting a tricky away win.

St Mary’s always a difficult place to go. Wouldn’t be too confident of a win. More hopeful. Would like to have seen more players given a rest yesterday. Squad still looks too thin for the long haul.

Decent 45 minutes. Should be further ahead. Ref doing his absolute best to keep Saints in it.
|
|
By:
Lacked a bit of energy yesterday and didn’t put the game to bed when we had the chances. Saints were much better in the second half to be fair. Still, on the plus side it’s one point more than we got there last season. Need to rest players on Thursday for sure.
