Really, who can forget Aubameyang dive last season at Wembley, the mask in his shorts(whatever happened to that?)
and then the miss?Crazy

The difference was that the push on Auba put him off balance and was a foul. Kane moved his bodyweight and centre of gravity backwards towards the defender, seemingly to shield the ball, and the push did not put him off balance. Kane leapt forward unnaturally as soon as he felt contact when the force of his weight was more than enough for him to stay on his feet and he was moving in the opposite direction to the push. Kane caused himself to lose balance, ie dived and that is not a foul.

If you believe that you'll believe anything, but hey ho a push is a push whichever way
you look at it,next you will be telling me that Salah and Aubameyang are innocent players who never dived,
although tbf only one had a mask in his shorts, which like the penalty was pre-planned.

Watford had 31 shots against Arsenal

That's the most they've ever faced in a #PL fixture since records began (2003/04)

Still handing teams goals away from home. Should really be a sackable offence at this stage. What sort of a mug do you have to be to not do something about it or to play out from the back with our record of individual defensive errors? If a team presses you playing it out then play it long FFS.

Have to say I simply have been unable to listen to Emery's post match interviews; as soon as he began to trot out his inane answers I couldn't take it and switched off. Hate to say it but I cannot see him working out given how many mistakes he is making let alone the team. His judgement is very poor also and the team look confused, disjointed, poorly balanced and simply as bad as any team we have had for the past decade.

I love Dicks passion, much more animated than Wenger, Wenger was clueless about defending, and bought some proper duds and put them on mega contracts, which has tied Dicks hands somewhat, however, the same Wengeresque defensive mistake are STILL HAPPENING, So he has to rectify it in Jan, buy bringing in 2 big no nonsense centre halves, i watched Tyrone Mings last night, he's only had 22 prem games, but was organising the defence and screaming hes orders out like a Tony Adams type player, he's passion was there for all to see, unlike any Arsenal player in the current squad, and By naming that 2 bob Xhaka, as captain, makes me lose confidence in the manager, I watched Southend and Colchester recently and i wouldn't even put him in there squads

If the manager wants to play suicide football, then its only fair to expect ridiculous goals to be scored against us.

There's a growing number of fans who've already had enough of Emery and would like someone else. Some are suggesting Mourinho or Allegri as they are both available. Concerns about the type of football we'd play under them but both would be a step up from Emery. We missed the chance to attract Pep and Klopp by sticking with Wenger too long. These managers don't come along very often and other clubs will get them if we don't.

I wouldn't care in the short term. Allegri would be much better but I'd take Mourinho for a year or two, that's about all he'd hang around for but at least he would organise the defence, something the club has been crying out for since Campbell left. We could get a footballing manager in after him. And remember it was a previous defensive manager who built the defence upon which Wenger was successful. Seriously, I think we might need a manager like that and give him a remit of sorting out the defence and getting rid of our mug defenders.

I'd prefer Allegri long-term but would take Mourinho short-term only. Emery's hands weren't tied this Summer. Any manager with half a brain would see that Arsenal's defence has been their weakness for 10+ years. We don't need to score more goals and the attack would be hard to improve upon anyway, so why spend on it? Xhaka as captain should be considered gross misconduct and instant sacking.

You can blame the defenders for individuals mistakes but you cannot blame for having no midfield covering them. Before we scored on Sunday we were in utter disarray and Emery did nothing at all about it----very Wengeresque. He thinks Xhaka is a wonder player, well his job will be gone sooner rather than later if he is hanging his hat on that. 20 CH's wouldn't change the above. We let Monreal go and left ourselves with no LB at the same time we have no RB. The best CH performance we have had this season came from Chambers away at NU....not been seen since. Luiz has given away two pens and will be there next week no problem. Emery is to blame not the players imo. He can drop anyone that isn't performing if he wants to. Willock playing well and certainly better than others in the team---dropped. It looks like Emery drops the easy targets. He is in trouble.

Couldn't be having Mourinho at the club, the man is a disgrace. I would take Rafa, on a 2 1/2 yr conrtract in a heartbeat.

I can't see Emery changing his football philosophy and imo can only lead to self destruction.

Can't see Allegri wanting to come but Mourinho might if he gets a free hand and a few quid. Brendan Rodgers would be a more realistic replacement if Emery gets the boot which i think is more likely than not next season.

From the comments of some of the players after the game on Sunday you can see they are implicitly questioning Emery's tactics. Agree Mourinho wouldn't be good long-term but he would never be a long-term appointment anyway. Rodgers a step up from Emery but I don't think he'd do much better and don't think he can organise a defence either. Rafa would be better than Mourinho alright. Longer-term I think we need a younger manager with a progressive pressing strategy, ie a game-plan for when we don't have the ball with everyone working defensively. That's the future and what you need to be able to compete against Klopp and Pep's teams.

I would take a year or two of rebuilding and defensive strengthening from any manager who actually does it as a priority and is backed by the board to do it. I think we need that. It's been going on for 12+ years. The lack of midfield cover doesn't help either. I keep seeing Xhaka described as a defensive midfielder in the media as well. One of the least defensive midfielders in the league.

Rafa only recently joined China, so wouldn't think he'd jack them in after such a short tenure?

Fact is only Liverpool and City are decent. Chelsea and Utd have struggled but at least they win trophies from time to time. Our fanbase now thinks that getting CL footy is success. Doesn't make us a big club in my eyes anymore.

I believe Rafa would join us no problem.
Yes Liverpool and City are the best 2 teams but that does not disqualify other clubs from being 'big'.
If winning torphies is the only criteria then both Milan clubs are small fry and for me to even suggest such a thing is to defy footballing history.
We have made finals and won trophies over the past few years also.
That said the definition of the 'big club' tag is dabated ad nauseam and often it is used to support the arguement of the moment and then a different take is used when convenient.
We are a big club but the title doesn't carry any real world significance on the pitch or in the trophy cabinet.
It is my opinion that Rafa would come because we are 'The Arsenal'- that is a title that has weight in the footballing world despite anyone's definition of 'big'.

If money means something to a man of his age and considerable wealth then I accept he would be the wrong man.

By:

It's more about us not even considering/appraoching him if he's under contract and on that type of money. The board more than likely won't go for a defensive manager anyway.

Enp - accept that football history plays a part in being a big club. Newcastle fans still think they are a big club - not for me though.

Man City have little football history until recently but i consider them to be big. I think we WERE a big club but the last 10 years have shown us to be also rans in the main competitions, despite us having a rich history.

So you are saying, spending money and winning things in the short term are your criteria which is fine but it is a broader term when used by most and that is the way I used it. Arsenal's history would have to be a lot longer in the past to change that.

Also haven't seen Pepe do a single thing to justify his price tag. Let's hope his performances improve dramatically now he's had a few games under his belt as so far he has been a massive disappointment.

Pepe will do better without Lacazette around playing in a 2up top. the kid needs some space to shine and if he's got too many other forwards taking the limelight then he won't do that. I would say the jury is still largely out on his ability. is he city quality? definitely not. Almost half of his goals (9/22) last season were from the penalty spot as well so his prolific season doesn't look so good in that context. i think when a team spends 70m you expect a WOW sort of player and he's not that good really is he but is he better than reiss nelson or other arsenal academy products? time will tell but judging by what abraham has done (albeit against low table sides) then if you give nelson the chance he could become a player. i think 99% of british arsenal fans would rather see an academy product playing than a french import. but c'est la vie we adopted some of their language too so may as well take some of the talent

Willock showing again that Emery has got it wrong.
Torriera is the new box to box CDM we have endured for a dozen years.
Chambers chucked out to RB when he put in the best CH performance of the season for us.

I don't believe he is up for making the tough calls to drop certain players- if so it will cost him his job.

By:

Not sure if Pixie was one but there were a lot of people opposed to Simeone because of the football he plays. I'd have liked him and still would. Always thought Atletico players like Oblak and Jimenez would be poachable and would solve a lot of our problems. Clubs like that are where we should be looking for value signings of quality players. Simeone might even bring a few of them with him.

But I think with the likes of Raul etc in place and the recent signings, they have set their stall out to play (wide) open attacking football for the foreseeable future. They'd have to tear up the plan once again for Simeone and can't see them doing that. Simeone mightn't even want to work under that backroom set-up.

Loud round of applause when Xhaka was taken off on 72 mins yest (along with Ceballos). Game changed afterwards. Wonder if Emery can put 2+2 together? Sokratis lucky not to give away a late pen and the VAR people said that if the ref had given it initially they wouldn't have overturned it. He and Luis were completely useless for Villa's 2nd. Guendouzi was immense in the 2nd half but at fault for their first goal. One of the few players who seems to care about not losing.

Gets a lot of hits BlackRock..I'll time in to watch how misleading his comments can be at times..he gained traction with his outspoken views on Wenger.

But now his view is that we have to lower our expectations..

Recently, saying we can't expecting to bt Liverpool (or something along those lines.

This manager has got alias of new defenders midfielders..new attacking players..

There is some quality..he's made some mistakes ..but

Anyway..I agree about Robbie..he can see allsides of the arguments but he imo is putting a positive spin on the current situation so...??
