If Steve Bould is defensive coach he should go , for the last 5 years the defence has been an absolute shambles everbody can see it.

Niles is on the right of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 with Iwobi on the left. He did well for his goal tho.
But 4 more mug goals so far. Every time we concede it seems to be easily avoidable. If Emery is like Wenger and refuses to coach the back line as a unit then we are not going to make any progress. No sign of him doing it yet either. If we had any sort of defence we could really trouble the top sides. |

More shocking defending- no surprises there. We have not changed or adapted to bolster the back 4 by keeping 1/2 DM's right in front of them but allowed them to wander upfield only to get caught out. Big bonus going 1-0 up but instead of digging in we played the same way and got cut open so easily it is ridiculous. Good though to see Mailand Niles (arguably our best player of the half!) in a CM position !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lichsteiner has been very poor but Iwobi is haing a better game than of late. There are signs of a team in there with a few signing and a few departures needed- not all doom and gloom from me as we are very clearly a work in progress. |

he is on the right of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 he is in front of lichsteiner. Not in CM, torreira and xhaka are in CM.

We are making them look better than they are (a definite Wenger trait) but lets hope it drives home the need to change the way we set up. We have had a hiding coming all season- at least it came from the top of the league team away. Emery MUST change tack if we are to make the top 4- he doesn't have the players to play the way he wants and needs to accept that asap.

he is on the wing. u said CM anyway, not 'midfield' (in place of xhaka). xhaka is in CM. Iwobi and niles are on the flanks not in CM
