going down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By:
ficking roy u are going down
By:
Big win for Palace yesterday. Pretty sure to stay up now. Roy has done an excellent job considering where Palace were when he took over and the amount of injuries they've had in the last couple of months.
By:
Like I said last week, Palace will be fine. Roy doesn't do relegation. 3rd bottom is still anybody's. Would be hilarious if it was Soton.
By:
think saints in desperate trouble. certainly the favourites for me to follow stoke and west brom down. horrific run in and 2 midweek games to fit in now
By:
and hiring Hughes as manager might put the tin lid on the coffin
![]() |
By:
A huge match for Soton away to West Ham (huge for both teams obviously) on 30/03 and then they have to go to Arsenal after that so they are likely candidates if the strike out in both those games.
By:
mafeking and platini will back soon to explain this turnaround in form for the MIGHTY SOUTHAMPTTON. !
By:
SLIPPY, should SOUTHAMPTON even being going to the ground, i thought the fa would have acted quicker !! what SECURITY ? allows
a " fan " onto the centre of the pitch with a corner flag in his hand. ? ![]() |
By:
still going down roy is a mesengrer of doomm
i know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
By:
..not sure who is going down, but iam more confident
Now it's not Southampton.! |
By:
why? They have added distraction from the cup now, and are still poor.
By:
you may well be right stu, 6 pointer coming up against west ham is massive, yes the premier league survival is paramount but
neither i or many other saints fans ( or the manager ) would call it a distraction. poor maybe but that was a 100% improvement than the previous week, 3 teams worse than us hopefully. ![]() |
By:
Fair enough, but I could never see cup games as anything but unneeded in Saint's position - it's happened for other sides, cup runs and relegation - Pompey spring to mind as one from the top flight in the year they did well in the cup.
By:
Coincidentally, Palace reached the semis of both cups in 94/95 and went down in the last relegation spot!
By:
look at what they've got left. 3 of the top 6, best of the rest leicester among their 5 away games and only 1 home banker bournemouth
hard to be very bullish about them getting the 3 wins they probably need out of that lot |
By:
TRUE mafeking, but before the weekend you wouldnt bet on us winning one game, the high st books have us at fourth best to go
down, i just hope they are right. ![]() |
By:
Beat West Ham and you'll be fine
By:
on the other hand lose and who the hell can they realistically catch ? palace are probably out of it with their soft looking run in that leaves swansea, huddersfield and newcastle all who have shown more signs of life than southampton recently
saints just haven't got any goals in them at the moment without charlie austin |

bollinger looks like cioming my way SB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By:
Bloody hell T.D. did you watch the match? Even the most hardened of Liverpool supporters could not have begrudged us a point out of that game.
I'm still confident we will be OK mate, in our last 6 games if we play like we did today we'll get more than enough points to be safe I would have thought. |
By:
your probably right SB they have the easiest run in on paper with none of the big guns to play
By:
I have no reason to like Roy Hodgson but I do. What he has forgotten about football and management isn't worth knowing but when highly "over"paid players like Benteke continually let him down he must be sickened to the stomach. But the real reason Palace will go down is of course their defence and Sakho is that real reason. He is awful and the fundamentals he gets wrong have got Palace in trouble - and that isn't going to change between now and May. Too late to do anything about it now so he has to hope Benteke starts bagging goals.
By:
LoyalHoncho, was going to post a reply but I presume the above was your attempt at an April Fool's joke.
By:
We can't keep relying on other teams getting beat.Whilst the remaining fixtures look good on paper, with Palace that doesn't mean anything.Every point needs to be scrapped for and I have lost count how many goals we have let in towards the end of games where we should be getting at least a point.Whilst WBA look doomed a few teams around us have a game in hand. This will go right to the wire.
By:
Not with you Cork. Sakho is awful. How many of the top eight sides have Palace led this season, then got beat? There;s a reason for that - and it isn't bad luck.
By:
the run in does look good and stoke and soton are in free fal the combination of boyth might save them
By:
hard to see either stoke or saints getting more than around 35 points. those above probably won't have to much
By:
LoyalHoncho, Sakho has made only 13 appearances in 32 PL games so far this season, P13 W3 D5 L5, of those five defeats, four were away, at Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham respectively, in both the Newc and Spurs games we deserved a point but lost to a single goal in each.
Saturday's defeat at home to Pool is the only game that fits your criteria of leading and losing, somewhat harsh therefore to make Sakho a scapegoat. Next time you post perhaps you could check the "facts" first, whilst I respect your right to voice your opinion that you do not rate Sakho, it is unjust and unfair to blame him when he isn't even in the team....! |
By:
he had a mare aginst liverpool but i quite rated hin when at liverpool . i think hes a pretty solid player tbf
By:
Was he out because he was injured Cork or not rated good enough? Serious question? As far as I'm concerned he doesn't concentrate, he doesn't apply himself fully and he makes funadamental errors such as allowing forwards to get goal side of him. That's poor stuff. If he was as good as you suggest Liverpool would still have him.
By:
LoyalHoncho, he was indeed injured, like the rest of our squad, have you seen the number of different combinations we have had to use across the back four so far?
I have merely provided the facts and figures, I have not suggested anything about Sakho personally as we haven't seen enough of him in a run of games to come to any decision. As for Pool keeping him, that was never going to happen given the clash of personality with the management, so it is a pointless comment to put forward as a defence of your opinion. |
By:
I respect your views Cork. Personally I don't rate the guy highly and I don't feel personalities had anything to do with his departure from Liverpool. I think he was told he wasn't good enough and would have to improve to get a place in the team. Things are often as simple as that.

By:
massive game v Brighton this weekend if they win and Soton lose they will be in a very comfortable postion. soton at home tio chelsea so no easy game for them
By:
Crystal Palace 3 - Brighton 2
Well thankfully T.D. we finally got a win that was richly deserved albeit a long time coming and honestly I think the question of us staying up is a complete no brainer now, we are safe. Southampton losing has got them bang in trouble I would thought. Huge kudos must go to Roy and hopefully he can strengthen the squad for next year and we won't go through endure all the grief that we have had all season! COYP ![]() |
By:
Aye, Roy has done extremely well.
By:
looking good now SB but still not over the line . massive result for you yesterday particuarly given soton threw a 2 goal lead away
Run in looks pretty comfortable to Bollinger getting warmed up LOL!!!!!!!!!!! |
