To be fair to United they are doing their best to reduce the amount of games they have to play

The proposition that I would make is teams that haven't qualify for Europe should have 10 points deduction.

You do realise that they have only played 7 games in europe with 3 being at home? 4 for Man City and Arsenal.

It would be a SOUR league if Liverpool win it cos Chels, Man City and Arse are all too tied.

ha ha all liverpool fans in a tizzy cos their achievement doesn't amount to much.
but don't take my word for it...listen to the special one. "The league is amazing - it is difficult for every one of us. There are teams with more potential than others, obviously. There is another, like Liverpool, with a BIG advantage with the fact that they don't play in Europe." Jose Mourinho He can't be wrong all of the time. |

Arsen Wenger cant be fishing aswell?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1975354-arsene-wenger-joins-jose-mourinho-in-claiming-liverpool-have-title-advantage Arsene Wenger has echoed the thoughts of Jose Mourinho by claiming Liverpool have an advantage in the title race because it's the only competition Brendan Rodgers' side are still competing in. The Arsenal boss spoke ahead of his side's Premier League trip to Stoke, a match that threatens to present a challenging physical battle for the Gunners. He suggests Liverpool will benefit from remaining focused on one piece of silverware, as reported by ESPN: Liverpool is in the race and they have an advantage because it's the only competition they play. Overall, it will be very tight, I hope until the end because that means it will be close until the end and if you are consistent, you will have a good chance to win it. Jon Super/Associated Press Arsenal are currently competing in the FA Cup and Champions League alongside the domestic division. Wenger faces a difficult task to ensure his players remain fit and don't succumb to fatigue, something he has struggled to overcome when dealing with players such as Mesut Ozil. The French boss cannot compete with the strength-in-depth enjoyed by Chelsea and Manchester City, meaning man-management is essential. Wenger was recently criticised for giving his team two days off after beating Sunderland. He was flummoxed by those who berated his decision, per Sky Sports: I don't see why that's suddenly a problem. We have played without a break since December, we don't have to justify that, it's unbelievable. We are in a society where everyone wants to control everything. I don't understand this at all. We came out of a heavy schedule. We had two days off, that's all. Sang Tan/Associated Press Wenger's suggestion that Liverpool could benefit from a less hectic schedule follows on from a similar argument made by Mourinho, who believes the Merseyside club have a "big advantage," reported by The Telegraph. Arsenal face up to seven games in March, including crucial matches against Everton, Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City across a gruelling three-week spell. Chelsea have six games throughout next month, while Liverpool are preparing for five. Sang Tan/Associated Press Small advantages could make a difference this season, but both Wenger and Mourinho would rather still be competing across all fronts than just focusing on the Premier League. Liverpool may possess the fresher squad, but the London-based clubs will generate greater revenue from ticket sales and television rights, while also providing their fans with excitement across a variation of competitions. Teams such as Manchester United, Inter Milan and Bayern have completed the treble in recent years, proving success doesn't have to be dampened by a busy run of matches. |

Liverpool last season purposely not trying to qualify for Europa...to increase this seasons chances of a top 4 place....Lazy fooks
Talk about stealing a living. |
|

Strange then how year after year it has almost always been the same 3 or 4 clubs in the Champion's League places, playing in Europe or not.

The proposition that I would make is teams that haven't qualify for Europe should have 10 points deduction. That's a great idea Bozzo - might make it a bit difficult for united next year though. If I didn't know you better I'd Have thought it was an attempt at humour. Are you sure you don't want to start supporting Liverpool - you must have been secretly enjoying their free scoring brilliance this season. |

I never will support Liverpool.... I thought Ill put this discussion into this arena, because of 2 credible managers think that Liverpool have got it easy because of their failure, intentionally or unintentionally to qualify for this seasons Europa cup. That shouldn't be hard to grasp, unlike the fans who grasp those League cup final tickets from the hands of that poor child back in 2012. In which you quoted on the Liverpool discussion thread |

I'd like to know who authorized this recent change to the rules that allowed teams in fewer competitions to play less games than some other teams. They need to face the music in my opinion. The only fair plan in future is for all teams knocked out or not qualifying for cups should be forced into another new cup where they play each other in a round robin tournament so that no-one is ever knocked out and gains such a massive advantage over the others.
Brings me on to another similar point: injuries. Take for example Man City - they've dropped points while Aguero's been out and it's pretty clear he's been missed and this has put them at a huge disadvantage. The only fair treatment is for all other clubs' main strikers to sit out their games until Aguero's fit again. This could filter down and be applicable at all levels, so that for instance when Fellaini was injured Norwich's 6th choice central midfielder should also sit out the same number of games. |

One could argue the same for Liverpool's CL win back in 2005.
Milan were fighting on three fronts at the time...League, cup and Europe. Liverpool were out of all domestics and only had the European Cup to play for. Poor AC were probably pooped out after 45 minutes. |

I remember thinking exactly that. Really soured the whole experience for me!!

Maybe Liverpool will always be remembered post 2002 as the "cup at a time" club

I hate what MUFC have become, a total harbourer of sh!te like you, but I have respect for your great players, Best, Charlton, Aston, and many more, and also some non-plastic leeches, I.E Peter The Butcher. You are just one jealous sad **** who can't even think about coming on here on days you lose and we win. The type of modern day *** that has ruined our great game, doubt you have ever been near Old Trafford, and without google maps street view wouldn't have a clue what the area was like. Real fans (even of your own club) would wish you would go away and let us get back to talking constructively about the glorious game. It's quite sad that it takes the demise of great clubs to lose tw@ts like you. That fortunately won't be long now. |

Manchester United set to become The Harlem Globetrotters of football if they don't qualify for European football next season. I suppose Liverpool could have done the same this season, but football comes first for our club & not trying to push up a plummeting share price. Sure the people in China & the middle-east can't wait to see the likes of Young, Cleverley, Valencia & co. |
