Petrescu favorite as the daily mirror pulled the story on tuesday night that CP2010 had sent a delegation to Russia to talk with him, can't really see him leaving where he is but he does love London obviously as he has a daughter named Chelsea but would be a big risk for him coming to a relegation threatened club like Palace if he wanted to impress Chelsea in any way he would be better staying where he is probably?

Might be worth a few quid on David Duchovny if Petrescu turns them down.

I might be wrong, but despite their numerous stints in the Premier League, I think Iain Dowie is the only manager who has survived from beginning to the end of the season - just.

yep, before my time really but i know he left after relegation after the pl inception, made more comebacks though then kevin keegan at newcastle

I was wrong about Dowie anyway - he managed a full season after relegation. Coppell must have been the one I was thinking of.

no dowie was there for the whole season in the prem, took over late 2003 and left after the play off failure in 06

Ai. I thought he was sacked about a week after relegation not the following season as well. He had a long stint in charge - I remember one of his first games in charge was against us in what appeared to be an early relegation battle. We went down and they (somehow) went up.

no it was the whole 'mutual consent' charade when he left, said he wanted to be closer to his family somewhere in the north west so he could get out of his contract, went to charlton a week laterLaugh

In this day and age with all the tapping up,that goes on I'm amazed they don't have a replacement lined up ready.

Interesting developments... seems like the dodgy internet got rid of a few greens and increased others LaughLaughLaugh Good choice in my book tho, a win ratio of 52% is a good track record. Good luck Palace.

wow 1.4. to think that the price was close to 20 before 1hour raises the question if it is a genuine inside info than an over reaction. i have layed him with all my green. now let us hope nothing happens

Nothing wrong in taking your time if the right person is employed after the wait, not a lot happening with the international break and whomever comes in will only be focusing on getting us playing as a team for next year if common sense prevails.

Been reported on SSN that they are in advanced talks, about half hour after the website came out with the quotes from the vice chairman.

Wish you'd kept him. An absolute shambles of a manager. Topped off when he took the squad for a training run in Newcastle ON THE DAY of an away game and got them lost. They had to phone the kit man back at the hotel to order them a load of taxis.

yeah i know that but i cant stop wondering why the price was left to drift to 20s just 20 or 30 minutes before a crash. surely there must be people who would have information

The price drifted quickly, people who had backed him reacting to the first link i put up with 'quotes' from the dinamo vice chairman but it is a dodgy site and it was bullsh** the thing is that the mirror reported that palace had gone with a delegation to push the deal through, Petrescu loves London and if you look at his record then you can see he doesn't seem to stay anywhere for too long! Free money.

Free money, what rollocks.

Palace won't pay anything where they don't have too. If they had £1.5m they'd have took Pulis on, a tried & tested Premier League manager, who would give them the best possible chance of staying up imo.

Petrescu would be like a rabbit in the headlights in this situation & reading around some people seem to think one day he will manage Chelsea, I don't know why.

Everybody seems to forget that Pulis said that 'it had to be right for both parties' which everybody thought translated to money, but i think it was about Pulis working under a DOF... something i could never see him doing, whereas Dan the man...

Very surprised Pet Rescue wants to leave a decent job in Russia to manage a side who will almost inevitably be in the championship next season.

There is very little doubt that he wants to do exactly that biscuit as difficult as it may be for you to believe.

What is in doubt is whether the punter who took the price short yesterday was guessing or knows that a comp deal has been sorted with Moscow and Palace. (I use the singular for punter advisedly.)

Known fact is that he (pet rescue) loves england, (fook knows why) maybe the fact he has been spending his whole managerial career wanting to get back here, and his daughter is at school in London. Also the fact that Palace have a good academy and he fancies himself to bring them back stronger if they do in fact go down this year.

Didn't realise his daughter was at school here, guess that must be why then. Surely see's them as a stepping stone to a decent premier league job in a couple of years time. He doesn't appear to stick at a club for very long.
By:

If you look at the clubs he has managed you will see that a couple had problems with money etc and apart from that he has gone up the ladder each time, and a win ratio of 52% is pretty decent. It's obviously close to Chelsea too, that's his daughter's name Laugh
