49. Lokomotiv Moscow to beat Amkar Perm £105.20 at 1.04 Just after HT, Loko 2-0 up. |
|
By:
Champions League tonight, but I'm taking Tuesday's bet early, since I'll be out having a beer or two watching Celtic hopefully get hammered.
50. Cyprus U19 to beat Gibraltar U19 £108.60 at 1.05 When I heard Gibraltar were now official FIFA members, I thought it was a joke. Apparently not. Cyprus came back from 2-0 down to snatch a draw v Croatia on Saturday, which cost me a few quid, so one would think they should be able to beat Gibraltar. Gibraltar? FFS. World's gone mad. Placed 5 minutes in with Cyprus 1-0 up. Oh, and as I've been withdrawing 10% of the winnings from each bet since #14, I'm now in profit by 2p from this effort. Bumping the percentage up to 15% as of yesterday now I'm over £100. |

*UEFA members. Whatevs. Still bonkers.

By:
7-0 FT. Hopefully the full team gets drawn in Scotland's group for the Euros, I'd fancy our chances to win that.
Back tomorrow. |

51. Lay Copenhagen at 16 v Galatasaray - liability £112.95
Gala currently 1-0 up, 28m in. Can't bring myself to trust Moyes' United to hold on with Jones and Evans at CB. Tempted to go for the 1.03 in the Bayern and PSG games, but decided to make things a little more interesting. Gala should be decent enough to avoid defeat to Copenhagen, let's hope Mancini is as defensive-minded as ever. |
|
By:
At 3-0 HT, it's not quite as interesting as I thought it would be, which is just the way I like it.

By:
Distracted slightly in the early batch of Europa League matches and missed any value, attempted to lay the unquoted in the Spurs match at 2-0, only managed to get a bit matched. Also tried to get on Fiorentina +1 at 1-0, again only getting a bit matched before 2-0. Swithered over Valencia at 1.05 at 2-0 but decided not to trust them. Gutted
![]() Anyway: 52. Rubin Kazan +2 v Wigan £119.07 at 1.06 HT 1-1. Considered lumping on Eintracht Frankfurt, 1-0 up against 10 men at home, but decided on this - surely Rubin won't collapse against a Championship team. |
|
By:
Busy day in store for me tomorrow, so Friday's bet is placed.
53. Carolina Panthers to beat Tampa Bay £124.84 at 1.05 Currently 21-6 Carolina with c. 4m of Q3 to go, Carolina's defence is superb and Tampa haven't won a game this season yet, so this should be fairly routine. |

so far so good, u r doing great. like reading ur little analyses. keep up the good work.

I'll try - it's less anlaysis, more like inane rambling really, but cheers anyway
![]() Quite enjoying the one bet a day thing, a bit less stressful than normal betting, so hopefully this'll keep going for a little bit longer. |
|
By:
Final score 31-13 - although to be honest I'm probably more chuffed I have Cam Newton (221 yards, 2 TDs) in my fantasy team this week than I am about Carolina winning

Insane talent
not you milla! Cam Newton keep up the good work chief. Nice1. |

Another away day for me tomorrow, going to see the Dons strut their stuff at sunny Easter Road. Staying in Edinburgh overnight so placing Saturday's bet now, hopefully get back home at a decent time on Sunday ie when there's still decent football on.
Saturday: 54. Lay RKC Waalwijk v Ajax at 18 - liability £129.88 Although Ajax don't seem to be firing on all cylinders domestically - and unfortunately managed to lose to Celtic midweek - their home form is still as impressive as ever, 5 wins from 5 in the league this season and unbeaten at home since November last year. RKC slipped to the bottom of the table tonight and still looking for their first away win. The h2h is predictably, but still hilariously, lopsided as well, 1 win in the last 39 meetings for Waalwijk, and that was in 1999 (although I shouldn't laugh too much, sounds a bit like our record against Celtic actually) Not a big fan of leaving bets open that I won't be able to follow, but this surely shouldn't be anything to worry about. Surely. |

A pleasing weekend, only thing better than a late goal for your team is two late goals
The SPFL Youtube site has match highlights up with the caption "Dons beat Hibs to keep title challenge on track", although I wouldn't advise piling in on it. Not just yet.Checked my phone at about 21:15 yesterday expecting to see Ajax 3 or 4 up, so was a bit tense. Ended up following the last 5 mins on the 365 mobile site, which is hardly ideal for either the nerves or the phone battery! Still, looked a pretty one-sided game from the stats and just provided further proof that backing goals in general and o0.5s in particuar is a recipe for disaster. I digress. Sunday's bet is: 55. Lazio to beat Cagliari £136.07 at 1.05 Placed about 5 mins ago, before I started typing, so about the 65th min with Lazio up 2-0 |
|
By:
2-0 FT, routine stuff.
Will hopefully be placing Monday's bet later on tonight, opportunity permitting as ever, since I'll be up being sports entertained anyway and, again, quite a bit to do tomorrow. |
|
By:
I did have a more timely post written out, but got a few tabs open and seem to have misplaced it.
56. Green Bay Packers to beat Minnesota £141.57 at 1.06 This was placed just after GB went 24-10 up with about 1:15 left in the first half. Since then the Vikings went up the field and managed to get a TD back, which caught me slightly by surprise as they've shown absolutely nothing at all before that, so it's 24-17 at the half. Still should be a routine win, the Vikings are pretty much the definition of a one-man team, and although Peterson is a hell of a player, there's a reason Minnesota have only won 1 of 6 games this season. |
|
By:
Green Bay win 44-31. Not even as close as the scoreline suggests and given it's 13 points, that says it all about that game.
Back Tuesday - or potentially Monday night. |
|
By:
Literally just in the door, didn't have time this morning to study the fixture list and have a pre-match bet.
Am on the following now: 57. Lay Barcelona to score 5 or more at 20 - liability £148.39 This was placed at HT. Obviously didn't see the first half but the Sky studio seemed to think it was pretty even stuff, so went for it. Obviously could have done without the quick goal after the break, but hopefully they won't push forward too much. |
|
By:
0-3 FT. Two goals in the first 9m of the second half made it a little interesting and on another night that could easily have been 5 or 6. Luckily it was tonight, and I'm moving on.
Plenty of domestic cup matches all over Europe tomorrow from early afternoon, so hopefully opportunity will present itself before the Dons game on the radio takes top priority. |
|
By:
Wednesday:
58. Real Madrid +1 v Sevilla £155.02 at 1.07 Sevilla haven't won away in La Liga for well over a year. Can't see them winning tonight, and the +1 handicap works out with a bit more profit than laying Sevilla at 16. |
|
By:
At 3-0 Real after just over half an hour, I think I'm safe here.
Off to properly celebrate the Dons getting into the cup semi-final, even giving Motherwell an extra man for most of the game. We're ****g ace. Good times ![]() |
|
By:
...although at 3-2 HT, might have to watch the second half after all.

Nice1 milla and well done Aberdeen, a fantastic spirit in the team to take them to cup glory??? Graeme Park will be buzzin

By:
59. Atletico Madrid to win @ 1.04
|
|
By:
That was placed in the 92nd minute at 2-1 Atletico, just after Granada pulled one back. Nit more rushed than usual, since I prefer to post what I'm betting on before the event finishes. Although I suppose if I did it that way round it would be a bit easier
![]() Ashamed to say I had to google Graeme Park - I must be getting old ![]() |
|
By:
Top dj in the hacienda days, a big fan of Aberdeen. Good draw too for the semi, no ?
|
|
By:
It's a decent draw I suppose, think opinion was pretty split on our forums as to who the best opponent for us would be, would rather have had either of the other two myself, our games against St Johnstone have been pretty tight recently, drew 0-0 with them at Pittodrie earlier in the season.
Not unduly worried though, the way we've been playing the last few weeks we'll be ok, more concerned that we get the Saturday semi - the Sunday one would be a logistical nightmare for me. But that's purely selfish. Plenty of short odds tonight, so a bet should present itself relatively easily. Should be fun. |
|
By:
Feel a bit dirty for picking this one.
60. Rangers to beat Airdrie £169.35 at 1.04 Fixtures 01 November / Rangers v Airdrieonians / Match Odds Rangers Back 31341387540 01-Nov-13 20:54 1.04 169.35 1.04 01-Nov-13 20:54 Apologies for the slight delay in posting. Placed seconds after the unsuspend at 1-0, and 30s after that Sevco went 2-0 up, which is a good thing I suppose. Although a comeback would be most enjoyable - although from the looks of it there's more chance of Scotland winning the World Cup. Had my finger hovering over backing PSG at 1-0 at 1.09, but decided against it for some reason I can't remember now. I also considered laying 6 or more Dortmund goals, which I'm quite glad about. |
|
By:
Nice work milla, hope you get the saturday semi chief. PSG.. avoid at all costs
nice1. |

Had issues with connecting to the internet all day, so placing and posting today's bet now, in case problems re-emerge.
61. Lay Rayo Vallecano at 14.5 v Real Madrid - liability £174.83 Would prefer to jump on something in-play, but been fighting a losing battle all day, so more problems will doubtless emerge. As to this, Rayo are bobbins and even though Real might have an eye on the CL, they should be able to take care of Rayo without much fuss. |
|
By:
Switched the Real game off at 3-0, looks like I missed a belting finish
![]() 62. Phil Taylor to beat James Wade £185.29 at 1.06 Taylor currently 3-1 up, first to 10. Can't see Wade waving the Power off tonight - although I'd still quite enjoy it if if he did. |
|
By:
10-1 Taylor, easy.
Working early tomorrow - so will miss the late NFL - and since I'll be watching the Dons getting the Monday Night Football treatment, a little undecided exactly what way to approach tomorrow's bet. Two months not out ![]() |
|
By:
Seconds away from getting 1.05 on the Seattle Seahawks in overtime in the NFL last night, which would have made things slightly easier with regard to Monday's bet. Plan B was the tennis at the 02, but the game on just now could go either way at this point. I don't like sticking money on things I can't at least follow, which rules out most of tonight's football - apart from a game in Romania, but I'm not sticking almost £200 on Romanian football, since it's dodgy as ****.
So, sticking to what I know for Monday. 63. Lay Partick/Partick HT/FT v the mighty Dons at 12.5 - liability £194.29 Annoyingly, market has moved downwards since I placed the bet, so could have got even more bang for my buck. Never mind. With regards to the game, we're not bad at home these days - only team to beat us at Pittodrie so far were the Plastic Irish, and that thanks to a red card for our keeper, a penalty and a deflected late winner, before that we easily held our own (from what I can remember, I was admittedly a bit drunk) Partick aren't complete mugs away from home, but our defence, which has only conceded two goals in our last 10 games (including destroying Thistle 3-0 away) should be good enough to keep them out. Both our regular full backs are out tonight, although tbh our regular left back is a bit of a bombscare anyway and we've got decent cover in our squad. And there's also the statistical nugget, which I was unaware of before looking at the BF stats, that no team has scored more second half SPL goals this season than us, so if we do end up being behind at HT it's not necessarily tatties for the bet. Prime time Monday Night Football spot on Sky tonight, can't be any worse than yesterday's "offerings" - although I have a feeling Neville and Carragher and their fancy studio toys will be given the night off. Wish me (and us) luck. COYR |

By:
Who needs luck when you have Niall McGinn?
A pleasing evening all round. |
|
By:
Still going well i see and yeah, that McGinn looks a decent prospect, great FK and looks talented and comfortable on the ball. No Scotland caps ???
|
|
By:
No Scotland caps, 27 for Northern Ireland though
Scored the equaliser when they drew with Portugal away. Hell of a player.Plenty of what looks like easy pickings in tonight's Champions League games, but hanging fire just now. |

Fell asleep on the couch and seem to have missed most of the CL action.
64. Lay Anderlecht at 22 v Paris St-Germain - liability £189.84 Originally the market was at 23, but moved down to 22 as the countdown was happening. So if Anderlecht win I get to keep an extra £20 from the challenge Placed in approximately 78' at 1-1 |
