We're away at Portsmouth next week , so they well could be . 12pts from the last four games and Portsmouth are struggling at the min . Rochdale's price should be around the 2/1 - 7/4 mark .
By:
i reckon they could be high on my form system next week warren we will see
By:
i'll be having a fair lump on us next week if we're any bigger .
By:
could be worse bets warren

We are quite useful on the road , the 4 teams that got promoted last season , we beat 3 of them and drew the other , 10pts from 12 , very impressive by anyone's standard . This season's form may not look that good but we lost at Burton 1-0 with 10 men for 84 minutes , drew at high flying Oxford and beat Accy Stanley last week with 10 men for 45 minutes , the only " blip " was our defeat at Plymouth 1-0 , no excuse there .... No need for form study on this one , i've just done it for you lol . We're " banker " material next week .

Well here's an idea do it right this time to level £10 stakes not what suits when it suits, then you'll not get any "abuse" simple
Honesty is the best policy |

i am doing it right

Not having a go at all mate, like reading your stuff. Just thought the post contained a subliminal message, hence the embolding

I think when you are tracking P/L of lays to a point/level stakes basis like Dragon is doing you can either count the liability or the backer's stake. It probably doesn't matter which as long as you always use the same.
By:
Backs should be, say a 10 pt stake, and lays should carry a liability of 10 pts.
It's as simple as that. For instance last Saturday Wolves 10 points to win at ? Morecombe 10 points to win at ? Sheff Un Lay to lose 10 points at ? |
By:
That's the way its normally done I grant you, no real reason why it has to be done like that.
If I so chose to I could make all my backs to win £100. Fleetwood £100 @ Evens to win £100 Swansea £25 @ 4/1 to win £100 etc etc |
By:
Nothing wrong with that, it's up to personal preference,
but for sure, to be taken seriously it's necessary to declare stakes before the matches take place, not after. Anyway, why the coyness about declaring stakes? Strange. |
By:
i just use the figure of £10 per bet for illustrative purposes as explained earlier

Enjoying this thread Dragon, very interesting reading and pleased you're doing well. Good to see you still have patience with some of the forumites as well

Hi guys,
Another profitable weekend with Wolves, Burnley and the lay of Sheff Utd giving us winning bets. Morecombe at 5/2 unfortunately could not quite turnover northampton despite looking as though thew would win it finished 0-0. the results on my form based system to date are as follows; (All to a £10 stake) HIGHEST RATED: 4/5 winners 80% SR P&L+£21.30 BEST VALUE: 2/5 winners 33.33% SR P&L -£9.40 LAYS BETS: 5/5 winners 100% SR P&L+£50.00. OVERALL PROFIT £61.90 to a £10 stake hope i got the maths right LOL!!!!! i have two interesting bets for tomorrow evening which i will post shortly |

There are a number of games in the championship tomorrow and there are two teams that are scoring equal points on my form based rating system.
the first and = HR is Leicester at 1.83 to beat Yeovil Leicester have not been a good team to follow for betting purposes over the last few seasons as the invariably flattered to deceive. However they appear to be more solid and reliable this season and an away win at a poor Yeovil team at 1.83 looks on the cards. Leicester have won 6/9 games so far this season and have 2 away wins at derby and mboro who are both higher than yeovil in the league, they have only had 1 defeat so far this season (A to charlton 2-1) and lie 3rd in the league with a healthy 20 pts from 27 Yeovil by contrast are really struggling in the higher division that they find themselves in. They won their first game at Millwall bt since then they have lost 6/8 games (no wins)and lost all 4 home games. They have yet to score at home this season and have picked up 2 away points at lowly sheff wed and bolton. this looks agood bet so its HRATED LEICESTER at 1.83 The other bet with an equal rating is READING to beat Barnsley at 2.18,but for me the reading away form and Barnsley home form look a little bit different from above so only a smallish bet on this. LAY BET YEOVIL at 29/10 incidentally i have an away day teble on Liverppol (w1-3)Leicester and Reading be nice if that lands 8-) Good luck if you give any of the tips a go and as usual all comments on the tips are gratefully recieved. All selections made before team news. sorry noy as much detail in the report as i am really busy at work at the moment (OFSTED) ![]() |
By:
2 out of 5 is 40%
And as you know the lay bet isn't risking £10 it's about £50 each bet therefor the p&l on the lay bet is roughly £10 Therefor the total p&l t o £10 level stakes is about plus £22 but still going well, keep up the good work |
By:
oops missed updating that from the copy and paste thanks smithy
i just dont get u on the lay bet. i lay(for this thread the bet to a tenner if it wins its +10 if it does not then its the price x£10 loss) |
By:
If he is doing each lay bet to a £10 backer's stake then his P/L is fine. I don't understand the issue.
I disagree on the selections though, I have quite a fancy for Barnsley tomorrow. I'm not pulling the trigger until I've seen at least some early team news. |
By:
i think we will just have to disagree on that one smithy forest away tomorrow could be underpriced
![]() |
By:
whats your view on leicester mary
By:
I won't be backing Leicester tomorrow, but I'm confident they're a better team than Yeovil. I rarely back teams to win away from home at odds on.
By:
The stake is how much you are gambling if you are gambling £10 like you are with the backs then you win £2 laying 5/1 shots it's simple, ou can't add it up like you are doing without the figures bing grossly misleading
By:
But as soon as one of his 5/1 lays loses, he'll lose £50 instead of £10 so its shwings and roundabouts shirley?
By:
No of course it isn't its totally misleading he's stated the overall profit is £61.90 to £10 stakes which is totally not true
By:
yes thats is it i dont know why u dont get this smithy
![]() |
By:
but it is coz thats what i have done!!!!
By:
I just don't understand why you want to make false p&l statements, basically if makes you look like either you are not placing the lay bet or haven't a clue what I'm talking about
By:
The way you are doing it Akers it look like you've successfully laid 5 even moneys shots, when at best they were 5/1 I think one was 8.4 but with about £2 only available, the conference north match
By:
i dont have a clue what your talking about! or is it you not having a clue what im talking about
![]() im not going to argue you the toss over this addinfinitum im reporting as it is lets try and keep to the football hey its getting wearisome to be honest m8 |
By:
Well I'm sorry but the way you are doing it just shows yourself up and loses credibility.
By:
too tired to argue the toss dean, up at 5.30pm so off to bed soon
lets hope leicester can win tomorrow catch you again |
By:
Can't be cheering Leicester on though I do think they'll win, but I think it's between us Leicester and reading for 2nd place behind qpr, good night
By:
ditto m8 take care
