Laying a 5/1 to lose £10, you win £2 if your lay is successful,
lose £10 if the lay wins. Either win 2 or lose 10. If laying a 5/1 shot to win you £10, you have a liability of £50. It's either 2/10 or 10/50. Simple. |

I don't think anyone disputes the 2/10 10/50 thing.
When he lays a losing 5/1 shot his P/L will be 50 down, instead of 10. It really doesn't matter. I suppose isn't ideal when he's using £10 back stakes and chucking it all in together, and it could be construed as misleading but the downside for him is that if he loses a few lay bets it will make his P&L look really bad |

ok had enough of people arguing the toss over this, smith continually nit picking and kenilworth coming back on this thread when he said he would stay off it
for future purposes NO LAY BETS WILL BE INCLUDED the only advice from now on is HIGHEST RATED and BEST VALUE I will also NOT be posting a profit and loss details. I will keep my own records !!!! so back to the football please!!!!! |

Dragon I don't find anything wrong with your P + L I think dsmith is really on about ROI
If you back a team for 10 points and it wins your ROI is 100% ( minus commission ) If you lay a team at 5/1 for 10 points and it wins your ROI is 20% I think that's what this about, I may be wrong |

look smithy i can keep my own record of bets thank you very much and certainly dont need any help from you, not sure who appointed you as judge over my betting tips. I dont see any other forumite acting in such a manner (apart from ken) who of course is no longer on this thread. maybe you should just leave the thread alone and let everyone else get on with passing comments on the tips themselves and hopefully making money!!!!
