Personally lads I would like a genuine football thread on here where people like dragon and mc cam put up a few selections and the rest of us can log in if and when we want and post our own opinion. If we all make a few quid along the way all the better.

Problem here seems to be some elderly women whose seem to have got their knickers in a massive twist.

Get a life ladies - we're all capable of looking after ourselves on here ... it is a betting forum after all and if there's one single common denominator amongst us all its an ability to work out p/l. Some of you may think your comments/sniping is very clever ... it's not, its pedantic at the very least or downright disruptive and argumentative most of the time. Let dragon post his well researched and informative comments, let anyone else add their own and if you care to put up a few selections yourselves then I'm sure everyone would be delighted to read them. But please stop trying to make yourselves look clever, you just don't have the ability.

Hi everybody another good weekend with wolves and burnley obliging along with the lay of Sheff utd. Morecombe could only draw unfortunately but overall a good weekend. Leicester did will for us mid week as did the lay of Yeovil. Reading were undone by a late equaliser at Barnsley. So overall we are going well and making a healthy profit so far.

This weekend my system has produced a number of HIGHEST RATED teams along with Best Value teams: they are as follows:

HIGHEST RATED

Two teams have the highest rating of 26 pts and they are CAMBRIDGE and LIVERPOOL. I am going to make CAMBRIDGE my highest rated tip at 8/13 or 1.68 to beat Hereford for the following reasons:

Cambridge are top of the Conference prem and also top of the form League table with 4 wins out of the last 6 games (2 draws)scoting 9 and conceding only 3.They are unbeaten in the league winning 8 and drawing 4 and have won every home game soring 15 and conceding just 2 in the process.they have the best home record and the best defence in the League. their home wins have been against,Nuneaton,Halifax, forest green,Tamworth and Lincoln 4 of whom are higher placed in the league than Hereford.36pts out of 48 is an impressive start to the season.

Hereford by contrast are in a run of poor form. They are 3rd bottom of the form league having lost 3 out of their last 6 matches with their other games being2 drawsand awin. They have taken 5 points from the last possible 18 and all their away points have been against teams lower than 16th in the League.Their away form is particularly poor having lost 3 and drawn 1 of their 4 away games.

Cambridge should be too strong for them and CAMBRIDGE are the HR bet this weekend.

BEST VALUE

The best value bet this weekend is AFC WIMBLEDON to beat Northampton at 21/20 at Korals

This is a team who have won all their home games against a team that has lost all their away games and have yet to score an away goal. I tipped up against Northampton last weekend so the info is available earlier in the thread on their form. Suffice to say they are 2nd bottom of the form and league tables and all their away defeats have been to teams lower than Wimbledon in the table.

Wimbledon on the other hand are going well, as I have said they have won every home game against burton,Scunny,Wycombe and Fleetwood(all teams much better than N'ton)and have the best home form in the league. Given the form of the teams aprice better than evens looks good. so BV bet is WIMBLEDON at 21/20

LAY BET HEREFORD

The other home teams that scored highly were QPR, SPURS and MANSFIED

The highest rated away teams were: Kidderminster, braintree, Wolves, Orient and Rochdale

Good luck if you give any of them a go and as usual all selections made prior to team news . All comments on footballing related issues will be welcome

Great write-up, but not as perceptive or accurate as maggot's dissection of supernap's character.

Good luck dragon, shaping up to be a good thread.

think swansea should win tonight col had a small interest bet, wigan i cannot make out,lot of injuries at the moment. watched them a few times last season and were very unfortunate to go down, defense was the problem for them, fancied them to go up this year but looking seriously iffy now

think they may give up on this comp to concentrate on champ so away team or a lay be worth a go

good luck with your bets m8

Great insight again dragon, a little tougher to build an accumaulator this weekend.

After last weeks 20/1 5-fold winner of home teams I'm going for the same again. My five teams, including the two you've detailed, are:

Birmingham
QPR
AFC Wimbledon
Mansfield
Cambridge

About 20/1 again. Good luck with your bets.

Uninspiring choices I'm afraid Dragon.
I think your aregood with your football, and you enjoy it as well. But Tipping odds on chances is not really the way forward.
You will never win by tipping odds on chances when people are keeping tabs on your P/L.
Do you take the view you MUST make selections every weekend or midweek ?
Personally I think you know your stuff, but would benefit from just picking selctions as and when(not every weekend,or every time there is a midweek card)
Fair play to you,and I'm sorry if it seems I am knocking you(I'm not,you are good for the forum)
But MoneyTree can pick odds on chances week in,week out.
Good luck anyway.

The above is true about "trees tips", but when he tips a odds on poke, it is doomed from the start.

thanks for your comments stewards

i only post what my system gives me. some weeks there will be no posts as there are no matches or teams that attract a points rating high enough to warrant a tip.

in respect of backing odds on teams as a friend who is far knowledgeable once told me "a winner is a winner". if you look at what the system produces you tend to get odds on for the Highest rated bet and evens a mostly bigger on the BEST rated tips so there is a variety in terms of price and hence risk in the tips.

my system does seem to work as it has now made consistent profit over 3 years now. lets hope this continues this year

thanks once again for your input.

Although I think Dragon is doomed to failure here, I have to disagree regarding odds on chances, value can be found anywhere , and just because something is a 100/1 shot does not mean it is automatically better value than a 4/6 shot, consistently beating the odds is key and that applies to odds on shots as much as odds against...

Each to their own.
I agree that 100/1 loser is no good to anyone, but in the past Dragon has found some decent value shouts at 2/1 and above.
Would you not agree that something priced at 8/13 is generally expected to win(as We know they don't all) but I just don't see how if they win he can come back and claim glory on how he spotted a stand out value.
Imagine Pricewise tipping odds on shots each weekend ? He would get laughed at Win or Lose.
By:
dashero
When: 05 Oct 13 11:47
If the 8/13 shot should be 1/5 would you just ignore it because it is odds on?? Of course you wouldn't. Pricewise is a poor comparison, it deals with a different sport, a better choice would be Kevin Pulleins column , which makes turns a profit but tips many odds on shots.

Can you give me an example of the last time a bookmaker priced up a 1/5 shot at 8/13 ?
I don't buy the RP anymore because it's basically a paper own and run by Bookmakers now.But when I did Pulleins was useless,so he must have had a big turn around in form.
