Don't judge scottish football by Hibs. They are absolute garbage and only Leigh Griffiths papered over the cracks last season.
|
|
By:
They did well in the Champions League sure, beating a disinterested Barcelona side despite only having 8% possession, and beating a second rate Portugese and Latvian team or someone. Everyone in England was really happy for them. But when it came to the crunch they got absolutely pasted 5-0 by an average Juventus side.
And now they're selling their best players to Norwich, Just like a Championship side. The reality is they have to come in at the second qualifying round because they're absolute guff. |

The best comparison is with Braga. Celtic played them in the CL 2010-2011 2-1 & 0-3 Birmingham in the Championship played them in EL 2011-2012 1-3 & 0-1. Means little I'd say.
The rest of the Scottish Prem is probably League One standard, so not much point in looking at those results. |

Celtic and Birmingham is a decent comparison I'd say in terms of playing level, history, support etc. At times they may have both been able to compete to some degree with the top English clubs, but they will both be perpetual also-rans.

On the decline, same as English football. Without the foreign players the best of the English Clubs would be about the same as Rangers or Celtic. Not a lot to shout about is it?

That's a different argument. Granted English players are absolute crap. There isn't a single player among them with a smidgen of on-field intelligence. We get to paper over the cracks by buying some half decent players and hyping it up with Sky.
It's hard to see what joy can be gained from the rest of Scottish football though. And this is coming from a Crewe fan, so I know my utter tripe. Does it at least mean loads of kids are being given a chance in the first teams, or are Scottish clubs still buying loads of foreigners, just worse ones? |

Scottish football is an absolute shambles. Run by idiots, fans deserting it in their droves and quality on the field is abysmal

Scottish football is dire and we all know it as now we cant afford the decent foreigners or even half decent as they get snapped up by EPL teams on higher wages.Celtic are now a team who buy young players and hope to sell on at a profit ( we are led to believe its the way ahead ) but the profit is only going in greedy pockets.Dont get me wrong we have been quite lucky with some buys lately but also ulucky with players like Bangura , Juarez , Rasmussen who alone cost about 7 million.

Malmo got Swansea next.

7-0 . fair enough i thought Malmo would pass them easy in 3 legs but 9-0 already is a disgrace at any level

Any manager that thinks James McPake is a good player and also makes him captain needs his head examining.

Malmo beat the old Rangers 2 seasons ago at Ibrox. Did anyone really think Hibs would stand a chance?
