I would love to know what they actually thought they were doing this Summer. Did they ever truly believe they could get Fabregas? Because all indication was it was a complete non-starter, but they persevered with it. Thiago? What really went on, seems we dithered and lost out. Why weren't we in the market for Ozil and/or the obvious players at Real Madrid that were going to be up on offer.

It seems strange because we've paid £5m more for a guy that we could have got for less in July. It screams he was nowhere near first choice then. But why? Most people expected us to end up with Baines and Fellaini from the offset. It almost feels like they were desperate to prove the naysayers wrong, that they could bring in big names, failed, and then fell back to a last resort of bringing in Fellaini.

Fellaini is a good player don't get me wrong, but he's only really one part of what we're missing. He's not really a creative midfielder. Why we were seemingly never interested in Ozil, the type of player we desperately crave is beyond me.

Moyes telling his team diving isn't what his teams do . Does this guy have a clue about winning games at the top level of management? Win at all costs.
