how out of his depth was a certain ex aberdeen manager all those years ago?
Nobody thought he was out of his depth . Fergie's record at Aberdeen was miles above anything Moyes has done.

dont think you wd get that much for him
English players tend to go for a premium. If Carroll is still worth 15m, then Rooney has to be worth at least 25m+.

How can you judge someone as being out of their depth after 1 friendly with half the first team missing?I do agree that his comments on Rooney were bizarre though, saying he's only back up to RVP is hardly going to entice him to stay.
I wrote this before that friendly. The friendly didn't really influence my thinking. I thought he was out his depth when he come in, and based on his actions so far I still think he is.

How successful would Fergie have been if HE had been manager of Everton instead of MoyesFerguson wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes - he was a cheque book manager who got lucky with 5 top class players coming through at the same time. If he was Everton manager he would have had to sell them at less than their true worth

That's a bad one you've had there Toffee.
Cheque book manager that saw Aberdeen with a budget of tuppence beat Real Madrid to win a majopr European trophy.
He was lucky that 5 top class players came through from a system that he himself had completely overhauled since becoming manager, allied to signing the best goalkeeper in the world for the price of a Mars bar and an infant from Norway who he kept in his squad when the lad was only 8.
Aye - lucky fecker.
