Exactly. And that's why most of the markets are largely guesswork here. There are so few form guides, if any, for this match, that it's nigh on impossible to accurately price up any market.

Hmm yeah, but it doesn't work like that - fopotball isn't a mathmatical formula

for example, If Bulgaria beat Faroe  5-0 it doesn't necessarily follow that Germany would beat the Faroes by more just because Germany are a better team than Bulgaria - i think this is where a lot of  gamblers come unstuck

Germany would be far more likely to win by more though, they might not , but you'd expect them too .

Anyone else that wanted to back Spain @ 1.01 but obviously can't at the moment? Don't think I've ever seen a team unavailable to back like that.

i'm curious, are you aware that you're betting on over 9 goals to be scored at odds of about 1.92? does that actually register in your head?

seriously people, i'm all for backing goals and handicaps but backing cricket scores just because it's Spain is a recipe for disaster - look at FA Cup giant killing or the likes of Faroe Islands, San Marino, Haiti, Liechtenstein, Malta, Andorra etc...

it's incredibly rare any side gets in to double digits in competitive football, no matter what teams are playing. i'm gonna be laying anything over 10+ all day long as i feel it's almost too good to be true - over 15.5 goals matched at 12's - who in the right mind thinks this will end *at least* 16-0???

yes it registers thank you. ive never backed such a score in my life before. and ive been betting over 20 years. probably never will back such a score again. i wouldnt dream of backing over 8.5 if man utd played carshalton at home. but this is the best team in the world against a team who (on the nigeria game) would struggle to stop a sunday league team put 5 past them. ive never seen such a bad defensive performance in my entire life.

i backed over 8.5 at 2.2ish for a grand and over 9.5 at 3.2ish for a grand. i dont have any second thoughts about it. if it loses it loses, but id make over 8.5 about 1/2 on how tahiti's defence played the other night. actually if i was laying, i wouldnt even lay it at 1/2. id regard it as a dodgy lay. i can afford to lose, i wont even really care if i do. cos i regard it as a good bet. i dont mind losing bets im confident on, cos they cant always win.

statistically maybe  , but look back in history at all the high scoring games ...we will say 7 goals or more ...and i'm sure you will find they arent all scored against bottom sides by top sides ...there is a lot of randomness

Spain might be motivated by the goal difference factor ,although as long as they make it to 7  that should see them through imo

San Marino losing 11-0 to Holland and 13-0 to Germany are probably the only recent examples that get close to this mis-match

I do feel that Spain will have to try harder to NOT score 8 than to score 8.

It's ok, i understood Happy

I accept anything can happen and Tahiti were **** etc.. but imo Tahiti made it their mission to score so we seen them attack and try to play like a 'normal' side... they won't be able to do that against Spain so they'll naturally have more men behind the ball.

People saying that Spain will be motivated by records etc only need to look at the side Spain will be putting out. It's not a full strength side therefore the idea that they're out to smash records doesn't float... it also sends a psychological message out to the Spanish players to stroll around and impress as opposed to hit a 14 goal target or whatever the objective might be.

lol , you need to look at who is in the Spain 'reserves'

Better team than Brazil

Playing the reserves might work in their favor, players trying to impress so they get to play in the other important games and i'm sure whoever is playing upfront wont mind scoring the goals for top goalscorer of the tournament.

worth a small punt on the big overs imo

their reserves are Mata, Silva, Torres, Villa, Cazorla, Navas. Not exactly struggling for options.

Fair play to Tahiti though for single handedly reviving the football forum. 900+ posts for their first game and this thread will do well over 1000 posts by the end of tomorrow

A bot must have gone bonkers on the correct score 2 home market?  I really don't expect Tahiti to score, think a Spain clean sheet is also over priced, and personally think Spain will ratchet up 8 or more but 299/1 on 7-1 and 6-1 is absurd.  The relative prices of 7-0 and 7-1 make a clean sheet 1.06.

i dont really think spain will care or try to score 10, i just think they probably will do by accident. if they end up in good positions they arent gonna miss on purpose. obviously tahiti will play more defensive, im betting on them not being any good at it. as ive never seen them play defensively thats a risk, but one im taking on how they looked the other game. i would like 8-0 on my side, but there isnt one on here. and bookies will no doubt let me have about a quid on so no point bothering.

its not really needed, just wait until the spain game is over and say they score eight...if you think uruguay will score more back over 8 and less under 8, it just about amounts to the same thing

Tahiti manager:

''But even if they score 15 or 20 goals, I would be happy if we scored one. Spain have won two European titles and the World Cup and the players on the bench are all stars. Spain is the top football nation and Uruguay only managed 28 per cent possession against them on Sunday, and I would be happy with that. But whatever happens, I do not want to play defensively and sit back and stay in our own half. When we get the ball I want us to go forwards and look for a goal."
